Because I think it’s naff!

She’s only 5, and she want a jojo bow like her friends in school.

I know it’s not the end if the world if she does have one, but I just think they’re so horribly naff and tacky!

I think I’m a snob because I like to go against the grain on what most people like. But I’m not judging.

But you aren't going against the grain on what people like - you are forcing your child to forgo something simple that she would like because you don't want people to judge you! You're making your daughter go without because you fear being seen as 'chavvy' rather than what you define yourself as (i.e an individual who doesn't follow fashions). You know who you are and what you like, so what does it matter if strangers on the train see your child's hair accessory and think it's chavvy?

It’s a hair bow not a baggie of skunk.
She is five so let her act like it and wear sparkly bows if she wants to.

ha, then I am naff. I didn''t know what they were called. We just called them bow clips. We get them cheap from local stalls. Although I do agree that the big ones are tacky. My daughter likes them and wear matching ones with her dresses. They look cute on top of half tied hair.
