strikes me there is a lot of missing items out there with no good reason why they are missing. first we had the ironing board saga then the missing chicken which turned out not to be missing in the first place but was a scary moment for a while.
well not to be out done i am missing my kindle not seen for 6 months and my ipod seems to have wandered off as well.
are any other MNers missing any important items? what is going on out there i wonder

All is good as long as I can find my posh chocolates. :)

YeOldeTrout · 25/02/2019 21:51

and the children can't

PyongyangKipperbang · 25/02/2019 21:52

I got a new knife block for Xmas I used one to slice some wrapping paper on Xmas eve and it hadn't been seen since!!

It'll have gone in the bin. Every single vegetable parer sized knife I have ever had in a set has been lost within weeks. I am 100% sure they have all gone in the bin with the parings. I bet your knife went with the rubbish on Xmas Eve/Morning.

If its any consolation I have a lovely navy blue sweater that just turned up in my wardrobe one day, not mine, didn't buy it and no other females in the house. Wearing it now, if its yours let me know.

MissClareRemembers · 25/02/2019 21:54

A £50 Debenhams gift card. It was missing for about 6 months. I was given it one Christmas when we were visiting ILs. I was so grateful as money was tight. When we got home I couldn’t find it anywhere, I even asked my IL to check under furniture etc at their house. Nothing.

Then one day I looked on top of my chest of drawers and there it was. In plain sight. On top of a chest of drawers used umpteen times a day.

So odd.

PinaColada1 · 25/02/2019 21:55

How can you lose an ironing board?!

Have lost a pair of trousers for 3 years. They turned up at my mothers house freshly washed.

Driving license. Where?! 1 year.

Lost a couple of dresses. I’m the only woman in the house.

PyongyangKipperbang · 25/02/2019 21:56

Oh and FYI..... if your petrol filler cap release stops working (a common fault it seems) or mysteriously disappears you can pop it by put a co-op loyalty card in the gap as far as it will go and it triggers the spring thing so it opens!

Thank you google :)

leiaskye · 25/02/2019 21:58

The lids of the Tupperware boxes I have, & the boxes of the lids I have.

ImARocketMan · 25/02/2019 21:58

I had a pair of trainers I took on holiday, wore them on the plane there and back as they were the heaviest shoes I took so definitely didn't leave them on holiday. Got home, unpacked case, shoes gone, never to be seen again. Have used the suitcase since and they aren't in it by mistake. Genuinely have absolutely no idea where they could have gone! Confused

bananafish · 25/02/2019 21:59

I lost my engagement ring for 18 months. It was only when we were moving house that I picked up a bedside lamp with a hollow base and there it was. Don't really want to think about what that says about household cleaning skills.

I bought some mascara a few months ago and it just disappeared. I thought I was going insane. It turned up today on my dressing table - I had to take the packaging off so I knew it was the same one that had gone walkabout. I have no idea how or why. Duppy, as my mother would have said.

Baby Jesus from the crib. Lego man was born instead.

iPad since August 2016.

WitsEnding · 25/02/2019 22:01

@Toooldtobearsed2 my extra long tinfoil always turns up on top of the kitchen wall units, in the gap below the ceiling if that makes sense. There's nowhere else it wouldn't be in the way when making Xmas dinner then all gets forgotten!

MothertotheLordsofmisrule · 25/02/2019 22:02

longtimelurkerhelen

Its especially irritating when they have that special weapon you gave them.

At least in Fallout 4 you can track them...

MissLadyM · 25/02/2019 22:02

Who slices wrapping paper with a knife?! Are you Zorro? I'd hate to see how you open champagne...(misses point)

NicoAndTheNiners · 25/02/2019 22:02

I'm another one who lost the tv remote. We'd swapped from virgin to sky and the man came and took the virgin box and remote back. I realised the next day I'd lost the actual tv remote but still had the virgin one so assumed I'd given him the wrong one.

Bought another one.

Two years later walked into the front room and it was on the sofa arm. Hubby and dd both swear they know nothing about it.

BrizzleMint · 25/02/2019 22:03

They are all things made in the EU so they are going home.

PyongyangKipperbang · 25/02/2019 22:08

Does anyone else now just buy cheap crap because you know you will lose it?

I have owned 2 new kindles and several second hand ones as I have a knack of losing them (it is built in? Like built in obsolescence so you have to buy a new one?). I get all my sunglasses from Asda at £4 a pair and buy 3 pairs at a time. I spent ££ on my reading glasses from the opticians. Lost both pairs within a month and now buy them for £4 a pair from Tesco, which I recommend btw, good quality, nice shape and colour choices.

Ecigs. I am forever losing them. So instead of the expensive ones from the special shop I bought the £20 one from the petrol station up the road and replace the clearomizer for a tenner as it will go with the several thousand batteries I have, which I never lose for some reason :o

PartyHatOnADog · 25/02/2019 22:12

A pair of shoelaces, removed from converse so they could go through the washing machine. 30 minutes later the laces were gone!

ipswichwitch · 25/02/2019 22:13

Playmobil gladiator from DS2s Roman arena set. He’s gutted as he can’t make them do a proper gladiator battle against the Roman in his chariot and the lion. The little emperor looks a bit sad now he’s got nobody to give a thumbs up/down to!

Sleepyhead11 · 25/02/2019 22:15

Can opener as of tonight. Hugely annoying as making tuna pasta bake.

DemelzaPoldarksshinerrefiner · 25/02/2019 22:19

Cornish Knockers forced to diversify since the demise of tin mining but thrilled by high speed broadband in select spots!

Jux · 25/02/2019 22:24

My Kindle was missing for about 6m, then I found it on a bookshelf (logical) Confused

Anyway, I think that Kindles get tired and want a holiday somewhere with free charging, and quiet rooms where they can read each other.

crimsonlake · 25/02/2019 22:24

I am so interested in this thread as I am always having conversations about missing things. I mislaid a vase over Christmas, I thought it had gone forever. It eventually turned up where I had already looked. My latest is a pair of blue suede ankle boots which I had forgotten about. Since remembering I have searched high and low and they have simply disappeared. My niece tells me there is a book called ' Where the missing things go ' I shall have to find it.

NotBeforeCoffee · 25/02/2019 22:25

My tea cosy. It's been missing a year now. It just disappeared one day. Me and my husband still talk about it because it's totally baffled us

Queenie8 · 25/02/2019 22:26

My posh ultra comfy black bra and matching pants that look sleek under a fitted dress.

My red lipstick

Several tupperwear boxes and lids - one or other missing I can understand, but both????
