to ask if you had sex on your wedding night?

Getting married in the near future, and I'm already pretty certain there will be no shagging on the wedding night. Sex is quite infrequent anyway (but this suits us), and after a long day I know we will both be too tired.

Until a coversation today, I thought it was normal to not consummate marriage on the actual wedding night. A few friends have said it is extremely odd to not, and is something you have to do on your wedding day for 'tradition'.

I am no virgin, so I don't see the big deal. I would prefer a cuppa and Dairy Milk.

Bedtime is for sleeping! We did at any rate, but only for tradition.

1st marriage. No. He was drunk and was watching sport. I was very hurt.

2nd marriage. Yes. He practically tore my dress off me. I was quite pleased with the effort!

Nope, we just chilled out and chatted and then went to sleep.

Yes. Are venue closed at 1am so we had a little energy. Plus our dd was spending the night at grandma's so we wanted to make the most of it. I think we did it 3 times before I picked her up after lunch the next day haha

We got married in Vegas at 7pm. We did it during the day!

No, too tired. Worn out by a long, long day.

We didn't. We spent the night trying to air the damp mattress and bedclothes. We were the first of that year's visitors at a holiday cottage let.. they were too mean to heat the place to keep away the damp whilst it was empty and everything was wringing wet. We had booked for a week but after the first night we booked into a B&B for the rest of our stay.

We did. But we were both virgins so we had left the reception purposefully early to make sure we weren't too tired and to leave time for lots of practice!

Yes, three times , that has never happened since (ie: three times in one night) & 30 years later my DH still talks about it .

We snuck off between the dinner and the dancing - we knew we'd be too tired after all the dancing so we thought ahead

We didn't bother with the separate rooms the night before malarky. Spent it drinking far too much and shagging until 5am. Got married on three hours sleep and a hangover - although we look surprisingly fresh in the photos

Nope. We got married abroad and were still mightily jet lagged and not in a sexy mood! 2 days later for us.

Yes but if was half arsed as we were both exhausted. I also had these huge sucking in nude knickers on but it seemed to weirdly get him in the mood!

No we were too tired!

No way, we were up til about 3 or 4 dancing and enjoying having all our friends together. Also got so drunk I can’t actually remember going to bed !

We waited til we’d cleared up the venue with our friends and family the next day, got to the swanky hotel we started our honeymoon in, had a pot of tea and a long bath and a quick nap. I wouldn’t change anything.

Another half hearted, knackered attempt here. I’d been awake 22 hours by that time!!

No. We had our four year old and two year old in the honeymoon suite with us. One Grandma had a heavy cold.and the other was rat arsed. It was fine though..nice to wake up together in gorgeous room.and we had a couple of child free nights away on hpneymoon after where the deed was done.

No - we didn’t go to bed until 4 and were far too pissed. Awesome day though 😀

We did. It was great. Then we ate cheese, bread and wedding cake. Then banged about twice a day for our two week honeymoon.

I sound smug. I felt smug. Now I have a toddler and I'm pregnant. Smug no more.

We did the next morning. We were too tired and had agreed beforehand that that was likely to happen.
