strikes me there is a lot of missing items out there with no good reason why they are missing. first we had the ironing board saga then the missing chicken which turned out not to be missing in the first place but was a scary moment for a while.
well not to be out done i am missing my kindle not seen for 6 months and my ipod seems to have wandered off as well.
are any other MNers missing any important items? what is going on out there i wonder

A set of Tweenies dolls I got for my niece in Australia for Christmas. Put the bag on the bed and poof. As she's leaving school this year, I think it's too late now.

The light up Christmas scene canvases I bought in the sale in January 2018. Bargain they were. Me and sil try to outdo each other with cheesy bargain Xmas pressies each year so I was delighted to find such treasures for 99p. Then we moved house. Can't find them. Hoping they reappear before december...

My mums wedding and engagement rings, and yesterday a bag of mini popadoms has disappeared into thin air.
I lost a pink pair of boots once in my old house. I had the place upside down. They mysteriously reappeared one morning, splat in the middle of the dining room floor. I moved house.

I had a stone keepsake type thing which I keep in my pocket, I lost it over a year ago and ordered a new one, which I’ve had for over a year and last week I went in my car and the lost one was sitting in the cup holder in my car.

A knitted mouse stuffed with catnip that my hairdresser made for our cat has vanished without trace. Also one of the coasters that matches the table mats. Perhaps the mouse took it?

Lost a Kindle about 3 years. Just disappeared.

I once lost a set of keys on the day I moved into a property as a student. They had dropped into the pocket of a cardigan I had placed (and then never worn) on the back of a chair.

Similar happened with a mobile phone. It slipped into a poly pocket of stamps to be sent to a charity. I remember coming in with my arms full and then never seeing it again. It turned up when I was sorting the stamps several mo the later.

So I think there is usually an explanation but it can be a long time coming and difficult to understand!

Scissors....plural!!! Got fed up in kids taking my kitchen scissors to cut up random crap I got them both a pair of scissors each.... They've lost them.they have also lost 2 pairs that were kept in first aid kits.... So my kitchen scissors are once again taken by kids to cut random crap and never where I need them!!

@Asta19 have you checked the draw under the oven? I was amazed to find a load of brand new trays I bought and stashed in there (and promptly forgot).

My favourite mug has gone missing

Bought an expensive bra and matching knickers. Laid them on bed to admire, left the room and knickers had vanished on my return. To make matters worse when I checked the receipt to confirm I had bought them I'd been charged for the bra twice so an extra tenner.

I solved the dozens of missing teaspoon thing... they go to school in lunchboxes and never come home. I ended up buying cheap ones 10 at a time from Wilko.

Brand new pack of cat flea stuff. Unwrapped it - next minute it completely vanished. Asked St Anthony, never turned up !

invariably books usually when I have got to last chapter & when I start a new one and am half way through it reappears only for the other book to disappear - I would blame dh but he doesn't like my esoteric (strange) taste in books (just finished factual book "A year Of Ebola"By David Brett-Major - not everybody's taste but really interesting - to me)

Quite a few years ago now DW's mobile phone disappeared. The battery must have run down so we couldn't make it ring. Finally she gave up looking and bought another.

Several months passed. One day, we were going out in her car and I opened the front passenger door to get in, looked down and saw the phone wedged between the seat runner and the door sill.

Thing is, back then, pre-DC, she was fastidious about regularly cleaning out the car and must have done it several times while the phone was missing, and as we usually used her car when together (she has a disability and couldn't drive mine) I must have got in and out of that door a lot.

Someone I'm friends with a fb lost the hose for her hetty hoover. Not the hoover itself, just the hose. Have been tempted to message her on fb asking if she ever found it but I'm on fb friends with her as I sold her a bar is house 🤷🏻‍♀️

My car boot sticky thingies, like this. They were fab for stopping things from slipping around. I took them out to get something big into the boot, I put them safely under the hall table, and never saw them again. I've looked all over the place.

A kitchen knife!! I got a new knife block for Xmas I used one to slice some wrapping paper on Xmas eve and it hadn't been seen since!!

Anyone who is missing a sky remote, if you have sky Q press the button on the front of the box - the remotes have an alarm/ beeper thingy on them to help find them

I honestly thought I was losing my mind.

Car broke down, recovered, worked on, now fine. Picked car up after 2 weeks of driving my dads (a, thank you Daddy. b, yes 2 weeks, it was that bad) and went to put fuel in it. Reached down to pop the cap and..... no button. I thought perhaps I was used to using dads then remembered I hadnt filled his as I dont do much mileage, he keeps his tank full and asked me not to refill as he is fussy about which petrol stations fuel he will use. (I dont know, I really dont, so dont ask). Then I thought that perhaps they had fucked up my car and given me a different one hoping I wouldnt notice....see the "losing my mind" comment, I mean wtf?! So I got the book out and yes, there should have been a button there that was now gone.

After much panic I finally got to speak to the mechanic and he remembered he had to take it out to put a cable in for the cat converter, and had found it after turning the bay upside down. Getting it back tomorrow I hope!

A handmade Christmas table runner that my mum gave me a couple of years ago. I am generally pretty organised and have labelled storage boxes for Christmas things but I have emptied every box and other possible place and it has disappeared off the face of the earth.
