Just re-watching it here on Gold. Jean and Dolly have to be my favourites. They definitely had some of the best lines.

Dolly: Who has sex on Christmas morning?
Jean: The Dalai Lama
Dolly: Well! He must peel his sprouts the night before!

And, discussing Jean's relationship with Stan.

Dolly: Is he laying your new lino then?
Jean: He's laying anything he wants to lay!

Hilarious

It was ok, of it's time but hardly what I'd call 'hilarious' . Unto each their own though. Give me The Thick of It any day of the week!

I love Dinnerladies and can watch it on a loop. It's one of my favourite sitcoms.

Victoria Wood was an absolute genius.

Also the scene where they have to choose sizes for new uniform and are all trying to hide their preferred size and Tony yells "Jean! Dolly's changed hers to a medium, do you want to change yours as well?"

I used to watch this with my mum when I was having a tough time at high school. It's a program I have wonderful memories of because it was my time with her that felt safe and happy. It's hilarious, and lovely.
