Stub your toe. Stubbed little toe earlier on the table leg. Of course no shoes or slippers on to cushion the blow. Air very quickly turned blue Blush followed by toe turning a lovely shade of bluey/purple. Nice 9 hour shift later and it is bloody agony.

I’ve dislocated my shoulder a fair few times and that’s unpleasant in the extreme.
There’s lots of swearing and some tears, I don’t mind admitting.

And the amount of people who ask me ‘is that painful?’ 🤦‍♀️

Flowerfae · 09/01/2019 08:03

Some of these are awful, the toe being kicked off especially. For me it was a blood clot in the Vena Cava a week after having a baby, it wasn't a big clot (otherwise I'd probably be dead) but it hurt like hell and it happened really suddenly with no symptoms before other than tiredness which I'd put down to having a baby.

YesitsJacqueline · 09/01/2019 08:06

Ruptured ovarian cyst = Hollywood wax. It's a close one! I'd take labour over those two any time.

ChairmanMiaow123 · 09/01/2019 08:06

flumpy, i’ve had a kidney infection too, that was pretty awful.
When I managed to produce enough wee for the urine test, the colour of it looked like cloudy English mustard.
Even the nurse thought it was gross.

Grim.

marvellousnightforamooncup · 09/01/2019 08:07

I'll never forget the pain of breastfeeding with cracked nips. I'd rather walk the length of a kid's bedroom full of Lego in bare feet.

NameChangeOhNameChange1 · 09/01/2019 08:08

Watching Brexit unfold.

The political stubbed toe, if you will

LittleCandle · 09/01/2019 08:09

Breaking my coccyx. That point of maximum bend between sitting and standing - the thought still makes me sweat!

Right now, its my sore right thumb, which is impacting every single thing I do. I can barely fasten/unfasten my bra, pick up cups (or anything else for that matter!) and aches even when I'm no using it.

I agree with broken toes. Same horse broke the same toe twice in different ways. I would also add getting whacked across the boobs by a horse's head (he was being affectionate!) when you have your period.

Impicciona · 09/01/2019 08:10

Ruptured ectopic was incredibly painful. So was kneeling on a nail that went right through my knee.

However I'd gladly do both of these, at the same time, whilst in active labour than face another gallbladder attack.

DoingMyBest2010 · 09/01/2019 08:11

Stepping on an upturned plug. OMG. I felt sick for a loooonnngg time afterwards. Worst pain ever. Worse than childbirth.

KitKat1985 · 09/01/2019 08:12

Severe back muscle spasms after I slipped disc. Honestly was worse than labour.

Other memorable mentions:

Slamming car door onto my finger.

Falling over in the bathroom and banging the eye socket on the corner of the radiator.

Trying to breastfeed with a severely cracked nipple.

ChairmanMiaow123 · 09/01/2019 08:17

purplecat, i had an epileptic fit, fell down the stairs and cracked 2 bloody ribs.

Talk about adding insult to injury!

And then during a different fit, i clenched my teeth really hard and fractured my jaw. 🤦‍♀️

And then after yet another fit, i poured a kettle of boiling water down my left thigh.

I stupidly didn’t get it seen to straight away (I felt like it wasn’t that bad at the time - I know better now!), went to A&E and needed a Tetanus shot and 2 lots of antibiotics cos it went seriously manky.

cocodash · 09/01/2019 08:20

ouch ouch ouch

ripping a nail off lower than your finger tip. oooooowwwwwwwww

drinkswineoutofamug · 09/01/2019 08:30

Rolling an ICU bed over my foot, ripping off my toe nail, the day before I was going on holiday. It then got infected and exploded with puss.

Walking into a tow bar.

The pain and pressure in my head and ear before my eardrum perforated.

Fracturing my ankle but not going a&e till the following day as it was the final of I'm a celeb Hmm

Wisdom teeth.

Gemgems1518 · 09/01/2019 08:34

Banging your head on the metal frame of bunk beds whilst trying to change the bastard bedding and then walking head first into the door of the same room because head hurts to much to look where your going. (the kids who live in said bunk bed are now responsible for changing the sheets).

Being headbutted in the nose by child when you wear glasses is also fucking painful (tbf without glasses hurts just as much, I've experienced both)

Rudgie47 · 09/01/2019 08:36

@Ifionlyknewthenwhatiknownow3, I've had the corneal abrasion as well caused by a big bramble whacking me in the eye .I had to go to A and E and people were asking me in the street if I was o.k because tears were streaming down my face. It took about 3 years to heal and I had to go to an eye clinic where I got special eye creams.

BarbarianMum · 09/01/2019 08:37

I stubbed my toe and broke it. Indescribably painful, far worse than labour (and my labours were not great).

If there is worse pain in the world then Id be very grateful not to experience it.

Theunreasonableone · 09/01/2019 08:45

I had a stomach ulcer after a c section with DD2 (because of painkillers). Absolutely dreadful! All I could do was howl on the bed in pain. It felt like someone was pulling my stomach out through my back.

OhMyGodTheyKilledKenny · 09/01/2019 08:49

Trapping the tips of your fingers between the inner and outer door panels of an integrated fridge as you close it.

MadeleineMaxwell · 09/01/2019 08:50

Chickenpox at 33. With psoriasis. I'm still slightly traumatised...

theredjellybean · 09/01/2019 09:00

I know I should not laugh but for a wierd reason this thread is making me chuckle.
Especially the poster who wouldn't go to a and e with broken ankle because the final of its a cleb was on... Love a bit of misplaced bravery.
I am sending sympathy to you all and hope you find solace in the fact I have been cheered up by your stories of disaster

labazsisgoingmad · 09/01/2019 09:01

gall bladder horrific
digging the garden put fork straight through my foot
dropped fridge on my big toe nail was hanging off gritted teeth and pulled it off in the end

Bonnetdedeuce · 09/01/2019 09:03

Dry socket! Had never heard of it beforehand. Bastard!
Chopping toe in half with hollow tine lawn aerator. Bastard!
DH had a fully ruptured achillies tendon. Bastard! —injury not DH—
Holding onto pan handle for about 4 seconds on stovetop forgetting it was just out of the oven...lava. Bastard!

Timmytoo · 09/01/2019 09:03

Holding a colander underneath with your hand whilst pouring a boiling pot of spaghetti into it to drain! Not my finest moment of common sense Blush

Worst for me besides toe stubbing, is being hurt under your finger nail ouweee!!

ladybee28 · 09/01/2019 09:08

I'm having to read this thread in tiny bursts – my whole body is reacting to each post! You poor, brave people... yeowches!

ManchesterMum63 · 09/01/2019 09:09

That test they do to see if you have carpal tunnel syndrome... A taser-like instrument that sends an electric current (shockConfused) up your arm to see 'how far it goes'🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️
