strikes me there is a lot of missing items out there with no good reason why they are missing. first we had the ironing board saga then the missing chicken which turned out not to be missing in the first place but was a scary moment for a while.
well not to be out done i am missing my kindle not seen for 6 months and my ipod seems to have wandered off as well.
are any other MNers missing any important items? what is going on out there i wonder

I'm forever buying rechargeable batteries. I know that I bought a large pack of AAAs (I'm pretty sure it was an 18 or 20 pack) to top up the many, many rechargeable batteries that I know we have somewhere. I went looking for AAA batteries today and found ONE.

Korvalscat · 25/02/2019 22:33

Found my kindle yesterday after it had been missing for a few weeks, left it on the stairs for a few minutes whilst I put a load of washing on, went back to take it upstairs to put it on charge and the bugger had gone again.

Car keys are currently missing, dd swears she put them on the hook yesterday evening but they have gone walkabout.

SchadenfreudePersonified · 25/02/2019 22:35

Pixies. 100% pixies

I also think pixies.

They've taken my watch, the little fairy bastards!

Queenie8 · 25/02/2019 22:36

To those PP who are missing dresses, they'll be hanging under a jacket. Rather than search the wardrobe from the top/the hangers, look from the bottom, you may see them hanging down.

TryingSoVeryHard · 25/02/2019 22:43

@RB68 you can replace a decree absolute. You contact the court where it was granted. There's a court fee to pay but it's not huge.
If I'm reading your post right and you've since remarried then you may never need it anyway.

westernchampion · 25/02/2019 22:50

I cant find my camouflage trousers.

IncrediblySadToo · 25/02/2019 22:50

My favourite jeans.

...just vanished ‍🤷🏻‍♀️

They wouldn’t fit anyone else in the house.

TheresACatInMyLaundryBasket · 25/02/2019 22:51

My nice apple headphones. 3 pairs. I refuse to buy any more, but the cheap ones are awful :(

IncrediblySadToo · 25/02/2019 22:52

I also lost my kindle for over a year, found it under the spare tyre in the boot of the car when I had a flat. Also lost one but only one of my extremely expensive Fry boots when moving house last summer.

ohtheholidays · 25/02/2019 23:02

Yes,thanks for this thread OP untill you started this I'd forgot about what had gone missing from our house.

One is an expensive camera I bought for my DH that's been missing for a few months. We've all searched everywhere for it and my DH was the only one to ever use it and it was usually kept in one place where no one else goes into and yet it's gone.

Another one not expensive but special(to me)is a candle in a special holder my BFF bought me last year just vanished 2 weeks ago,no one ever touched it and we've all looked for it but have no idea where it's gone.

Waspnest · 25/02/2019 23:20

Metal straws. Bought them from Aldi because I'd never seen them anywhere else. Put them in a box somewhere to hide them from DH whilst kitchen was being done and I have emptied every box but no sign.

ChestOfFields · 25/02/2019 23:24

I had bought my dd some really nice posh dominoes for xmas, and I couldn't find them anywhere.
I knew they were somewhere in my bedroom, which I turned upside down looking for them!
Last week I came home from shopping, and put some carrier bags of clothes and stuff on my bed.
When I went to bed and moved the bags, there was another carrier bag with the dominoes and some sellotape I'd forgotten I'd bought in it!

I once lost my ironing board for about a year, I knew I had it as we'd not long moved.
Then one day I went into the laundry room, and closed the door behind me (I'd not usually do that) and there it was, on a hook on the back of the door!

I usually try to look for something else, other than what I've lost, and I usually find stuff I'd forgotten I had!

SoMuchToBits · 25/02/2019 23:39

@ipswichwitch see if you can get a replacement from the Playmobil spare parts service. Even if computer says no, try emailing them or phoning them, they are usually v helpful. Smile

Btw are you from Ipswich? If so, would like to meet up and compare Playmo collections! Grin

jay55 · 25/02/2019 23:40

My makeup bag and my holiday money purse. Neither seen since before Xmas.

Auntiepatricia · 25/02/2019 23:40

I also have a missing chicken. What in the world is going on!

Fatted · 25/02/2019 23:43

My trainer socks.

My youngest's Captain America sock.

My eldest's pokémon sock.

All of DH's socks appear to have escaped from the clutches of the sock goblin.

Giraffey1 · 25/02/2019 23:45

The house pixies have hidden my passport. My grandma’s wedding ring. My Lavinia fairy craft stamp. A bag of winter gloves, hats and scarves. That’s just the tip of the iceberg!

LoisWilkerson1 · 25/02/2019 23:47

A Links of London bracelet. It was a gift and I can't really afford to replace the bugger. My dh is missing several horrible shirts.

LotsToThinkOf · 25/02/2019 23:54

My necklace pendent of my eldest’s handprints. It was next to my bed, eldest was looking at it when he was 2, necklace there pendent gone. Too big to swallow, I’ve looked everywhere. Eldest is now 6!

LoisWilkerson1 · 25/02/2019 23:56

Every umbrella I've ever had.
2.1 billion socks.
My 30's

This is fun.

LoisWilkerson1 · 25/02/2019 23:59

Could it have been swallowed lots? Someone must have ate my socks too.

expat101 · 26/02/2019 00:02

My Mum's 21st birthday Pearl necklace. What I cannot figure out is she gave me all of her and Dad's valuables including watches etc after Dad died (4 + years ago), but not the pearls. Usually she wore them for lunch here at Christmas Day. I packed up the villa she moved into after the family home was sold (because she didn't like it and the health system declared her unable to live by herself). But cannot ever remember seeing her pearls.

whasoaw1 · 26/02/2019 00:14

My teaspoons and tin openers were vanishing on a regular basis. Turnes out the cat was hitting them into the recycling bin (plastics and metals so hopefully got recycled)! We went through about 8 teaspoons and 2 to openers before I caught him one day, just hitting them off expertedly into the bin. He was like a some kind of ninja cat I kid you not. I wasn't even angry.
