Ours goes up on the 1st and is normally down by now as DH is back to work, but he’s off until the 2nd 😍 Will probably take it down on NYD.

00100001 · 29/12/2018 12:20

Ours never went up!

Parker231 · 29/12/2018 12:26

Two Christmas trees now ready for recycling and all the decorations stored away. Mil has been a star packing up the glass tree decorations which are very special to me as my grandparents kept them safe when their home was raided by the Nazis. Now to get the house ready for New Years Eve. I love the time when Christmas is over and we can look forward to a new year.

allisonpeters · 29/12/2018 12:34

Our neighbours have already taken theirs down, we’ve taken ours down yesterday

redtulip19 · 29/12/2018 13:05

Did mine Thursday

Charlottejade89 · 29/12/2018 13:13

Tomorrow for us. Usually do it on 2nd Jan but we're visiting my mum for new year so I want it all done before we go, one less thing to do when we come back

OneStepMoreFun · 29/12/2018 13:14

NYD for me. They stay up to see the new year in. DH insists on 12th Night but I hate having Christmas tat limp into the new year. So I've decided his choice one year, mine the next. That's fair. Last year was 12th Night so this year is NYD.

allthegoodusernameshavegone · 29/12/2018 13:16

Down now, Two weeks is long enough.

SoyDora · 29/12/2018 13:41

Why do so many people put ‘tat’ up?! Maybe you would keep it up longer if it wasn’t ‘tat’ Grin

PlatypusPie · 29/12/2018 14:00

Taking them down tomorrow as away for NYE and would hate to come back to them still all up - was lovely for the week before but now irritated at normal household things being in the wrong place. Usually let poinsettias stay but bought somewhere different thisyear and 2 out of 4 have died 😠

dulcefarniente · 29/12/2018 14:05

5th Jan. Decs didn't go up until 15th Dec though.

BishopBrennansArse · 29/12/2018 14:13

Twelfth Night.
Because I don't put them up before Remembrance Sunday I don't get bored on Boxing Day.

Bumblebee39 · 29/12/2018 14:13

NYE or NY day
Don't want to go into the NY with last years decs still up if I can help it but might not get any time

EdWinchester · 29/12/2018 14:17

NY day here, although I am slightly itching to get them down today.

My festive mantle piece swag has gone crispy, but the trees still look fresh.

Suomynona · 29/12/2018 14:40

Yesterday (Friday). The relief of having an uncluttered living room again is amazing. Just went for a walk and started pitying anyone who still has it all up. Even the town centre decs look sad and redundant now it's all over.

loubluee · 29/12/2018 15:13

Twelfth night

stargirl1701 · 29/12/2018 15:20

I can't imagine celebrating Hogmanay with no tree. Ours went up on the last Sunday in Advent and will come down onTwelfth Night. Crib scene will stay out until Candlemas in February.

Allyg1185 · 29/12/2018 15:25

I took mine down yesterday

BlackBeltInPresentWrapping · 29/12/2018 15:28

Not before Twelfth Night, and most years not until February. The tree and decorations don't go up until Christmas Eve here, so the tree is still very fresh-looking and pine-smelling, and is being enjoyed. I just can't imagine it all not being here for New Years.

TrashPanda · 29/12/2018 15:38

I've taken my tree down today. It's a really crap fake one with fibre optic colours and fake berries. I hate it! Plus the baby kept trying to pull it over so I couldn't even put the nice decorations on because I couldn't risk them getting smashed and baby being hurt. I've still got twinkly lights in the window.

Next year I will have a proper real tree with loads of fairy lights and all my decorations on. It will go up the weekend before and come down on 12th night.

redcarbluecar · 29/12/2018 15:48

Mine have been up since 1 Dec; will probably come down on NYD. The long December run up to Xmas feels somehow more festive than the first week of January.

bridgetreilly · 29/12/2018 15:58

Well, I've just put mine up. :)

AMomHasNoName · 29/12/2018 15:58

I did mine yesterday . It's DDs birthday 31st of December so I like them to be gone before then. Plus I put the tree and decorations up on the 1st of December. So I'm bored of looking at them by Christmas day Grin

HollyandIvyarelivingitupagain · 29/12/2018 16:12

What on earth do you get the house ready for new year?

Parker231 · 29/12/2018 16:25

Lots to do here in getting the house ready. New Years Eve is our big party so need to get the house tidy and cleaned throughout. Usually end up moving some furniture around to make more space. DH and I both have the day off work on Monday to get the buffet and bar set up.
