Yes

Parker231 · 28/12/2018 21:52

Ours go up the weekend before Christmas and now Christmas is over, everything will be away tomorrow to make space for our New Years Party. We went back to work yesterday so it will be good to have them cleared away.

Birdshitbridgegotme · 28/12/2018 22:03

Mine came down day after boxing so 27th. Can't be dealing with all the tatt once Xmas day is done

speakout · 28/12/2018 22:07

Probably Monday or Tuesday.
I would have them down already but still to host ILs on Sunday.

No tat though, do have 2 eight foot high real trees to take for recycling.

12th night for us, as is traditional. I don't hold with this putting them up in November and then ripping it all down on Boxing Day lark. I'm still sitting here thinking how pretty the lights look, besides my son is autistic and absolutely loves them.

Canuckduck · 29/12/2018 00:55

I took mine down today. Kept outside lights and a few things up but the tree was shedding loads and smelled off. I didn’t put mine up until the 15th but I couldn’t manage the smell. Also we’re having NYE party and I wanted the space.

nocoolnamesleft · 29/12/2018 01:18

Definitely Twelfth Night. Though I probably put them up later than most (23rd).

redfruitgum · 29/12/2018 01:22

Over the weekend. I haven't had the motivation to do it before now but definitely before the new year. It just feels wrong having Xmas decorations up on new years day though.

Lovingbenidorm · 29/12/2018 01:37

Come down 12th night as is right, correct, proper and fucking good manners!
How can you take your tree down before New Year!
The lights etc look so lovely

Parker231 · 29/12/2018 07:58

Obviously everyone does what they want but I can’t imagine having the decorations up at New Year, Christmas has been over for a week and all my focus is on the New Year Eves party and our plans for January.

SoyDora · 29/12/2018 08:03

Christmas Day is the first day of Christmas, not the last!

thegreylady · 29/12/2018 08:10

We always leave some decs up till 12 th night but don’t put them up before mid December. We have guests for NY so won’t do anything before 2/1 anyway.
The crib stays till 6/1 as we move the 3 kings a little closer each day.
The tree and bits and pieces will go away sometime during the week after NY.

Parker231 · 29/12/2018 08:10

Soy - other way for us - Christmas Day and Boxing Day are the end of Christmas as we’ve had the parties, family visits etc and are then back to work looking forward to the next year.

SuperstarDJ · 29/12/2018 08:12

Today! Love the run up to Christmas but once Boxing Day has been and gone Christmas is over imo. Itching to have the house back to normal now.

SleepingBooty · 29/12/2018 08:13

Ours came down the day after boxing day as we are decorating the living room. Usually they come down on NYE so I'm able to clean. I like starting NY with a clean and tidy home.

Debfronut · 29/12/2018 11:15

Mine come down on 31st. I don't want to do it when we have visitors on NYD and back to work on the second so no time after that.

SackOfSprouts · 29/12/2018 11:16

New Year’s Day as soon as I’m up. I like having them up for NYE. After that, gone!

Girlicorne · 29/12/2018 11:20

5th or 6th before we go back to work and school it makes me very sad they ve been up since 26th November :-)

whatswithtodaytoday · 29/12/2018 11:21

People put trees up way too early. Of course a tree isn't going to last from 1st December to 26th and still look fresh. That's why you put them up a week or so before Christmas and take them down on Twelfth Night.

RangeRider · 29/12/2018 11:28

They've just gone back in the loft Grin

ChardonnaysPrettySister · 29/12/2018 11:31

12th night, I put it up around the end of the second week of December.

I think people put them down early because the shops put Christmas away early as well.

tillytrotter1 · 29/12/2018 11:59

Next Wednesday, 2nd, the grandchildren are here for the day so they can work for their living!

CheeseAndBeans · 29/12/2018 12:04

Did ours this morning. They go up on about the 10th dec after DD1s birthday. I love Christmas, and all the build up. But once it's done I just want normality back! The house looks so tidy and fresh once it's down and I can start sorting out new toys etc and make room for them.

Oakenbeach · 29/12/2018 12:08

I literally tear down mine at 2pm on Christmas Day and all mention of Christmas is banned until the start of the next Christmas season in early November.

WrapAndRoll · 29/12/2018 12:16

When the 12 days of Christmas finish. i.e.12th Night.
