And don't believe you if you tell them. Facts and laws just seem to be wafted away as irrelevant.

In short: naive, misinformed and single minded with a sprinkling of 🌈 unicorn.

NotSuchASmugMarriedNow1 · 22/01/2019 18:50

No body WANTS no deal.

HTH

User758172 · 22/01/2019 18:50

Not this again.

No Deal is better than the crummy deal negotiated by May. WTO terms are slightly less advantageous but we can negotiate our own trade deals going forward.

WhoWants2Know · 22/01/2019 18:52

Locally it seems that people who voted leave actually meant that they wanted to leave with no deal, despite the consequences.

WhoWants2Know · 22/01/2019 18:53

What I mean to say is that it's not that they don't know what it means- they want it anyway.

Paintingtheroseswhite · 22/01/2019 18:54

I work in business in the North East of England, we have a fair idea what it means (nothing positive believe me) and we are terrified. Overall unemployment may have gone down today but in the North East it went up.

DH was made redundant after Christmas due to banks pulling funding on a Brexit vulnerable company and production shifting to Europe.

I think reality is beginning to dawn in this region amongst the leavers on just what they voted for.

I hope those politicians advocating no deal (Simon Clarke MP, Anne Marie Teveleyan MP I'm looking at you) are prepared to take responsibility for the consequences of their actions if we get no deal - however I suspect not

I think (I, personally) just want out now, and if it means a period of adjustment, I’m willing to take the rough with the smooth in order to facilitate that. I don’t think it will be plain sailing for the next few years, but in the long run it will be worth it. I think it’s a case of short-term pain for long-term gain.

Rhayader · 22/01/2019 18:57

Oh yes of course “anyone who doesn’t believe the exact same thing as me must be stupid” Hmm

@mnhq please let this stay in aibu

DangermousesSidekick · 22/01/2019 18:58

YANBU. Some might be just sick to death of the whole badly-handled farce.
For the rest I can only assume that they don't want us to be able to trade with our major - and geographically closest - trading partner any more, that they don't want us to make up the 40% of food that we can't grow here, that they want that extra 40% of mouths to feed to vanish: in short that they're living in la-la land.

SpeckledDot · 22/01/2019 18:58

The whole thing is just fucking stupid. Leaving is obviously a bad idea, why are we continuing it!

Brexit should be scrapped. Yes, democratic trust is at risk but I'd rather that than having to pay a lot more money for everything, i barely scrape by as it is.

Bombardier25966 · 22/01/2019 19:02

@MrsAriadneOliver Can you be more specific on WTO rules being slightly less advantageous please? For example, how will they affect the import and export of clothing to our major trading partners?

Yanbu

I heard a person the the Jeremy Vone show, explain it very simply.

If we go for no deal, that will last for a day. The very next day we will have to phone the EU and start negotiating “deals” for everything.

Do what is the actual point of a No Deal? [confised]

Fiddie · 22/01/2019 19:05

Sick to fucking death of the whole thing.

Confusedbeetle · 22/01/2019 19:05

NO ONE has the first idea how a no deal would pan out. It is all supposition

Hazardswans · 22/01/2019 19:06

YANBU.

Also remember to email your MP folks. Revoke would be lovely but I'd settle for a Peoples Vote now we've had cross over day.

bellinisurge · 22/01/2019 19:07

"Oh yes of course “anyone who doesn’t believe the exact same thing as me must be stupid” "

Pretty sure there's a consensus on not tanking the economy and not having a functioning food distribution system. As a general point of view.
Even Michael Gove thinks No Deal will do that.
It's not "a different point of view " like I hate beards in men but other people like them. Live and let live, eh? It's not that . It's the opposite of that.

Ffsnosexallowed · 22/01/2019 19:08

A no deal would mean a hard border in Ireland. How the fuck does that benefit anyone??????

Helmetbymidnight · 22/01/2019 19:08

I got a copy of weatherspoon news through the door today. Shock Angry
He is pushing for no deal.

leostar1994 · 22/01/2019 19:09

This is a difficult one to answer because people voted either way based on how they felt in their hearts and I think it's unreasonable to tell people their convictions are wrong.

Helmetbymidnight · 22/01/2019 19:09

Depressing.

To think the only people who want 'Nn Deal' have no idea what this means?
