To murder DH and my in laws in pregnancy induced rage?

I've got hyperemesis gravidium. I've had it for 7 weeks and I'm in hell. Been signed off work, I vomit from when I wake up until I go to sleep. I've been in and out of hospital. I'm on medication now but I'm still sick constantly and I'm so tired and I just have no energy.

DHs extended family all came over for 5 nights over Christmas, it was pre-arranged, Christmas and I battled through. I didn't stay in bed and mope I showered and put makeup on and tried to be a good host despite how awful I felt. Played with the kids, cooked for the adults etc. They left 2 days ago and I was so exhausted from the time they were here I slept for 14 hours, woke up just to eat (and spew) and then passed out again. Today I am still completely exhausted, the house is a shit hole, I've thrown up five times and I just feel like crap so I said to DH I'm not going to make it to your mums later feeling like this, but go without me obviously and have fun.

The fucker turns around and says "they're coming here remember?" I thought he was joking but nope, got 5 adults and 5 children all coming back at 3 for the next 2 nights. He has not told me this. I know exactly why he hasn't told me this as I'd say no and now I don't know what to do. He's said can't I just do what I did the other day and power through and get the house sorted. I'm just lying in bed crying now I feel so peopled out I just can't do it. I just want to sleep. I just can't think of another option other than murder.

Is DH even back from his mother's yet? If not then he needs told to get his arse back home pronto to take you to hospital.

If he isn't, and isn't contactable, then call yourself an ambulance. It sounds worrying. Doesn't very dark urine mean severe dehydration?

MrsHughGrant · 01/01/2019 21:15

In hospital now. Urine was the darkest colour on the dipstick test thing, severe dehydration so back on a bloody drip. 6th hospital stay now!! DH got home midday was very apologetic, I'm being moody still to be honest because I am petty and hormonal but can tell he feels horrific I'm in hospital. I'm enjoying it a lot. Only thing making this miserable day better. I hate being pregnant!!!! And dh

BlueSuffragette · 01/01/2019 21:19

Good to hear that you are getting cared for in the hospital. HG is really horrific. My very best wishes for the rest of your pregnancy. Flowers

ChristmassyContessaConSparkles · 01/01/2019 21:19

Glad that you're in hospital now op. Continue to enjoy his dawning realisation that he took the right piss over Christmas, if it distracts you; no-one would blame you for that I'm sure! Fingers crossed for hay-coloured wee in the near future :)

Groovee · 01/01/2019 21:20

Hope you are home again soon x

RomanyRoots · 01/01/2019 21:21

I'm so glad you are in the right place OP.
When better you need to speak to your dh about equality and he should be hosting his parents, whether you are pregnant or not.
Why would he let you do it rather than do it himself?

AWishForWingsThatWork · 01/01/2019 21:23

YOu should be getting profuse apologies and meals sent round to yours for weeks to come from his remorseful extended family...

They behaved like arseholes, the lot of them, and they should know that.

I hope you start to feeling better on the drip, OP. It sounds awful. I'm so sorry you're going through this.

Yesitwasmethistime · 01/01/2019 21:28

Glad you are getting the treatment you need. When will people realise HG is not just morning sickness 😬 (was also on a drip for part of my pregnancy due to HG so sympathise massively)

Awful as it sounds I am also glad that this timing has occurred and that your DH is feeling awful. He deserves to.

Hope you are feeling better soon OP.

QueenDoria · 01/01/2019 21:33

Take it easy.
(Don’t want to derail thread but I think I can diagnose a much needed hospital stay through internet threads...)
Preen.
As you were (take care...)

Hortonlovesahoo · 01/01/2019 21:34

I'm so glad you're being taken care of and I'm also glad that it's giving you a break. Tbh, your DH could use some grovelling time. Hope you feel better soon x

WhoGivesADamnForAFlakeyBandit · 01/01/2019 21:35

I do hope your in laws put together the timing of your latest hospital visit and the absence of your DH for 24 hours.

He shouldn't have been anywhere other than looking after you.

AllyPallyMally · 01/01/2019 21:36

I have been following this thread with great concern since it began and am so relieved to hear that you are safe in hospital. I really hope you will not be there too long. Make sure that dipstick of a husband realises what a mega pratt he has been. Also please tell your lovely SIL how much we admire her. Does she know you are in hospital? Take care of yourself.

mcmooberry · 01/01/2019 21:37

OMG how did I miss this thread yesterday you poor thing!! Hope you get some relief from the fluids etc. I had moderate/severe morning sickness when pregnant with twins and couldn't face seeing anyone apart from my DH and my older child so this scenario had me breaking into a cold sweat just imagining it!! No idea how you battled through Christmas!! Well done but enough, you need to take care of yourself now xxx

PlumpkinStew · 01/01/2019 21:39

Just seen this thread and got to say OP that as a fellow HG sufferer who also had multiple hospital stays and loathed being pregnant, your growing a whole human and your doing amazingly well! 💐
Your dh was thoughtless but he does seem caring, just not engaging brain, my dh was great but slightly thoughtless at times - he just didn't really get it. 🤷🏼‍♀️

MilesHuntsWig · 01/01/2019 21:59

Hope you feel better soon Nd that your "D"H realises what a selfish twat he is.

macaroniandpizza · 01/01/2019 21:59

Hope you feel better soon Flowers

Motoko · 01/01/2019 22:08

Tell him you don't want to go back to a shit tip. While you're in hospital, he can clean the house up.

I'm glad you're getting the care you need in hospital. For heaven's sake, learn from this, and don't play the martyr in future. He should have taken over the hosting at Christmas, if you didn't want to cancel it. And you should have told him yesterday to come home and look after you. How he could spend all day and night away, and then still not get home until lunchtime today, knowing how ill you were, I don't know.

bookwormsforever · 01/01/2019 22:12

Email them all. Say ‘I know you”lol understand, but I feel absolutely dreadful. I’ve been sick ten times today and am just not up to hosting. Dh will be looking after you all while I rest. See you soon’

Or, better still, get them to meet elsewhere.

Your h is an inconsiderate twit. You’ve hosted his family twice over Xmas, with HG?

Fuck that.

Rest up, op. I hope you feel better soon.

Gazelda · 01/01/2019 22:16

Erm, bookworms, I think you might need to refresh the thread, you've missed a bit.

Arkengarthdale · 01/01/2019 22:16

Um, Op is now in hospital, thread's moved on a bit!

Best wishes Op Thanks

bookwormsforever · 01/01/2019 22:25

Oh lord, sorry, OP, I should really have read to the end! Blush

Op, I hope you can rest in hospital and feel better soon. Sending Flowers

Weenurse · 01/01/2019 22:45

I hope you feel better soon 💐

ThumbWitchesAbroad · 01/01/2019 22:50

Well blimey, if that doesn't reinforce to both your twat H and his feckless family (bar lovely SIL) that your condition is, y'know, serious then nothing will.

I'm sort of sorry you're in hospital again but since you're getting much needed rest and hydration, I'm not really. Rest and rest and keep telling DH that this is NOT "normal" pregnancy and he can stop going on about it like "pregnancy isn't an illness" because you know what, HG fucking IS and I bet he got that from his mother anyway

Happy(ish) New Year Thanks

EKGEMS · 01/01/2019 22:53

I'm a registered nurse and if my OB HG patient came into hospital severely dehydrated as you are I sure as hell would be getting a detailed history from both her and her spouse demanding to know why on earth you had been doing anything as strenuous as hosting family for five fucking days over the damn holiday! Seriously you could have severe, life altering consequences of dehydration for both you and your baby. This should never ha e gotten this far. Ever

ILsGoHomePlease · 01/01/2019 22:57

OP please show this thread to your DH for the last comment alone from the registered nurse if nothing else,

Feel better soon - as much r&r as possible!!!

(No HP but terrible sickness throughout my two pregnancies so as much empathy as is possible & all of my sympathies)
