...and how much exercise you got?

Very interested to hear what amount and type of food people's daily diet consists of,and whether it's obviously a lot more or less than I eat, or more nutritious or not.

I had a day without exercise so far, total consumption two slices of home-bake bread, a cup large mug of tea, and 2 x that of coffee.

Planning to eat a jacket pot for dinner now, with beans and a little grated cheese. Oh, and an orange for breakfast.

I am a few stone overweight, from Christmas excesses, but steadily losing it. (Not mentally, I mean weight!) Grin

A smoked salmon and cream cheese sandwich for lunch.

Vegetarian haggis, neeps and tatties for dinner! Was delicious.
There's a jam roly poly and custard in the fridge with my name on too (I'm only just getting over the flu and wanted comfort Grin)
Exercise wise, just walking: my fitbit is showing 27,000 steps for today thanks to the school run x 4.

Cereal & milk
2 cups of tea
Chicken Fajita thing in Costa
small skinny hot choc in Costa
caramel/creme egg walking home starving from Tesco, having been to the gym
2 egg omelette with a bit of cheese and sundried tomatoes. The sundried tomatoes were a mistake, because even though I'd drained them, there was still loads of oil that went all over my omelette (was using 1 cal spray)

I suppose only 1 or 1.5 portions of fruit & veg.

Not the best day but nowhere near my worst.

Recovering from injury, so no running today. But I do normally run 3 times a week with a couple of classes on top.
Today was:

B: 2 x Gluten Free small loaf slices with a Dairylea light triangle and two boiled eggs.

L: Leftover bolognese from Tuesdays tea. Cooked with 5% mince and no fat. 50g GF pasta and a little grated cheese.

D: 2/3 Gammon steak (shared with DS), egg, mushrooms, tomatoes, baked beans and a small handful of oven chips.

I don't normally eat that many eggs in a day though Smile

Itsmenotyouisntit · 18/01/2019 20:16

Smotheroffive · 18/01/2019 20:39

Impressed at all the salad eating in winter..anyone ever heard of warm and cold foods?

Lots either donybdribj beverages or just haven't said; on the car of itbwe don't seem to be a nation of tea drinkers anymore!

My tea was herbal, should have put and had half milk and a sugar eeek

I would definitely be counting on feet all day in care work as exercise! I think it can be very physical.

Also want to know what actual food is involved in the one meal a day Pete. A non-judgemental thread, so I wasn't expecting anyone needing to defend their choices, as literally trying to get a straw poll really of food and drinks consumption and what exercise.

Also, some included alcohol, which I hadn't thought of - none for me today.

Greek yogurt seems quite common.

I am including more salad in my next delivery and having that for my lunch more regularly.

Not all mentioned whether dieting, or diet for life, which is useful to know.

....and...baby due tomorrow! Oooo...do update us, how exciting... You need to be prepping, absolutely, tis the right thing to do!

Eaten quite a lot today but Friday is a "long run" day for me (training for a half marathon) so need plenty of fuel before & after (ha ha!!)

Breakfast bowl with overnight oats, homemade nut granola, sliced banana, blueberries, plain yoghurt

14km run

Lunch - homemade red pepper, squash & sweet potato soup, plus a sandwich made by my lovely DH with avocado, feta & sliced toms

Dinner large salad with rocket & watercress, lentils dressed with homemade pesto, pumpkin seeds, more feta, soft boiled egg & cold salmon, lemon dressing. Half a mango for pudding.

I've also had a couple of mugs (full fat milk) of tea & loads of water.

The last six months - since I've got more serious about the running - I've been trying to up my fruit & veg and protein. I think my meals are quite large but I never ever snack because I never feel hungry between meals. Works for me.

ILikeyourHairyHands · 18/01/2019 20:44

Nothing! I've been running around like a blue-arsed fly all day. Am about to have home made pizza and a ceasar salad.

That's not typical though. We've had some windows replaced today so the kitchen's been in chaos from this morning and when I got back at about two I was too busy sorting everything out and didn't stop until about 7.30.

I'm ready to gnaw an arm off...
