strikes me there is a lot of missing items out there with no good reason why they are missing. first we had the ironing board saga then the missing chicken which turned out not to be missing in the first place but was a scary moment for a while.
well not to be out done i am missing my kindle not seen for 6 months and my ipod seems to have wandered off as well.
are any other MNers missing any important items? what is going on out there i wonder

Lid for one of the babies bottles. Took it off fed her, go to put the lid back on and it's gone. 2 days now. Such a small thing but it bothers me how it's vanished.

CantStopMeNow · 25/02/2019 21:06

My mind.....I've lost my mind....last time i saw it was when it was going round the bend and now i can't find it...

BananasAreTheSourceOfEvil · 25/02/2019 21:07

Well there’s a vortex in my house that gets all the socks, but I saw Sarah Milligan describing them as tiny sleeping bags for mice at the back of the washing machine... hard to be angry with that image!

Teaspoons. There is a teaspoon vortex in my house.

4 Snicker bars I was bought for Christmas. I found them again last week and now they have disappeared again. I have hidden them too well.

midsomermurderess · 25/02/2019 21:12

A watch, gone, vanished, dematerialised.

EllenJanesthickerknickers · 25/02/2019 21:12

My kindle turned up 6 months after I’d finally given up on it and bought a new one. It was in the pocket on the back of my car seat, where I’d hidden it. Blush

BeefTomato · 25/02/2019 21:13

The TV remote has been missing since lunchtime here with still no sign. And the Kindle has been nowhere to be found since Christmas!

BuntyBonus · 25/02/2019 21:13

Car keys (several months)
New glasses (one week)

BarbaraofSevillle · 25/02/2019 21:13

DP lost his kindle, but he almost certainly left it on a flight.

We've lost several items of washing. I'm convinced someone is nicking it from the line (not all in one go though). Off the top of my head - some running gear, a beach towel, a pillowcase, a hand towel and the very thin quilt we've had for years but I couldn't find during last summer's hot spell.

I've turned the house upside down in a decluttering spree and none of the above have turned up. I've also lost my watch (just a cheap one but I need it for when I can't look at the time on my phone).

MadisonAvenue · 25/02/2019 21:13

My iPod earbuds disappeared just before Christmas. They were plugged into it and it was in the cupboard, and then they were gone. I initially blamed my sons but my earbuds had a distinctive scratch on them and the ones they're using are unblemished.

Was that chocolate bar from the other week ever found?

Springwalk · 25/02/2019 21:15

We are all getting old and very senile. One of the drawbacks of being a modern geriatric parent.

justforareply · 25/02/2019 21:16

A navy shirt dress

How???

totorostoes · 25/02/2019 21:16

I have been looking for my eyeliner and tweezers for a couple of weeks now, no idea where they’ve gone and before their disappearance were used daily.

PuppyMonkey · 25/02/2019 21:16

DD had a lovely tangle tease hairbrush thing which she dropped one day as she was standing by the mirror. Couldn’t find it at the time, but thought ah well. It’ll be there when we look properly later. Six months later we have still not located it, despite moving furniture, looking in every corner of the room, regular hoovering etc.

Twilight zone stuff.

BarbaraofSevillle · 25/02/2019 21:16

So many lost kindles. When I was trying to track down DPs, I discovered that THIRTY NINE kindles had found there way to the lost property department of the airport we flew from in the week after we did. But none of them were his appararently.

Kokapetl · 25/02/2019 21:19

The bottom of one of the cake tins.
The second half of the photos from our honeymoon.
My sunglasses.
The lids of over half the plastic tubs.
The plastic tubs that fit the lids we DO have.

I did, however, find my sports bra which seemed to have vanished after one wear leaving only the packet behind. It had fallen down the back if a drawer on the inside of the chest of drawers. I found it when the bottom drawer didn't shut properly.

I also recently found the wellies which had been put away for DC2 to grow into and then were lost for ages.

DD's snow suit.

I know we're having an unseasonably warm February but where TF is DD's snow suit? It was hanging on the back of the living room door at New Year (it was a Christmas present). We tried it on, it was Far Too Big and I asked DH to put it back. I went to get it when it snowed and it's nowhere to be seen...

MerryBerryCheesecake · 25/02/2019 21:23

A single tube of oak coloured silicone sealant. Purchased it from Screwfix to fix some small gaps in the new hall floor, saw it come out of the shopping bag and get put in my adhesives storage box with several white sealant tubes I'd previously bought for replacing the sealant around the UPVC window frames. That was twelve months ago and have not seen it since. The windows have been done and I think I'd notice if there was brown gunk there instead of pristine white. Have turned the place upside down looking for it but to no avail. It's not the price because it's not even two pounds, it's the weirdness of it just disappearing.

Kokapetl · 25/02/2019 21:23

It is also spooky how many things turn up in the first place I look after I have checked it at least twice. This happened with my passport as well as things like corkscrews and books.

youngestisapsycho · 25/02/2019 21:24

My iPod was missing for about 6 months.... was found in a play handbag in bottom of DDs toy Box!

fifipop185 · 25/02/2019 21:24

@SurgeHopper Grin

The aloe vera plant from my bathroom window has vanished. Utter mystery.
