to ask if you had sex on your wedding night?

Getting married in the near future, and I'm already pretty certain there will be no shagging on the wedding night. Sex is quite infrequent anyway (but this suits us), and after a long day I know we will both be too tired.

Until a coversation today, I thought it was normal to not consummate marriage on the actual wedding night. A few friends have said it is extremely odd to not, and is something you have to do on your wedding day for 'tradition'.

I am no virgin, so I don't see the big deal. I would prefer a cuppa and Dairy Milk.

DH had to work abroad for 6 weeks before the wedding and his flight was delayed coming back. He was meant to get in Thursday morning but didn't land until early hours Saturday morning. He had to come home and get his suit and other stuff so we had a quickie then.

Then when we got to the reception after the church we had another quickie in our cottage while everyone had drinks. After the meal and drinks my bridesmaid came to me and said she knew it had been at least 6 weeks so she was going to cover for us while we had some alone time. So we did. Then we partied until about half 3 and went back to our cottage. We weren't planning on it but after sitting up and talking and laughing we ended up doing it again but it was much nicer, more romantic and less rushed.

The morning after was amazing too! We stayed in the cottage until the Monday morning and had another all day party with people who had stayed in their own cottages too. Over that weekend we did the deed ten times Grinwhich DH likes to remind me of. I then remind him of how stressful the 6 weeks before the wedding was, especially the Thursday before finding out that he might be stuck in Asia for the wedding!

We still have a good sex life, at least 2/3 times most weeks but sadly doubt we'd get that much in over a weekend again!

No we didn't. I was 6 months pregnant and being my 5th I was already the size of a house (surprise pregnancy). I was shattered. DH got too drunk and feel asleep not long after we got home anyway (no honeymoon).

A wedding night would put me off sex. Actually thinking of people thinking of me having sex would likely put me off sex for the first 3 months of marriage Grin. Pressure too much.

Yes we did. We agreed not to get too pissed during the day. Afterwards we sat in the Jacuzzi or two hours drinking champagne and talking about the day, cementing our memories. Possibly why 20 years on I can still remember it like it was yesterday.

It was so lovely and I enjoyed our wedding night as much as the day.

Nope! We stupidly has 8 mo DS in our room as I wasn't comfortable with him sleeping in with someone else who would most likely have been drinking. So DS decided he didn't want to sleep at all that night. I was almost in tears by 4am begging him to sleep because I was so tired!

First marriage no and we didn't consummate for about a month after either.

Second marriage we did it straight after getting married and about 3 more times that night. We have sex a lot normally anyway.

Erm we got close. We were exhausted and fell into bed. Managed to get dress off and he got on top. Then the biggest, mahoosive brown spider appeared on the actual bedsheets next to me!!! It was in a big old castle and I've never seen a spider that big, was like a dog. Totally perved on us and put us off the mood. Worst thing was dh then flushed it down the toilet so I dared not use the loo all night Hmm

Between the reception and the evening we went to the hotel room for a rest. We didn't get a great deal of rest!

From what friends have said it is far more traditional to fall asleep exhausted at the end of the night, because you have had quite a busy day.

Nope! Our first was 4months at the time and it was her first night sleeping over at nanny and grandads. I was not about to waste a decent night sleep!!

We didn't! We had a 3m old baby when we got married and we was moving into our new home the month before! We was too tired to even think about having sex lol.

Nope. My fault really...I was absolutely slaughtered! We didn't for days after either as we were knackered from the wedding and then travelling (only to Yorkshire but still find going away tiring!) I think it was about a week after!

By the time my 200 pins were out of my hair my husband had fallen asleep it was like 5am by that time.
