When it's obvious that what he actually said was "stupid woman".

OP posts:
HauntedPencil · 19/12/2018 20:29

What does that even mean?

Fruitbatdancer · 19/12/2018 20:29

He definitely said woman. Saying it I’m not arsed about (I think he’s a stupid man - he also slept with Diane abbot for which he’s also mad) it’s lying about which is about to royally trip him up.
I should confess at this stage that I’m no TM fan, but do have at least 4 friends who joined the Labour Party (despite being hard core Tory) just to vote Corbyn leader as with him at the helm he’s unelectable! Grin

OhDearGodLookAtThisMess · 19/12/2018 20:29

Why would he say "people" when he was responding to a WOMAN speaking.

BishopBrennansArse · 19/12/2018 20:30

All politicians lie, regardless of their position on the political spectrum, let's face it the whole Brexit campaign on both sides were a clusterwank of lies.

Corbyn can be aggressive in debate and I have no doubt he has lied before now.

But not today, not about this.

SheCameFromGreeceSheHadaThirst · 19/12/2018 20:30

Not bothered that the tories lies about how much they would give to the NHS if they got in ? Speaks volumes!

Which poster on this thread has said they're not bothered about that?

TheSultanofPingu · 19/12/2018 20:31

It looks like 'people' to me. It really isn't obvious either way though. This thread proves that.
I do think it's yet another attempt at distraction away from the shambles this government is leading our country into.

BishopBrennansArse · 19/12/2018 20:31

@OhDearGodLookAtThisMess if you look his eyes are scanning the entire story bench who were jeering at him for raising the case of people suffering because of Tory policy. He thinks they're all stupid people. As do I.

HauntedPencil · 19/12/2018 20:31

Because whenever you criticise Jeremy Corbyn it knocks a grand off the NHS budget and an Angel loses its wings

BishopBrennansArse · 19/12/2018 20:32

story tory

OhDearGodLookAtThisMess · 19/12/2018 20:33

He may think that. As might I. But he said "woman."

SheCameFromGreeceSheHadaThirst · 19/12/2018 20:34

Ah, the Jezziah!

Grilledaubergines · 19/12/2018 20:34

The fuss over nothing. She’s made and continues to make stupid decisions. She’s female. Not sure he said anything inaccurate. But regardless? It looks like “people” to me.

Move2WY · 19/12/2018 20:34

I’ve read many times of the feminist boards, people who get angry as the word woman is being eradicated from our vocabulary and then we have people sayings it’s misogynistic to use it alongside an insult. Make your minds up.

I think all this pantomime behaviour in parliament is ridiculous - on both sides. They’re all insulting and offensive to one another.

People are on the street and starving and we have to watch a bunch of overprivelliged idiots squabble. Grow up and fix our country.

who cares what Corbyn said - there are bigger issues than whether or not Theresa May has been given a playground insult.

topcat2014 · 19/12/2018 20:34

Q: How can you tell a politician is lying?

A: their lips are moving.

Lichtie · 19/12/2018 20:35

Are people really offended by someone saying stupid woman. I'm no Corbyn fan but can't get excited or upset about him calling TM a stupid woman.

Move2WY · 19/12/2018 20:36

Another vote for people here too. I’ve forced my self tk see it as woman and I just can’t!

HauntedPencil · 19/12/2018 20:36

It's normal to criticise a politician. How can it be that people can't think of one thing he's done that they don't agree with, or could do differently? Even if you vote for him?

BishopBrennansArse · 19/12/2018 20:37

I disagree actually - if that is what was actually said (which it wasn't) it's incredibly disrespectful.

Which jars somewhat with the whole ethos when Corbyn became leader of a 'new kind of politics' using respectful debate on policy rather than personality politics. Which is how it's been from his direction ever since in the House.

EnthusiasmIsDisturbed · 19/12/2018 20:37

Yes many of us are angry that woman is being eradicated from out vocabulary but that doesn’t mean we are fine the word being bounded about in a deemening manner

HauntedPencil · 19/12/2018 20:37

Move I would really like to be that important that me discussing it on an Internet forum fucks the country up more than if is already, but sadly I am just a big standard member of society and I've got half an hour to kill.

Lichtie · 19/12/2018 20:40

Is deemening a new feminist word 😉

BishopBrennansArse · 19/12/2018 20:40

There's a fair bit Corbyn stands for that I don't agree with and some that I do agree with.

I make no secret of the fact I want a Labour government as under the Tories and austerity my family and others I care about have really had major problems.

Doesn't have to have Corbyn at the helm, though.

He still didn't say woman, though.

The80sweregreat · 19/12/2018 20:41

Considering last week she fought off 117 of her own party colleagues who also believe she's lacking in leadership etc etc this is really nothing! She has a thick enough skin to shake this off I'm sure. It's not good resorting to insults, but this is how these people in parliament carry on. He was caught out this time saying it instead of just thinking it.

SheCameFromGreeceSheHadaThirst · 19/12/2018 20:41

I don't understand: there are feminist concerns that the word 'woman' is being redefined, and hence that the meaning of the word is being eroded, which is somehow dissonant with the word being used in a derogatory/misogynistic way?

I genuinely don't know what point you're making. Could you explain, please?

SheCameFromGreeceSheHadaThirst · 19/12/2018 20:42

I have no idea. What does 'deemening' mean? Confused
