Listening to Radio 4 at 12:00 today. Programme called The Unbelievable Truth, panellists trying to get 3 truths mixed with ridiculous lies past each other. At the end DM,who has always appeared benign, says which are which. One 'truth' was that wolf packs are lead by the chief sexual predator, fine. Then the foul mouthed fool added 'so are cubs' and by the sound of it a panellist or three tittered.
What a nasty double meaning. Yuk, yuk and yuk.
How dare he insult Scout and Cub leaders who have put up with enough? They are voluntary and give their time to making it possible for kids to have out of school activities and learn first aid and other useful skills.
I hope the BBC make him apologise loud and clear. A money contribution would be good too. Or could he be sued for slander.
I'm upset that a man like that makes grubby fun of people willing to help kids on a regular basis.

It's satire, not always in good taste, but comedy all the same.

I’m a guide leader and know lots of scout leaders. It doesn’t sound that outrageous a joke to me.

I think it’s a reference to a recent case. There have been a fair few cases over the last few years of scout leaders being prosecuted.

It's a joke FFS. Everyone knows that most cub and scout leaders are good, decent people. IT IS A JOKE. I laughed.

YADNBU Calm down. It's a standard joke like Catholic priests. He's not actually saying all cub leaders are definitely peados. Just a dark joke that historically some cub leaders have been.

The scouting organisation is renown for it.

I’m sure there are lots of good leaders too, but it has certainly had a LOT of sexual predators involved.

Some packs have been led by abusers. I don't think the Scouts would be upset by a joke. I hope they'd be more upset that children have suffered because of predatory men.

It's funny because people can see an element of truth in it.

People do wonder about Scout leaders, sports, coaches, teachers etc.

Paedophiles tend to seek out positions where they can groom kids.

I am always aware of myself watching the interacions between adult helpers and the children at my kid's activities and groups.
