...and how much exercise you got?

Very interested to hear what amount and type of food people's daily diet consists of,and whether it's obviously a lot more or less than I eat, or more nutritious or not.

I had a day without exercise so far, total consumption two slices of home-bake bread, a cup large mug of tea, and 2 x that of coffee.

Planning to eat a jacket pot for dinner now, with beans and a little grated cheese. Oh, and an orange for breakfast.

I am a few stone overweight, from Christmas excesses, but steadily losing it. (Not mentally, I mean weight!) Grin

@smotheroffive I can easily drink a bottle of red to myself, a bit too easily hence the weight gain. Drink a bottle of red then order takeaway or eat more of the kids treats! 😂😂 Last night was the first weekend night that I haven't drunk in aaaaages, am really trying not to drink just for the sake of it now

OwlinaTree · 19/01/2019 08:25

Yesterday
B Berries, oats, yoghurt, banana.
L salad with chicken and egg, pear, 2 small apples.
S pear and apple
S 2 ryvita, cottage cheese and pickle.
D burger (no bun), cheese, salad, home made chips.
S yoghurt and v small milky bar.
Coffee and tea through the day, water with meals.

No formal exercise but about 12,000 steps. Fit bit ran out of batteries when I'd done 11,300 ish but I would estimate that many!

Haisuli · 19/01/2019 08:38

Snack: a few salted peanuts

Lunch: most of a packet of naice ham

Supper will be salmon pate with veg and probably more cheese

I’ve not had much veg today - dirty Keto day which I try to avoid but it’s been super busy. No exercise - will have done 10k steps by the end of the day.

Lunch - 350g Spaghetti pomadora & 40g ciabatta
Dinner - Acti fry chips, cauliflower & chicken thighs (skinless)

It’s 1400 calories which is my aim each day to lose weight each week.

itssquidstella · 19/01/2019 18:38

Today:

Jordan's strawberry crisp cereal with blueberries and semi-skimmed milk

45 minute gym class

Small mocha

Half a thing of sushi from Waitrose; one and a half crackers with cheese (cheddar and Stilton) and chutney); small handful of peanuts

About to gorge myself on takeaway Thai

Will run tomorrow - I exercise five days a week, mixture of circuits classes, yoga and running with the odd swim/bike ride thrown in.

I eat a LOT but very little chocolate/cake type stuff and tend to avoid refined carbs (so almost never eat white rice, pasta or any bread apart from rye bread).

itssquidstella · 19/01/2019 18:39

I'm also working my way through a bottle of red wine...

I have four or five dry days a week but I do like a drink at the weekend!

lanbro · 19/01/2019 18:43

Today...
5 coffees
2 teas
Bacon sandwich
Mint Chocolate Brookie - homemade
Cheese and tomato pizza (thin base)
A Wispa

Will likely have a couple of Budweisers later and possibly another wispa, 5k run planned for the morning

itsallgravybaby · 19/01/2019 18:45

I'm also a one-meal-a-day eater.

I aim to get my daily calories into one meal and then nothing until the next day.

So typically it could be a massive salad with meat and a nice dressing or fish and veggies and potatoes, or a big big bowl of chilli, and usually a bit of dark chocolate and almond butter afterwards :)

The meal I aim for about 1000 calories so it feels really sinful and delicious!

Megan2018 · 19/01/2019 18:54

I have a stinking cold so not at my best (also 5 weeks pg). I have had:

2 pain au chocolat (eaten in car on way to yard)
1 small bottle lucozade (very bad but it is my poorly thing)
Half a tub of Chicken and veg soup (bought, fresh) with a cheese toastie (small sized bread)
Dinner will be Tesco prawn masala and rice and some samosas/pakoras.
Have only drunk water apart from the lucozade.

Exercise wise, I have mucked out my horse and been for a short hack (45 mins), then brought 6 horses in, so a bit of walking to field. Pretty inactive but can’t breathe!

DialsMavis · 19/01/2019 18:56

Yesterday I had
B: coffees with almond milk
L: m& s bean soup (whole carton)
Dinner: corn cobette, guacamole, salad, 2 X small slices of low fat garlic bread, half a pizza made on thin flat read with tomato sauce, vegan cheese, olives, and sun-dried tomatoes, and some mushrooms

Then went to a friend's and probably drunk a bottle of wine or not far off.

Loads of water

Did 13,000 steps some of which was c25k but only at the beginning so only 8 mins running.

Today

B: at lunchtime: vivera vegan kebab chunks, broccoli, mange tout and spinach with zesty bean quinoa pouch

RebeccaWrongDaily · 19/01/2019 18:58

i had a few tablespoons of rhubarb/ vanilla yoghurt (full fat) a cup of tea.
a coffee while watching DS at football
veg soup for lunch with a couple of slices of soda bread with butter and cheddar on.
half an apple with DS. a satsuma. cup of tea.
Dinner is burgers (burgers, halloumi, onions, bacon, mushrooms) on brioche buns with salad.
Going to the pub, not decided if I'll drive or not so I will either drink a load of red wine (or nurse a soft drink)

Yesterday I had the same breakfast. about 4 or five cups of tea, Beans on a jacket potato for lunch with salad. Dinner was Chicken in spicy seasoning, salad, coleslaw and a handful of chips nicked off the childrens plates (about 4?) in a slice of buttered tiger bread for a sandwich.

So much bread- I love bread. All the bread and all the potatoes

DialsMavis · 19/01/2019 18:58

Today I have only done 5,000 steps and won't be much more as working. Probably finish on 7000 and some housework.

I count steps on phone so it only counts those I do outside, not at home or at work (sedentary job)

Fantail · 19/01/2019 19:05

Gluten-free waffles with sugar free syrup and blueberries. Cup of tea (no coffee in the house!!)

Espresso coffee with a dash of milk.

1/2 kransky sausage and Camembert cheese. Cherries

Espresso with dash of milk.

Beef kofta, roast chicken leg, lettuce, tomato, cucumber, eggplant dip

Coconut yogurt with coconut chips and blueberries.

Pretty normal day. T1 diabetic and a low carb diet helps hugely with control. Has to be reasonably high fat otherwise I struggle to hold on to weight.

No exercise. But swimming tomorrow.

BramRang · 19/01/2019 21:35

My day was not indicative of normal (promise!) but here goes:

Pre breakfast: kiwi and a tbsp of full fat Greek yoghurt
Exercise: 20 min walk, 1hr floor Pilates, 20 min walk
Breakfast: milky coffee, OJ and two buttery, buttery crumpets
Exercise: chasing 2 y/o around a park 1hr
Lunch: crisps, bread roll, chocolate buttons and a Pepsi Max, fruit tea
Dinner: spinach, chicken and mushroom curry with naan
Dessert (not eaten yet): more chocolate and some berries..

I'm overweight but am losing steadily and slowly. I stopped dieting in September and am trying to change my mindset around food. I lose about 0.5lbs a week just trying to be sensible and letting myself eat previously thought of "bad foods". Gives me more motivation to exercise too somehow.

Smotheroffive · 19/01/2019 23:23

This thread has got under my skin! As today I have been noticing whatever I eat and drink and also recalling some of the very healthy food stuffs others have posted about.

Today I spent a couple of hours outbinbthe cold and dark across fields (for my exercise, certainly not aerobic), plus rearranging corner of house and building flat pack, none of which I would count as exercise particularly.

B. 1 slice h.made organic white loaf, toasted, thinly buttered, organic marmalade, rooibos T, black
L. Whole organic orange, custard danish
Lg fresh coffee, ss milk.
D. Mixed fish(ermans) pie, with cup of s.corn and lg sliced parsnip baked with parmesan.
Lg glass of white wine, half of which I just spilt! (On sofa! Grr)

Will probably add a replacement-for-lost-wine instead, and handful of pistachios.

Can't stop thinking about the single Percy that pp had!

OP posts:
Smotheroffive · 19/01/2019 23:25

2 tspns sugar (with T n coffee)

OP posts:
Madein1995 · 20/01/2019 01:41

smother don't worry, all health benefits of single Percy have been overridden by today. It's been a hungry day, think I'm due on my period so been grumpy and craving sweets. Am trying my hardest not to feel guilty (why do I feel it? I know it's ok, that it wasn't for the sake of it and I'll be back healthy tomorrow. But still the guilt). Am telling myself it all balances over the week and provided I'm sensible it will not matter. The big thing is moving on.

Anyway.

Alpen bar and coffee

Another coffee

2 moam sweets

Soba noodle pot

3 fruit pastilles

Fibre one bar (don't usually snack between lunch and dinner, but was up at 5 so lunch was midday and tea not until 8pm)

Tiny portion of pork , rice and veg. Tried new recipe which I wasn't fussed on and left most of it. Probably explains snacking later

Bag of French fries

Salted caramel flap jack

Severely limited in any nutrients or real food. Have done 5k too.

Tomorrow an taking dog for long walk. Long lie in probably so no breakfast. Roast pork dinner for lunch. Prob have wrap for tea, yogurt and fruit for afters and fruit for snacks afterwards. If the chive dip in fridge isn't gone off, may have some with cucumber sticks instead

halfwitpicker · 20/01/2019 01:48
