to ask if you had sex on your wedding night?

Getting married in the near future, and I'm already pretty certain there will be no shagging on the wedding night. Sex is quite infrequent anyway (but this suits us), and after a long day I know we will both be too tired.

Until a coversation today, I thought it was normal to not consummate marriage on the actual wedding night. A few friends have said it is extremely odd to not, and is something you have to do on your wedding day for 'tradition'.

I am no virgin, so I don't see the big deal. I would prefer a cuppa and Dairy Milk.

We snuck up to our room between the afternoon do and the night do because we knew we'd be too tired/pissed later. Grin

part of why we planned the reception that we did was being back at the hotel by 9 was ideal. If we had partied later, the honeymoon probably would not have started that night.

We had a very drunken, knackered shag on the night, which was followed by a very fabulous "Good morning, wife, good morning husband" wonderful wake up moment, horribly interrupted by my mother in law who was too excited to greet her newly married son. Wouldn't leave, so he got dressed and went to breakfast with his parents, while I wept tears if frustration. Little did I know this would set the tone for the marriage....

3 days later for us! We failed halfway through the day because people kept coming to the room and knocking and then we had a chaotic day the following day and straight onto honeymoon. I slept for most of it. Most exhausting thing I’ve done getting married!

No we did it the next night whilst on honeymoon. Was too tired on the actually night, by the time we went to bed, I had been up 24 hours and had only had 2 hours sleep.

Our guests didn’t leave until 2am so we went back to our room shattered. In the he end we started to chat & ended up having sex.

We were another couple who DTD between reception and party.
At 9pm.
DH helped me out of my dress, took photos of me in my basque and garter, opened champagne , had a quickie then back down for the party in evening dress.
When I got downstairs my DM ruined my moment by telling me I looked like someone out of Belsen!!!!
