^That.
It's all cliques and people replying to a post and then being ignored.

OP posts:
ItsQuietTime · 06/01/2019 13:57

Sorry that should have said *responded to or ignored

Also I don't assume no one's read my response just because no one responded directly to it.

Florries · 06/01/2019 13:57

On Wednesdays we wear pink.

BlackPrism · 06/01/2019 13:57

Cliques? I don't know any cliques..? I only recognise about 3 usernames anyway

GobblersKnob · 06/01/2019 13:58

Maybe you're not being controversial enough op?

Go start a thread in AIBU saying vaccination is a crock of shit, or SAHM are lazy feckers or WOHM are neglectful child abandoners, or that those on benefits should sell their big telly AND their goat and stop living off of the state, or that MN is not what it used to be, or that you just bought a £900 handbag, what other bag would go well with it?

nakedscientist · 06/01/2019 13:58

OP this is not true. People mainly "reply" if they disagree. It wuld be really boring if there were 300 posts saying, 'oh yes me too".

I rarely look at poster names, just topics. Sorry but you are being the me, me, me one here!

SandraTheBee · 06/01/2019 13:58

I've been here for over 11 years and because it's so much bigger than it was it's actually far less cliquey. It used to be awful and then there was some kind of uber clique break away group- things got better after that.

Milfromhades · 06/01/2019 13:59

I don't recognise many people but Lipstick I haven't forgotten what you did in my own bed!

Bluesheep8 · 06/01/2019 14:00

yabbers no, that was me. And it was a mistake.

LipstickHandbagCoffee · 06/01/2019 14:00

Haha, yup both of them. Different times..same bed

Stardustinmyeyes · 06/01/2019 14:02

GobblersKnob

Your post at 13.58 is absolutely spot on.

I lurk and read, I comment but I very rarely go back to the thread, unless I'm @ in it. Sometimes I don't even bother then

JessicaJonesJacket · 06/01/2019 14:03

Frangipane I'd forgotten about seeking out unanswered threads to comment. It's years since I've seen reminders on threads to do that.

I must be pretty unpopular! Been here 11 years - 3rd name change but had this one for many years - and I've never been part of a clique. 🤔

Think I'll live! 😊

onalongsabbatical · 06/01/2019 14:06

SoyDora you're talking shit! GrinGrinGrin

LadyRochfordsHoickedGusset · 06/01/2019 14:06

I am guilty of the" wave" if I recognise a poster from another thread. And I don't even like quiche.

Seriously though;

Have had the lovely experience of having an unanswered thread, even after a shameless bump.

Have been badly flamed on Aibu, my arse is still singed.

Lots of posts went ignored.

'It's just the internet OP.

Sparklingbrook · 06/01/2019 14:08

I hardly recognise a soul any more.

Where are all the cliques? Anything interesting to join?

daffodillament · 06/01/2019 14:09

Its a BIG pond op ! Grin

dullclothesbrightmind · 06/01/2019 14:11

course not. but if its a clique then they will only answer regulars or if they are only interested in their own post.

No, I name change all the time so on the few occasions when my post is commented on it's not cos anyone recognises me. I don't reply to posts based on whether I recognise poster or not either.

Mousewithascarf · 06/01/2019 14:13

I’ve been on here for about 11 years and the site has changed as it’s grown. When I first joined there was definitely an MN royalty who seemed (to me) rather cliquey. Now though with name changes and people leaving and new ones joining that has gone. When I’ve tried to join a long running thread like low carb, perfume etc I’ve been welcomed and my posts answered. I’m just no very good at regularly posting on them so don’t become one of the ‘well known contributors ‘ but that’s me not them. I’m not sure what you mean about ‘me me me’ but I do think it’s natural that posters start threads about things that affect them. The one thIng that has stopped me posting anything personal though is fear of it ending up in the Daily Mail or somewhere and the people involved realising they’re mentioned. So I only post quite mundane stuff rather than what I’d really like others advice/opinions on.

onlylonely · 06/01/2019 14:14

i’ve been on here years and i have noticed some posters get a “what so and so said” after they’ve posted. I always think “they must be the popular ones”, lol. No one ever says it about my posts. Sad

Milfromhades · 06/01/2019 14:16

Haha, yup both of them. Different times..same bed
I'm glad to see you are still a proud hussy.

Racecardriver · 06/01/2019 14:16

Maybe I’m doing mn wrong because I don’t remember anyone’s name expect RusselBertrand and TomHardysFurtureWife for obvious reasons.
