By the way I am not for another Brexit referendum but I am seeing a lot about it on the news/social media and it got be wondering what everyone would vote if it did happen and what did you vote before? I voted remain and would vote remain again.

Absolutely YES

Voted remain back in 2016, would vote REMAIN again!

SweetNorthernRose · 15/01/2019 21:37

@MrsAriadneOliver it would actually be the third referendum...

elvis86 · 15/01/2019 21:41

"And the Tories will not fund those areas which have historically been funded by the EU."

That's a reason not to vote Tory, rather than a reason to vote Remain.

The electorate have more direct influence over spending priorities and decisions of our own government, than they do over EU policy as citizens of a single member state.

Jellykat · 15/01/2019 21:45

Remain then, and even more strongly remain now!

Moussemoose · 15/01/2019 21:46

Not under FPTP.

Only key constituencies matter. South Wales, Stoke, Sunderland no one cares how they vote. They won't have policies shaped for their benefit.

The European wide electorate is more left of centre. European governments tend towards intervention. The EU - while a long way from perfect - acts as a buffer against the U.K.'s obsession with doing what big business wants.

The EU does support business but not unfettered capitalism. It's not brilliant but it's better than the alternative.

Ribbonsonabox · 15/01/2019 22:27

Yes I'd still vote to remain.

Footloose80 · 15/01/2019 22:31

Still remain.

KennDodd · 15/01/2019 22:45

@elvis86
You sounded so reasonable until this.

I don't think it's right that the rest of the UK should be held over a barrel because of the Irish border

Menarefrommarsitwouldseem · 15/01/2019 22:57

I voted remain first time around.
Would vote leave now.

My 2 best friends didn't vote first time around. They'd vote leave should there be another one.

Menarefrommarsitwouldseem · 15/01/2019 22:59

I believe should their be another vote.

Leave would have far more votes than the first time.

Menarefrommarsitwouldseem · 15/01/2019 22:59

*there

toastfiend · 15/01/2019 23:00

Remain then, remain now with even more conviction.

TidaQuel · 15/01/2019 23:08

Always remain

katekat383 · 15/01/2019 23:53

Remain is the intelligent choice.

CosmicComet · 15/01/2019 23:56

I voted Leave. I would probably vote Remain now, since it’s become apparent that Leave will not achieve what I thought it would.

GlitterStick · 15/01/2019 23:57

Remain is the intelligent choice

That kind of attitude is why it's such a fucking mess.
I say this as someone who voted Remain.
People thinking they're better than others or more superior and the only ones worth listening to.

Footloose80 · 16/01/2019 06:57

Not all left leaning people voted remain you know. The biggest Labour Party supporter in my family voted leaving and the Goodbye EU which used to be on Facebook book was extremely right so g and very anti labour.
Brexit has nothing to do with party politics. Our politicians should be getting together to get the best deal for the country rather than what they are doing now.

Footloose80 · 16/01/2019 06:57

Sorry autocorrect.

Slamadramafamalam · 16/01/2019 07:12

I would vote to remain, the same as my original vote. I think we should have another referendum with mandatory participation.

Coffeebean76 · 16/01/2019 07:17

Remain again. How anyone can see that Leave was a good decision given the mess we are in astounds me.

SillySallySingsSongs · 16/01/2019 07:22

Not all left leaning people voted remain you know.

This is why it isn't s left right issue.

Well known far left wingers that were leavers include George Galloway, Dennis Skinner etc and those that think Corbyn is a remainer have their heads in the clouds.

madeyemoodysmum · 16/01/2019 07:24

Leave and leave again I think

I knew it would be tough. Granted not this ridiculous but still tough going.

The EU are pretty much over. I predict in 20 years they will be gone I’d rather get out before that happens.

Helmetbymidnight · 16/01/2019 07:29

I now know 5 leave voters who’ve died (all elderly) since the ref.
The demographics are such that remain is more likely to win next time- which of course is why brexiteers continue to talk about the will of the people yet resist going back to the people.

Footloose80 · 16/01/2019 07:32

I was replying to someone up thread to was commenting on the left wing bias of this site. This has nothing to do with party politics.

FeminaSum · 16/01/2019 07:33

Leave then, leave now.
