to ask if you had sex on your wedding night?

Getting married in the near future, and I'm already pretty certain there will be no shagging on the wedding night. Sex is quite infrequent anyway (but this suits us), and after a long day I know we will both be too tired.

Until a coversation today, I thought it was normal to not consummate marriage on the actual wedding night. A few friends have said it is extremely odd to not, and is something you have to do on your wedding day for 'tradition'.

I am no virgin, so I don't see the big deal. I would prefer a cuppa and Dairy Milk.

We did, we hadn't drank a lot as we had both had a vomiting bug a few days before and we were still feeling delicate, and it was only about 1-2am. Wouldn't have minded if we didn't though as I hear lots of people don't.

We did, but then we did the whole thing of not living together before marriage etc. - we had sex in a hastily assembled bed surrounded by boxes Grin

Nope, I'd been up for 18h by then and was also 19w pg at the time, so it was as much as I could do to get out of my wedding dress and fall into bed to sleep!
Didn't do it the next morning either - DH was too hungover and (as mentioned) I was pg, so couldn't deal with his hangover breath!

Nope. He passed out pissed diagonal across the bed. I had to get a night receptionist in the hotel to undo my dress as I couldn't manage alone.

Needless to say that was a sign of things to come!

Nope. My husband had the flu on o our wedding day and actually slept in the spare room! Lol He then gave it to me. Think it was three days after we actually consummated the relationship.

We had an initially enthusiastic attempt in the outdoor jacuzzi. Seemed like a good idea but we soon realised we were both knackered and gave up and went to bed 😂

99.9% of people aren’t marrying as virgins so I don’t see that it’s quite as exciting a prospect as it traditionally was. Honeymoon is a much more relaxing time for newly wed sex when all the hectic ness of the wedding day has melted away.

Don't remember. It was a long time ago. Pretty sure we went to bed very late and did it in the morning.

After 10 years together and 3 kids we were just thrilled to have a hotel room and no kids for the night. We were far too tired to do the deed. In fact, it was weeks later when we "consummated" the marriage.

We had a reception that started early and so ended early. So we’re back to the hotel by about 9pm.

This is as specifically planned by my DH so that our marriage would be consummated before midnight of our actual messing day.

Reading back that makes him sound like a really weirdo. Grin

We got straight on a long haul flight to our honeymoon after our wedding, so no (didn’t fancy the mile high club Grin).

I don't think so! (If we did, it clearly wasn't memorable!) I was drunk, developing flu, and knackered!! :) It was a lovely (very expensive - waste of money!!) suite though!!!
