...and how much exercise you got?

Very interested to hear what amount and type of food people's daily diet consists of,and whether it's obviously a lot more or less than I eat, or more nutritious or not.

I had a day without exercise so far, total consumption two slices of home-bake bread, a cup large mug of tea, and 2 x that of coffee.

Planning to eat a jacket pot for dinner now, with beans and a little grated cheese. Oh, and an orange for breakfast.

I am a few stone overweight, from Christmas excesses, but steadily losing it. (Not mentally, I mean weight!) Grin

Oh and I've walked my dogs twice - 30 minutes morning & afternoon. They like to sniff so there's not a massive amount of exercise involved!

MyPetRatCalledNat · 18/01/2019 20:45

Just some bran flakes and almond milk

Sexnotgender · 18/01/2019 20:46

Shall try and remember to update when baby is here. Not really feeling like he’s up for shifting any time soon thoughHmm

D - just now, homemade veg curry & Wholegrain rice

S - drinking gin & slimline tonics

Gotstuckwiththisname · 18/01/2019 20:51

Forgot about exercise - kettlebells & I've got just over 13000 steps.

C0untDucku1a · 18/01/2019 20:52

Endless cups of tea. Semi skimmed milk and no sugar or sweetener.

A tangerine and an apple.

A quorn ham and cheese spread sandwich for lunch.

Two sliced tomatoes and mozzarella cheese with balsamic vinager dressing

A packet of crisps.

No actual exercise today. My job means im walking or stood about all day. I sit down for about an hour in total in a working day.

Itsmenotyouisntit · 18/01/2019 20:55

pete I'm trying to adopt a similar way of eating atm (apart from today's fail, I find it really hard to be strict with myself when I'm at work, I'm much better when I'm at home because I meal plan and dont have crap in the house..)
I noticed I'm not really hungry in the morning so I eat at around 11am and I'll have what I normally have for breakfast which will be eggs with toast.
Then I'll just have a normal meal of what ever I want and leave it at that. Like you said it's much less stressful than calorie counting or trying to make three meals out of Xamount of calories or whatever. I wish I could just have the one meal (it would be mighty too 😏) but I haven't got the willpower for that.
Whoever decided we need three meals a day anyway?? Yeah maybe eat three times a day but I think people got confused along the way and started to eat like a king at every meal time 🤣

I worked out my overall calories for today's craziness btw and it's 2600 or there abouts 😳 im hoping all the running around i did might have burnt most of that off though..
Really hoping.. 🤞😬

DoubleNegativePanda · 18/01/2019 20:57

It's been a bad day food wise for me.

Chocolate muffin mid-morning for breakfast
No tea or coffee, never had time.
Frito pie with brisket and pinto beans for lunch (it's a Texan thing) that was entirely too salty. Ate half and it was still more than was good for me.
1 diet Dr. Pepper

When I think about it, the frito pie is probably horrifying to anyone outside this particular area of TX. It's frito corn chips (crisps) on a plate or in a bowl, with chopped bbq brisket on, then pinto beans, then jalapeno creamed corn, then cheddar cheese, then pickled jalapenos. I bloody love it but it's very bad for me. Usually frito pie is fritos, beef chili and cheese...don't know why ours is so crazy.

DoubleNegativePanda · 18/01/2019 20:57

And I've been sat at my desk all day, so doubly bad!

ILikeyourHairyHands · 18/01/2019 20:58

I'd typically have eggs of some description for breakfast and a large (500ml) mug of earl grey, lunch is either salad (but not a punishment salad, there's always bacon or cheese, smoked fish or prawns and either a creamy or an oil-based dressing), soup or a massive sandwich.

Dinner is extremely varied could be anything really, I bloody love cooking and food so am very eclectic when it comes to what I'm eating in the evening. It probably balances out health-wise and it's always cooked from 'scratch'.

Booze, three bottles of wine a week on average.

Activity levels? Varies, not sedentary, but not a powerhouse either. I don't exercise as such, I walk a lot, swim, and am quite active around the house.

BMI 20.3. I'm tall, broad shouldered and have always been quite strong and muscular if that helps!

ILikeyourHairyHands · 18/01/2019 20:59

Oh, and I always have full-fat everything.

TeddyIsaHe · 18/01/2019 21:01

I was fine until this evening.

Greek yogurt, berries, no-sugar granola and a squirt of honey with peach kombucha to drink.

A big salad with salmon, seeds, avo, coconut chips, tomatoes etc for lunch.

Lamb shashlik, saag aloo, chicken pakoras, peshwari naan and cucumber raita for dinner Grin

ILikeyourHairyHands · 18/01/2019 21:02

And about 6 large mugs or earl grey with ff milk (no.sugar), one or two cappuccinos (with sugar and ff milk), a pint or so of sparkling water and wine at the weekends. No other fluids other than the occasional coke with tons of ice. Probably about two cans a week.

Nnnnnineteen · 18/01/2019 21:06

Hours of driving today, so only 4500 steps so far.
Food:
B - decaff coffee, soy milk
L - some celery, cucumber and tomatoes
D- fish with big green salad, glass of red.
2 litres water ish so far.

RedDwarves · 18/01/2019 21:09

Just chocolate. Blush Shameful as it's only 8am here.

But I am going to go for a swim this morning (1km but really going hard - I've been a swimmer my entire life, so it's not a leisurely swim) and I will walk the dogs for around 5km.

inthekitchensink · 18/01/2019 21:09

Crappy with cold so made chicken, veg & orzo soup for dinner, followed by a brownie & ice cream. During the day had a banana, some Parma ham, cheddar & a few squid rings & tomatoes from a deli salad, and a smoothie. Bit of a weird food day!

RedPanda2 · 18/01/2019 21:10

Two slices of toast with Vegemite.
5 x cups of tea throughout the day with milk.

SirBobblyofSock · 18/01/2019 21:20

I'm doing veganuary

Veg chilli and rice for lunch

Small Handful plain crisps and 2x rich tea biscuits for snacks

Dahl, small portion brown rice, half a naan bread for dinner. Small glass red wine.

Swam 64 lengths and walked the dogs. My watch says I've burned 835 active calories and I usually burn 1200 resting.

DaedricLordSlayer · 18/01/2019 21:31

I've been all different sizes over the past 20 odd years, I gave up with diets in early my 20s. I eat what I like when I like.
