Since I can’t find a thread in the Christmas Forum?

I love hearing about other people’s gifts, good, bad and humorous.

I’ve had a crappy Christmas (really poorly and missed every party/family day) but loved my gifts from everyone which was my only positive part of the season!

I will start, my favs are:
Hive with Alexa
A handmade poem in a frame from DD2
A Disney quiz game from DD1
Gorgeous Ted Baker pjs from my Mum

I didn’t get any bad gifts this year, so no funnies there!

Kids got some funny musical things in their stockings which were like spinning tops which played Axel F and lit up (and they spent ages playing with them),

What did Santa bring you? X

I was a very lucky girl. I got a brand new Barbour coat, Free People Boots, skincare from The Ordinary and Glamglow, ASOS earrings, slippers, marmalade gin, lots of chocs, giant tub of jelly bellys, money.

Toying with getting myself a leather jacket, a Cambridge Satchel or Amazon echo with my £££.

I have a rather wonderful dh and ils that always spoil me. I feel very lucky. Xmas Smile

catgirl1976 · 28/12/2018 18:24

Neom reed diffuser (DH)
L'Occitaine Perfume (DH)
Gino cookbook (DS)
Prada handbag (DB and DSIL - they live in China it's a very good copy :) )
£50 (DPs)
Matching penguin pjs for me, DH and DS (DSis) - DH's says Emperor, Mine say Empress and DS's say Little - adore them :)
Neom pillow spray (also DSis)
M&S Voucher (BIL and SIL)
Family Odeon Voucher (DMIL)

Lovely presents all of them. Feel very spoilt.

TheVortex · 28/12/2018 18:26

Wow some of you are extremely fortunate indeed. I hope you enjoy your gifts.

HappyHippy45 · 28/12/2018 18:34

I'm being an ungrateful bitch.

I got loads of shite.

I've got loads of allergies /intolerances (gluten, nuts, dairy, soy, strong perfumes, sensitive skin) so scented candles, chocolates, toiletries and biscuits etc are just a waste of money.

Add to that the "useful" gadgets for the kitchen and fancy scarves and tops that are not me AT ALL. I wear outdoorsy type clothes...these are smart clothes.

Presents were all from family who I thought knew me better.

Maybe this year was a bad year as they normally get me at least some stuff I like.....and no, I don't tell them I don't like the stuff either.

Best presents were some socks and a bottle of my favourite vodka.

Careofcell44 · 28/12/2018 18:35

Half a t.v. I bought DH the other half. Other than that there was nothing either of us needed, if we want something we buy it or save then buy it.
With DH's family we don't buy gifts, there are no under 18s, but we all go out for a nice meal instead.

Oldraver · 28/12/2018 18:48

Blue John antique brooch (going to convert to a necklace) I have been coveting at work for ages.

Rarfy · 28/12/2018 18:51

Michael kors perfume
New balance trainers
Hot diamonds earrings
Yankee electric melt pot and lots of things to melt in it
Phillip kingsley elasticizer
Coat
Pyjamas
Noa perfume
River island vouchers
Socks
Essie nail polish
Then lots of other bits and pieces like chocolate and bath stuff.

KurriKurri · 28/12/2018 19:09

I got
Some chocolates and fudge
A DVD
A necklace and earrings set
2 rings
A birdfeeder
A mug
A candle
A purse

I'm very chuffed with all my presents.

DDOG got a stuffed dragon which makes a crackly noise and squeaks, he loves it and has carried it around with him everywhere since Christmas day. He gets in a bit of a state when he needs to go outside for the toilet and I make him leave his dragon in the house Grin

Thankssomuch · 28/12/2018 19:59

Oh my goodness christmastwattery if your kids bought you the Unforgotten set then that’s the best present listed here so far (including my own) 😀

CeeCeeMacFay · 29/12/2018 09:25

I was very lucky this year as often don't get anything:

New trainers
Illuminating mirror
Perfume
New pyjamas
Necklace and earrings
Cash

ChristmasTwatteryDoesMyHeadIn · 29/12/2018 09:50

Thankssomuch it was DS1 who picked it apparently, he recognised Nicola Walker on the front and told DP “Mum likes her, I’ve seen her face paused” Grin

I’ve had a lovely binge watch the last few days!

Youseethethingis · 29/12/2018 11:18

My uncle got me a baby dragon garden ornament because he thought it looked a bit like my mums dog (expression wise - the dog is not a scaley fire breather Grin)
My OH got me a Swarovski duck and ducklings to represent the ducks at the end of the jetty where we got engaged last month.
Best mate got me Bride and Groom bathtub rubber ducks.
These are my top 3 favourite gifts by far. I like ducks. And dragons. Xmas Smile

smackbangwhollop · 29/12/2018 18:36

A box of chocolates and a bath smellies set. A record for me I usually only get one.

tinysnickersaremyfavourite · 29/12/2018 20:24

A posh diary
A pair of earrings (returned as a bit too unusual and I'd never have worn them and were too expensive to sit in a drawer)
A cocktail recipe book and set (shaker, muddler etc) which unfortunately i also cannot use because we don't have any of the ingredients. I also barely drink.
A scented candle.

NaturalBornWoman · 29/12/2018 20:47

Jewellery box
Earrings
Bracelet
Joy scent (bit of a mistake, DH misunderstood a comment I made about liking the Patou Joy and wondering how Dior got the name)
White company candle, Le Labo candle and another one from an independent shop I've not had before but smells lovely
Cashmere socks
Muji ultrasonic diffuser
LV zippy wallet
Slippers and dressing gown
Books
Calendar

Lovely things, I'm very lucky

ladybee28 · 29/12/2018 21:12

DP utterly surpassed himself - he's blocked out both our calendars and booked us a weekend away every second month next year from January - November. Not huge fancy expensive trips, but all little adventures in themselves and quality time for us.

I had six envelopes, each with a little story inside. MAJOR brownie points. Don't think I've ever felt quite so well-understood or spoiled by a partner.

WheelyCoteClaus · 29/12/2018 21:32

Flowers, chocs from my teens and an electronic thing from my guy

MadisonAvenue · 29/12/2018 21:44

A Dyson hairdryer off my husband.
Lush Karma perfume from oldest son. He's grown up with me smelling of Karma!
Amazon voucher from younger son, I've bought a new leather purse.
Money from my parents which I've spent on a Fitbit Charge 3.
Lush Karma Kream and soap from my sister and brother in law.
Yankee lantern and Christmas votives from a cousin.
Money from my mother in law, I've bought a new leather Yoshi bag.
Wine from a friend ( the only unwanted present as I don't like wine).
Scarf, gloves and earrings from a friend.

tinysnickersaremyfavourite · 29/12/2018 21:58

Oh, I forgot that my favourite present of all was the Christmas card my DS made for us because it's the first one he's ever written the whole inside of the card himself (not just signed his own name). It actually made me well up a bit that my first baby had grown big enough to write a card.

PlainVanilla · 29/12/2018 22:03
