I think he's a cretin and when I heard it on the news I thought it was exactly the sort of thing he would say, but I've just seen the clip on TV and it actually does look like he said "people".

well my comments aren't scripted - been a party member since 1985 - dislike the hardleft feel he is a liability and not the great hope some people think he is - but you know if the visual evidence, the evidence from the deaf community etc wont convince you I guess it will all seem like a huge conspiracy regardless :)

There are other professional lip readers disagreeing, a whole team of them on Sky News right now.

As a fellow professional specialising in speech, voice production and working with deaf children and those with speech pathologies, though not a lip reader, I also disagree.

It might be worth comparing the clip of what he said to the one of him saying he didn’t say “Stupid Woman”.

There’s no difference if you watch both with the sound off.

I'm another Labour voter that isn't keen on Corbyn and wish he'd step aside but, to me, it looks like 'people'.

So far as I can tell, there's a range of opinion among lip-reading experts but a majority seem to be saying its 'people'.

I cannot believe that people are paying more attention to this than the actual crises facing us at this moment in time.

In any case, given that Theresa May was happy to re-extend the Conservative whip to MPs suspended for sexually inappropriate misconduct the moment it suited her to do so, she's hardly a figurehead for women's rights. Why are people more bothered about the fact that a male politician possibly referred to a female politician as a 'stupid woman' (which she is!) than about said female politician's utter contempt for the female victims of her male mps?

Watching the coverage on the news today I think we should get rid of the entire lot of them & start again. Lies, name calling & generally behaving like untrained animals.

My 13 year old daughter was watching with me and commented that if her class behaved like that at school they would get detention, she also seemed concerned that they all found the prospect of our country falling apart to be a laughing matter.

Or, people are paying attention to both of these issues, and many others besides, because they are capable of having points of view on more than one thing at a time.
