I reported 4 posts yesterday eve, all of which were deleted. I wasn't on the threads concerned just browsing through them. That's more than I reported in the last 6 months I think. I was also on the receiving end of stupid comments this week because someone CBA to read the thread and decided I'd said something I hadn't.

I know this subject has been covered previously but am I alone in thinking MN has become increasingly unpleasant lately? There seems to be real spite and nastiness.

Either way, this is the internet and no-one can type anyone to death.

The general response can be summed up as fuck off, why should they. Actually Vicky1990 , the general response was the Beeb tried it and it didn't get enough listeners... And I say this as someone who marvels at the FWR echo-chamber

Haven't read the whole thread (so sorry if this has been said before), but do agree some people post in quite an aggressive manner, and often haven't actually read what is written. Could (almost) forgive them for not agreeing with me, but not for failing to read what is written!! Can't say whether its got worse, as I haven't been here long, but am quite shocked at how unpleasantly some people write.
I often wonder if they just use it as an excuse to have a good row. Probably easier and safer than taking it out on the rest of the family!

Totally agree, spot102. I choose my words with forensic care and still people manage to twist, misinterpret or extrapolate a load of complete fiction from them.
