Up until very recently (last night), I had a group of 4 very close friends.

I recently had an upset of a childhood (sexual) trauma that I've told no one about. One of my friends was here when this happened and I opened up to her, she was supportive and i felt great, lighter.

Last night we all meet for drinks and exchange gifts. We all exchange various supermarket vouchers and have done since our "babies" were babies.

She makes a comment about a paedofile arrest made near her and then says "surprised you don't know him Linda, you were paedofile fodder"
Other people laugh and start questioning me about what happened.

She has told them everything.

I being questioned in a bar. A crowded bar.

I have grabbed my things and left.

Took their things out of my car and left them on the kerb.
I have blocked them. Everywhere.

I have been to supermarkets and spent all the vouchers, put it all in the food bank.

Fuck them.

that’s good, and you can decide yourself long term where this goes, and I know what you mean, I love Christmas but its nice to have routine and my house back to normal

I wanted to thank each of you personally for your wise and kind comments on this thread. I found a lot of support and warmth in the thread and in your words especially. Thetemay have been silent observers who feel the same (I was one for many years). I am glad the thread came back. Happy New Year!

When what happened to me happened, especially on top of everything else in my life which read like a script from Eastenders on steroids, it was hard for people to take me seriously. I've never worked through it either.

If the goal of MN is to support posters - I did find the thread supportive.

But I found MN's handling of it to be silencing and dismissive. The messaging was patronising and tone deaf.

The thread was treated as no more worthy of care or sensitivity than “Why does Prince Harry’s foot like a banana??” MN silenced women who were discussing things that mattered to them.

And a company which made GBP 2.8 mln operating profit last year can afford moderators at night. FFS.

If anyone is associated with MN this should be disclosed.

Wise words. I must say the support and empathy on this thread has far out weighed the negative few.

I sometimes wonder if it is just the "same old" doing the reporting.

However, I'm pleased it got reinstated and I'm really happy that others have found support.

Why do you feel messed around by me?

When I started this thread my head was still kind of spinning.

I'd had the bar, dumping stuff, driving home, sleepless night and supermarket with food bank happen within 12 hours.

I'm female. I am usually a quite cold, unemotional person. This is probably due to my life experiences.

I don't share in real life.

I often find that it's is logged and thrown back at you.
