When it's obvious that what he actually said was "stupid woman".

OP posts:

He's a politician, they're supposed to lie.
No they are not. You might expect politicians to only present their part of the argument. You might also expect a bit of spin. Outright obvious lies though is new.

SoupDragon · 20/12/2018 13:16

I not convinced he said woman - I was the first time I saw it but, when I watched it again, his lips seem to come together to make the two P sounds in people.

BoneyBackJefferson · 20/12/2018 13:23

Asking a politician not to lie is like telling a bear not to shit in the woods or the pope not to wear a funny hat.

derxa · 20/12/2018 13:27

If this were a thread about actual children we'd be picking them up on the use of the word "stupid" instead Exactly. In my classroom, 'stupid' was the banned word.

Rufusthebewilderedreindeer · 20/12/2018 13:34

derxa

I was a dinner lady for 8 years

I would get little ones coming up to me

Little one....freddie swore Sad

Me....what did he say

Littlle one.....he said stupid

(Sometimes it was 'shut up')

MissionItsPossible · 20/12/2018 13:46

Was convinced he said 'woman' but watching it on Channel 4 news yesterday where they played a looped and zoomed in clip, it looked like 'people'.

jessstan2 · 20/12/2018 13:47

I've just looked at it on Youtube and it seemed clear to me that he said, "Stupid people".

Storm in a teacup.

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 20/12/2018 14:03

Has whoever he said it to weighed in on the discussion? Looking at the video, it seemed to be an aside to the person sitting next to him - and that person should know what JC said.

If JC did say ‘stupid people’, then the person he said it to would have every reason to confirm this - and make the stories look stupid. But if JC actually did say ‘stupid woman’, and the person he said it to knows this, they are in a difficult position - if they back JC up, they know they are backing him in a lie. If I were them, I’d say nothing, rather than lying - so if they haven’t backed JC up, that would speak volumes to me.

Just seen this too

AIBU to expect the labour leader not to tell lies
KissingInTheRain · 20/12/2018 22:34

Yup, in the Church of Corbyn you will always be able to find apologists. Not just any old apologists, mind, like those who deny what he said. No, Corbyn apologists: the ones who will say that even if he did say something bad it still means something different or doesn’t matter anyway because of what someone else has done.

Cult.

PigletWasPoohsFriend · 20/12/2018 22:39

Just seen this too

Well that is strange because another poster with a different user name has just posted the same thing on a different thread. Hmm

Where is your one for Labour MPs doing wrong? I mean one Labour MP has been found guilty at trial this week and could end up in jail. How many are currently suspended too?

If you are going to play point scoring then best make sure your house is in order.

sevensatsumas · 20/12/2018 22:50

At first I was convinced that he was saying woman, but now it's definitely people. It's like the blue dress/gold dress optical illusion.

Soconfusedbylife · 20/12/2018 22:53

I saw people when I watched it.

But what about the Tory MP who called a labour MP a C U Next Tuesday recently? Why didn’t that make as many headlines as personally I find that more offensive.

bottleofbeer · 20/12/2018 23:21

Wtf? Socialism annoy you?

Just...wow. She is stupid and she is a woman,

Oakenbeach · 20/12/2018 23:30

I generally vote Tory and i dislike Corbyn. However, I have no problem with him muttering PM a ‘stupid woman’ in the heat of the moment. It’s a ridiculous fuss about nothing.

Unfinishedkitchen · 20/12/2018 23:41

We’re weeks from Brexit. We haven’t got time for these distractions. Oh look there’s a cat making a weird face.....

Best get Comrade Corbyn on the case to save us from Brexit...oh shit!
