@arfurssixpences
That’s good, I always tell him the best people have thier birthday on the 5th January. My grandad and cousin aswell as 3 friends have the same birthday.
He’s gonna be 11 but loves the lights still

"He’s gonna be 11 but loves the lights still"

Our DS is going to be 12. And ditto :-)

AcrossthePond55 · 04/01/2019 22:53

All packed away in boxes! Now to get fight with DS2 to carry them all upstairs!

tinytemper66 · 05/01/2019 18:51

My last night with my lovely tree 🌲 Going to clean right through tomorrow when my son goes back and before I return to work 😞
Haven't had the best Christmas but the tree was kind of comforting x

flameycakes · 05/01/2019 18:52

New year's eve for me, don't like taking the old into the new, left some faery lights up around the mirror though x

MirandaWest · 05/01/2019 20:21

It’s our tree’s last night too Sad

KingscoteStaff · 05/01/2019 20:41

Our tree comes down tonight after dinner.
Heading over to my mum’s tomorrow to take down her decorations and stop her climbing ladders.

SophieSellerman · 05/01/2019 20:42

About 4 days ago, thank God. I hate Christmas.

DENMAN03 · 05/01/2019 21:07

I've taken mine down today.. it went up on the 1st December and was still drinking a pint of water a day so has stayed very fresh and green. House looks bigger but not as cosy.

POllOcKs · 05/01/2019 21:20

Decorations down tomorrow before I go to bed.I have finished the Bailey's and eaten the toblerone. The only remnants is Christmas cake but that normally takes a while to eat.Somethings shouldnt be rushed.

KittyClaus · 05/01/2019 21:21

Just took everything down. Feeling sad now. Had a good clean though and the room does look bigger.

hazeyjane · 05/01/2019 21:25

I'm waiting until Weds...its my day off, so then I can do it quickly while the kids are at school and ds won't freak out all over the place...and we can enjoy them for a few more days.

aibutohavethisusername · 05/01/2019 21:48

We are taking ours down tomorrow.

DramaAlpaca · 05/01/2019 22:33

I know it's 12th night tomorrow & I said I'd do it then, but I've just finished taking them all down today. Will do a big clean up in the morning after DH & DS have put them in the attic, then we're back to normal again.

WrapAndRoll · 05/01/2019 22:35

Today. 1st day of Christmas was Christmas Day. 12th day of Christmas is today, so down they come before 12th night.

MinesaPinot · 05/01/2019 22:44

We've been out all day so it's Scruffy Sunday and taking the decorations down tomorrow for us. We'll have a couple of days of "doesn't it all look bare" before we appreciate getting the space back.

Then I'll decide that everywhere looks grubby and we need to redecorate.

BobDobbs · 05/01/2019 22:55

So is today the 12th night or tomorrow? Always thought it was the 5th, but a lot of posters are saying the 6th.

BlackBeltInPresentWrapping · 05/01/2019 23:39

Tomorrow for us, at the earliest Xmas Smile🎄

tinytemper66 · 06/01/2019 12:17

Just spent the morning putting them away and cleaning through downstairs. Just need to put back photos etc and I am done ✅ Whilst it looks nice and clean it is a bit bare so I have lit 🔥 some candles 🕯

AcrossthePond55 · 06/01/2019 14:53

Who else was feeling smug that they'd put everything away only to now be finding bits and bobs you overlooked?

(Hoping it's not just me!)

speakout · 06/01/2019 15:00

AcrossthePond55

I never feel smug about that.

And I always leave the ladders at the top of the stairs for a couple of days after putting the christmas boxes in he loft.

Because there is a 100% chance that something has been overlooked.

SerenDippitty · 06/01/2019 15:04

Yesterday. It was such a horrible grey cold day yesterday that taking them down made me feel quite miserable.

BlackBeltInPresentWrapping · 06/01/2019 16:54

Feeling smug that ours are still up. Xmas Wink

(Not so smug that the task is still ahead and I've just found a pine needle in my cuppa!)

speakout · 06/01/2019 16:55

BlackBeltInPresentWrapping

Why smug?

recently · 06/01/2019 16:55

Just done it and hoovered up the (fake) needles. For a fake tree, it certainly sheds a lot!
