To find this message from DP a complete turn off

DP sent me a message earlier ‘ are you going to dress sexy tonight?’

I’m in jeans & a jumper waiting for him to come home. I’ll be cooking dinner (again) & he’ll be coming in in his sports kit.

AIBU to find it a turn off ?

StreetwiseHercules, I don't think it's about sexuality. Look at how discussions about video games, football or hobbies like golf or cycling go. If your husband enjoys it, you fucking better put a stop to it.

StreetwiseHercules · 21/01/2019 22:14

Ah, fair point Joan.

NotUmbongoUnchained · 21/01/2019 22:15

Men aren’t allowed to do, think or feel much on mumsnet anymore by the recent threads.

imanoldbattleaxe · 21/01/2019 22:16

I'd have replied yes, I am sexy, I don't need to dress sexy!

ginandbearit · 21/01/2019 22:19

Yup. ..make him feel.bad and small for clumsily expressing his desire for you ..and then wonder why he wont bother anymore and put up another thread about how useless he is ..

TroysMammy · 21/01/2019 22:22

Text him back that you are wearing rubber then greet him at the door with nothing on except a pair of Marigolds.

UniversalAunt · 21/01/2019 22:24

“Sorry no, he’ll be home soon”

Light blue paper & stand back...

Japanesejazz · 21/01/2019 22:25

Yes we must bow down to men and make them feel they are more important than us at all times.
Hope you are comfortable in whatever you chose to wear OP

FlawedAmazon · 21/01/2019 22:33

I'd find it odd because I don't have a DP Grin

Butterfly84 · 21/01/2019 22:33

That would turn me right off.

You should dress sexily when/if you choose to, not when you're told to.

"Are you" and a question mark are not how you give orders

Well it's not how I do it anyway

SchnitzelVonKrumm · 21/01/2019 22:47

“What’s wrong with sexting??”

Nothing. But it's meant to be, y'know, sexy.

SkinnyPete · 21/01/2019 23:06

One way ticket to 'I love you, but I'm not in love with you' please.

There's three answers to this (not verbatim)

  1. (Not in the mood) sorry babe I'm not feeling it tonight. Ask me another night though.
  2. (Annoyed by the question, but feeling flirty). c'mon, you can do better than that ;-)
  3. (Want to make him feel sexually worthless and the long term shit that comes with it). Yer what?! /fuck off you twat/ignore him all night/LTB.
SadOtter · 21/01/2019 23:09

Id text my DH 'You expect me to get dressed?!' and be in my comfiest, slightly scruffy, PJ's by the time he got back knowing full well he'd have taken my text to mean I'd be naked

LellyMcKelly · 21/01/2019 23:09

“I always dress sexy. My Tesco jeans bring all the boys to the yard.”

CurlyhairedAssassin · 21/01/2019 23:24

Why are people calling this sexting? It’s so not! Confused

It’s more or less a command, from him to her to get herself up to HIS required standards before he comes home. It’s not exactly an offer to ravish OP and make her knees tremble, is it?

LiquoricePickle · 21/01/2019 23:27

I'd probably ask "what's in it for me?" and then, yes, I would dress sexily. Keep the spark alive!

Ivgotasecretcanyoukeepit · 21/01/2019 23:42

Oh god, just greet him at the door in some gorgeous underwear with a glass of wine and fuck his brains out.

I’m surprised some of you are married the way you are all going on about an innocent text message. Give the man a break.

TheStoic · 22/01/2019 00:15

Oh god, just greet him at the door in some gorgeous underwear with a glass of wine and fuck his brains out.

Ooh yes. Then give him his pipe and slippers, and make sure his dinner doesn't go cold.

delboysskinandblister · 22/01/2019 00:21

I'd find it odd because I don't have a DP Grin

Grin
AornisHades · 22/01/2019 00:33

I can do that while you shower and put on your best suit.

Tweety1981 · 22/01/2019 00:45

Give him a break , he’s flirting with u ! Enjoy it and flirt back ...

Pinkbells · 22/01/2019 01:08

'Yes, I'm off out now, see you later'

Topseyt · 22/01/2019 01:36

It would make me cringe. I'd text back a rather unimaginative "no".

I like some of the responses on here, but that whole type of game isn't my thing really.
