Because I think it’s naff!

She’s only 5, and she want a jojo bow like her friends in school.

I know it’s not the end if the world if she does have one, but I just think they’re so horribly naff and tacky!

It would be a very cheap and easy to make her very happy. I think it would be crap to put your sense of fashion above that.

ScafellPoke · 20/02/2019 21:22

Don’t get offended user

My dd's had them.
And I have never drank Carling..

GreenTulips · 20/02/2019 21:25

Get her one of these instead ..... so much cooler than bows

ScafellPoke · 20/02/2019 21:25

You’re right auntie and I felt bad just writing this thread!

Indidn’t actually realise there were branded more expensive ones!... I saw some for £1 wach the other day, so will just get one.

I know my mum used to cringe at my purple chunky cords that cleaned the floor as I walked 😂

ScafellPoke · 20/02/2019 21:27

Oh green they are so much cooler!! I think it’s the fact that they common (as in popular/fashionable, not chavvy!) I’ve never been one for following trends and I’d like to try and instill a bit of that in to dcs

I’m not offended at all. Just think the judgemental/stereotypical comments re: Jojo bows are hilarious.

Motherofcreek · 20/02/2019 21:30

Get it her.

Dd2 walked round in the hideous pink polka dot Spanish high heels mil bought her back from Spain and I cringed every time we was out.

Don't get me started on her frozen coat her bloody dad bought her. She loved it Sad

Shoppingwithmother · 20/02/2019 21:31

Just say no - she’ll forget about it in no time

GregoryPeckingDuck · 20/02/2019 21:32

They remind me of the bows that were popular during the soviet era.

Harleyisme · 20/02/2019 21:33

How about a bow thats different. Theres a lady on facebook page called sunshine bows her bows are beautiful and very different and not so expensive.

GreenTulips · 20/02/2019 21:33

I think they are future land fillers

Look round a school hall you have 30 odd girls at £10 a pop - £300 wasted on silly stuff.

And then out of fashion they go and into the bin

Alexandra2018 · 20/02/2019 21:33

There the in thing st School! My DD has afew there not that bad the pack of smallish ones are ok

BartonHollow · 20/02/2019 21:33

I had to google.

Utterly hideous, but I'm sure she'll grow out of it, and cringe at photos

Good future blackmail for you OP

MorganKitten · 20/02/2019 21:34

I’ll have to tell the mums of the private school theatre school I work with that they are chavs for letting their kids wear them.

ScafellPoke · 20/02/2019 21:34

Hilarious but true though

OP posts:
ScafellPoke · 20/02/2019 21:36

Hey morgan you can still be a chav and be rich. Look at Abbey Clancy

TulipsTulipsTulips · 20/02/2019 21:37

I couldn’t bring myself to buy one. I’d find some other cute hair accessory and get that.

NoKaren · 20/02/2019 21:37

Just buy her one she will love it

Dieu · 20/02/2019 21:38

Oh, for goodness sake. Just buy it.

UserUser123 · 20/02/2019 21:39

True how? So every little girl who wears a Jojo bow is a chav who’s parents drink Carling?

Why would you judge a child or their families because of a bow? Get a grip.

SaucyJack · 20/02/2019 21:46

They’re just hair bobbles. Some of the comments on here say far more about the people making them, than the parents of the kids wearing them.

Having said that, peak Jojo was about 3 years ago. I wouldn’t buy a branded one now as I think they’re on their way out.

ScafellPoke · 20/02/2019 21:46

user I do think you are offended by the comments on here.
Telling someone on mn to get a grip is a defense mechanism and so over used.

OP posts:
ScafellPoke · 20/02/2019 21:48

Also user I think you’ll find it wasn’t me who called them chavvy. I called them tacky, which they are

newnameforthis7 · 20/02/2019 21:49

YABU, she is 5, not 25.

Let her have her jojo bow!
