The first thing I do boxing day morning is take down the decorations so I can start the battle of where the children's gifts are going to live I've left a bit tinsel (tacky I know, but I love it 😂) on top of one of the picture frames by accident so that will stay there till next year but apart from that Christmas is packed away for another year.

FannyMorgan · 27/12/2018 22:39

Ours comes down on Boxing Day every year! Once Christmas is done and there's toys everywhere, I like to 'try' to get my house back together and let's face it - the tree is always the fucking biggest thing! 🤣

KingscoteStaff · 27/12/2018 22:39

Up 22nd, down Twelfth Night.

travailtotravel · 27/12/2018 22:40

New Years day ghis year. We're away the weekend otherwise I'd have done it on Saturday

Figmentofimagination · 27/12/2018 22:43

I love Christmas (decorations been up since the 1st), but once I get to this point I start wanting to take it all down, to give myself some more space, and this year to be able to tidy DS's toys away. So it's usually NYE/ NYD depending on work. This year I'm putting everything away this weekend so I can enjoy a clear house before we both go back to work.

Tree came down today and im glad i can get some normality back. Ive started gutting out my living room as i want to decorate in the new year

Sostenueto · 27/12/2018 22:43

I took what little decorations and tree down today. No matter how nice I do them they seem to clutter up the place and I get sick of looking at them. Some people have had their Xmas decorations up since November. Ridiculous! Years ago we didn't put them up till Xmas eve night so when the DC came down in the morning they were in awe and wonder as it was the first time they saw them and it added much more magic to Xmas day. Its too commercial and too early nowadays. Takes all the magic out of it.

BarbedBloom · 27/12/2018 22:46

I have taken mine down today as we have kittens and I cannot cope with another day of them trying to sit on the top of the tree Grin

NonaGrey · 27/12/2018 22:46

I really do t understand why people rush to out decorations up in early December and then whip them down on Boxing Day.

Why not put them up nearer Christmas and enjoy them for the whole holiday period?

Ours will come down on 12th night.

SmiledWithTheRisingSun · 27/12/2018 22:47

6th Jan 🤷🏻‍♀️🎄

trancepants · 27/12/2018 22:51

Some will come down on Twelfthnight, the rest on the 6th. Hopefully it will all be down by the time we get up for school on the 7th, if not I'll finish off when DS is at school.

Doubletrouble99 · 27/12/2018 22:54

12th night and not a day before.

whiteworld · 27/12/2018 22:56

On 12th night! Maybe if people didn’t put trees up so fringing early, they’d be happy to keep them up till 12th night?!

WhatOnEarthDoIDoNow · 27/12/2018 23:01

Tomorrow if I get my way, however my mum is essentially Buddy the Elf which means they won't come down till the 6th Grin

MirandaWest · 27/12/2018 23:05

Ours went up first weekend in December and will come down on 6th January. We have family coming up here tomorrow for a few days to celebrate Christmas - definitely won’t take them down yet Smile

GreenMeerkat · 27/12/2018 23:09

After New Year for me. Probably 2nd if I get time. I love Christmas, and love the build up but always feel a little sad after the day is over so I would happily take them down today but DH won't let me Hmm

Snowydaysaregreat · 27/12/2018 23:09

Mine today.. Because the baby was shoving her walker into the tree ansv when I pulled it out, it got stuck and the tree toppled over. Crap everywhere. Easier to pack away than re sort it..

DonkeyPunch88 · 27/12/2018 23:17

Tool mine down Boxing Day morning

DonkeyPunch88 · 27/12/2018 23:17

Took sorry.

Smurf123 · 27/12/2018 23:21

Today... Normally wait until January but this year we have a 9 month old who has just learnt to crawl.... We got fed up having to move him away from the tree and all the baubles were moving higher and higher up the tree anyway 😂

Summerisdone · 27/12/2018 23:22

Nope tomorrow is not too soon imo, but then I'd have had mine down today if hadn't been working a 12 hour shift Grin, as it stands I'm also on a 12 hr shift tomorrow so I'll have to wait until Saturday when I don't start work until 3pm, so can get them down and everywhere tidy before work Smile

PositiveVibez · 27/12/2018 23:25

Ours is going down tomorrow and I cannot wait 😂

tor8181 · 27/12/2018 23:27

9th or 10 th of jan usually

currentcake · 27/12/2018 23:57

Did mine today. Christmas has been and gone, no need for them any longer and sick of the sight of them

Maddy70 · 27/12/2018 23:58
