I've lost 2 toenails one to stubbed toe one to some numpty stepping on my foot in steel toecap boots! The ingrown toenails were far worse! Every step a stab!
Not something one can do to oneself but in terms of worst pain ever - twisted ovary!
I've lost 3 babies and that includes an ectopic, had pleural pneumonia, endo, migraines and a 28 hour pain relief free labour - twisted ovary BY FAR the worst pain EVER.
However close second - when I burnt my mouth on soup at school and couldn't get to a cold drink fast enough by time I did tongue and roof of mouth were PEELING! Couldn't eat or drink anything that wasn't very cold for weeks!
Lemon juice or vinegar or bleach in a paper cut is pretty sore too but quite short lived.
To the pp with the corneal abrasion "issues" NEVER watch final destination 5!
Once had a coffee table that no matter where I put it I kept hitting the corner into the side of my knee! I eventually conceded and got rid (I'd searched high and low for it because it fitted my then 50's style living room).
Also - when you sit on a sofa and accidentally sit on the support in the middle right on your coccyx! Nobody breathes in harder than when they do this!
Room101 degloving injuries are the WORST to witness and really hard to treat. It really bugs me when I see parents allowing or WORSE encouraging their kids to treat escalators and travelators like bloody toys! They are basically huge, powerful people shredders! I would love there to be more screenings of the public service video that shows how dangerous they are. And let me just say - this is the LEAST damaging injury they could get! I've seen the results of a child wearing sandals not stepping off in time. The emergency prevention cut off doesn't always work quickly enough.

Sinusitis! Omg yes! I've had it for years, dd had her first bout recently (previously somewhat less than sympathetic of mine) she thought she was having a migraine and described to me, I sussed it was sinusitis and gave her a sudafed - cue cleared sinuses and coughing up crap! She promises now to be more understanding when I get my every bloody month in winter bouts! (Yes I've been referred to ent etc I have a deviated and enlarged septum which could be operated on but only 50/50 chance of improvement or MUCH Worse. Uncles had the surgery and regrets so I've decided not to)
The best one was my ex though. His first migraine he LITERALLY thought he was dying. I was saying it was a migraine, he wouldn't listen to me. Went Drs who of course dx migraine, one dose of meds and right as rain (wish that happened for me!) at this point I had migraines (plural) every month due to hormones/undx endo - again he was not exactly sympathetic, even though his mother also a sufferer (but much less frequently). After this he was MUCH more sympathetic.
If you can get people to empathise with a similar experience it can be useful. Pre dx my dad didn't really appreciate how painful my periods were. We both suffer from truly horrendous heartburn/painful hiccups/trapped wind, one time he asked me to try and help him understand how bad the period pain was, I said something along lines of:
"Ok imagine the worst trapped wind you've ever had X at least 3, PLUS heartburn, PLUS painful hiccups, PLUS back pain, PLUS thigh pain like you've been doing loads of stairs the day before, PLUS migraine, PLUS low blood sugar like you've not eaten for over 24 hours, PLUS dizzy spells... And you're getting close" his face? 😱😱😱
And yes the twisted ovary STILL worse!
