When it's obvious that what he actually said was "stupid woman".

Enjoying all the people clutching their pearls at nasty Mr Corbyn while freely insulting other posters who dare to disagree with them. Love how you hold your own ideological enemies in such contempt whilst decrying others for the same.

And ... several of you spout the same tired opinions on every single Corbyn thread that appears on here. If you don't want to change the record at least add some new tracks because this groove is as tedious as fuck.

Jaffacakebeast · 19/12/2018 20:43

Him denying it is worse than him saying it 🙈 he constantly shoots his self in the foot. Honestly I really want to like him, but just can’t

JustDanceAddict · 19/12/2018 20:46

Looks like he says woman to me too, sorry.
I agree he should’ve been honest.
I can’t bear Corbyn and I’m no Tory.

Be fair: most threads on MN are basically retreads of the same dichotomous views, regardless of whether it's Corbyn or shoes on/off indoors.

OhDearGodLookAtThisMess · 19/12/2018 20:47

Corbyn would do well to remember that when he's being sneeringly patronising to interviewers from mainstream media outlets for asking relevant questions, he is being directly channelled into people's homes as sneering AT US. That's one of the (many, but more trivial) reasons I dislike him.

PebbleDashed · 19/12/2018 20:48

There are lots of things I can get worked up about but this isn't one of them. Whether he said woman or people I'd have thought that the descriptor 'stupid' would have been more of an insult: and I think that they're all stupid in the HoC and act like monkeys at QT.

BlueJay1 · 19/12/2018 20:49

He clearly said people though ???

Augusta2012 · 19/12/2018 20:50

Just watched it. It looked like stupid people the first time I watched it, the next woman. No way you can tell. Bercow should have censured regardless of who it was aimed at. But just a mild ticking off.

PigletWasPoohsFriend · 19/12/2018 20:51

The same tired defence some spout on every single Corbyn thread is getting as tedious as fuck. Maybe they ought to change the record as we have heard every excuse before.

VioletCharlotte · 19/12/2018 20:53

I watched it and it looked like 'stupid people' to me. But wtf was TM doing ranting like that? Her behaviour was appalling!

HauntedPencil · 19/12/2018 20:54

Don't you think Corbyn should behave better in parliament than randoms on an Internet forum?

Bizarre point.

BishopBrennansArse · 19/12/2018 20:54

@VioletCharlotte she's always like that towards Corbyn. That's her tactic, avoid answering the question and resort to jibes.

HauntedPencil · 19/12/2018 20:55

Agree about TM. Two really poor leaders in such a crucial time. It's so depressing.

RomanyRoots · 19/12/2018 20:57

YABU there's no such thing as an honest politician, they're all liars.

SillySallySingsSongs · 19/12/2018 20:57

He doesn't no? They both do. To say it is one sided is blinkered.

Have you two never seen PMQ before?! They ALL behave like that, and t'was ever thus.

BishopBrennansArse · 19/12/2018 21:01

It's deeply dull whoever does it. Sadly it goes back bloody years (Thatcher/Kinnock is my earliest memories). Shame things can't be more constructive.

Username198 · 19/12/2018 21:01

Another contrived distraction from the mess the Tory government is making (and not just with Brexit) orchestrated by the Tory press

BishopBrennansArse · 19/12/2018 21:02

Spot on, @Username198

Monkeynuts18 · 19/12/2018 21:05

It really, really looks like ‘woman’ to me. ‘Stupid woman’ also seems like a more obvious thing to say in the circumstances. I know they had the whole pantomime thing going on but he was responding to a taunt from her.

No one can be 100% sure - as PP have said, professional lip-readers disagree. But I think this is a good article about why it matters.

medusa83 · 19/12/2018 21:10

Not a fan of Corbyn, and I quite like TM, but I care not a not if he called her "stupid woman" or not. For all his faults, I don't think being sexist is one of them.

medusa83 · 19/12/2018 21:11

**Not a jot

Username198 · 19/12/2018 21:12

If she'd have said stupid man no one would have said anything (although if Jeremy Hunt had call Emily Thornberry a stupid woman no one would have said anything then either)

CaroloftheBalls · 19/12/2018 21:12

DB is a speech therapist and has a PhD in linguistics. He said that Jeremy definitely said “stupid woman.”

countrygirl99 · 19/12/2018 21:15

I'm sure the likes of BJ, IDS and JRM have called her far worse than stupid woman, just not in public. But it's pretty clear that even long term lip readers can't agree what he said so he wouldn't get convicted in a court of law. I'm sure TM and many others have called JC far worse as well. Liar for example without incontrovertible evidence.
