Just re-watching it here on Gold. Jean and Dolly have to be my favourites. They definitely had some of the best lines.

Dolly: Who has sex on Christmas morning?
Jean: The Dalai Lama
Dolly: Well! He must peel his sprouts the night before!

And, discussing Jean's relationship with Stan.

Dolly: Is he laying your new lino then?
Jean: He's laying anything he wants to lay!

Jean discussing her ex husband with Bren

Bren: "So the earth didn't move?"
Jean: "Even the headboard didn't move"

Hilarious

Arghhh - Any baby of Petula’s would look like something out of the Beano!

Love dinner ladies

The Christine episode;
Twinkle: oh god Bren what's that?
Bren: have a whiff of raw bacon, it takes the edge off

Love the millennium episode when Bren talks about the aeroplane

Of Christine's flatulence:

Bren: It might be nerves.
Twinkle: It might be mushy peas!

I love Stan. The episode when his dad died and he read the poem makes cry, ‘Always set the table, even if it’s just for you.’

But then this makes me howl,

‘It's one of several neglected areas in my life. I've got no sex life, no frying pan and I'm halfway through a tube of toothpaste I absolutely cannot stand.’

Just watching Vera- who'd have thought that Clint would become a detective?

I enjoy it.

I love Dinnerladies too. Perfect comedy, gentle but hilarious.

I often have to stop myself saying "Alright, keep your scrotum on", whenever anyone chivvies me along.

Loved Brens Malapropisms - "What were they called? What are them things like cucumbers?...Suffragettes!"

I love it and I love this thread. Beautifully written makes me laugh and cry. One of the finest comedies ever.
