When it's obvious that what he actually said was "stupid woman".

OP posts:
ThatssomebadhatHarry · 19/12/2018 19:44

WinterfellWench

Like when Tory Mp David Mindel called Yvette Cooper a stupid bitch and it was denied, yet is so obvious. Didn’t get much press of course though.

DuckAndPancakes · 19/12/2018 19:48

100% people and not woman.

She’s a stupid twatwaffle whatever is between her legs, but I’m pretty sure he was referencing the pantomime style jeering.

BarbedBloom · 19/12/2018 19:49

As far as I saw, he said people. But at this moment in time, who cares, sort the bloody country out for goodness sake. They are stupid people, the lot of them.

SheCameFromGreeceSheHadaThirst · 19/12/2018 19:50

In a world where we are heading towards the cliff edge of No-Deal Brexit this is what people are worried about? Really? Fucking really????

I don't understand - why do you take the view that people can only process one thought at a time? Why can't people be seriously worried about Brexit yet also have an opinion on the fact that the leader of the opposition is, at a time when public goodwill should be his for the taking, acting like a sneery, squirmy schoolboy?

Why is it one or the other? I'm concerned about numerous things at the minute, politically, professionally and personally, as are most people. It's the old MN 'what about Syria?!' trope in new garb.

brizzledrizzle · 19/12/2018 19:52

@cherrysherbet
Heap of fuss over nothing.

So if you were at a conference for your industry and one of your competitors directors called you a stupid woman, would that be acceptable>

CherrySherbert · 19/12/2018 19:57

So if you were at a conference for your industry and one of your competitors directors called you a stupid woman, would that be acceptable?
You seem to have missed quoting the rest of my post, an honest error on your part I'm sure.

It's a heap of fuss over nothing because, after seeing the slowed down versions, he clearly didn't say 'woman'.

So today the big news story is whether Jeremy Corbyn did or didn't say something that he clearly didn't say. Great!

Bluntness100 · 19/12/2018 19:57

Expert lip readers do agree and it's confirmed as woman.

I agree, a certain amount of denial going on here, which is bonkers. Is there no low this man can sink to that someone won't defend?

SillySallySingsSongs · 19/12/2018 20:00

So today the big news story is whether Jeremy Corbyn did or didn't say something that he clearly didn't say. Great!

Apart from the fact he did say it, yeah.

countrygirl99 · 19/12/2018 20:01

Given all the issues this country is facing I find the whole spectacle manufactured and utterly pathetic. I'm sure TM has the resilience to cope with being called a stupid woman and if she can't, then she had better quit now. After all she is a woman and stupid is pretty mild when you look at some of her policies. Don't be taken in, it's just distraction. Condemn both TM and JC for their policies (or lack of) or for their incompetence. But carrying on this playground spat at any, let alone this time, is crass and unbecoming. They should shut up and get on with sorting out so many actually serious issues.

BishopBrennansArse · 19/12/2018 20:02

YABU.
I'm deaf, have lip read all my life.

He said people.

He has not lied.

MyDarlingWhatIfYouFly · 19/12/2018 20:03

He was clearly talking about the jeering and said "stupid people".

There's an absolute shitstorm that parliament should be dealing with right now, not this irrelevant bollocks.

Snugglepiggy · 19/12/2018 20:05

Evelyn Glennie was a guest on Jeremy Vine today as the story broke and as a lipreader saw it as 'woman'.Tbh as he was responding directly to TM speaking it stretches probability that the word 'people' would be his knee jerk response.

SeaWitchly · 19/12/2018 20:05

Are we watching the same thing? You can clearly see his lips make two plosive sounds in quick succession, as in the word "people". But yes let's all pretend he said something else, and use it to distract the population from the fact the country is collapsing around our ears due to our elected representatives' (of all parties) shambolic desertion of their duties.

This ^

What a ridiculous to-do about absolutely nothing Confused

SheCameFromGreeceSheHadaThirst · 19/12/2018 20:09

I'm deaf, have lip read all my life.

He said people.

Evelyn Glennie disagrees with you.

MyDarlingWhatIfYouFly · 19/12/2018 20:11

And why the fuck is Evelyn Gwennie's opinion more relevant than this poster?????

MyDarlingWhatIfYouFly · 19/12/2018 20:11

*Glennie

SillySallySingsSongs · 19/12/2018 20:11

I'm deaf, have lip read all my life.

He said people.

Yet other lip readers disagree with you.

SillySallySingsSongs · 19/12/2018 20:13

And why the fuck is Evelyn Gwennie's opinion more relevant than this poster?????

Why the fuck is this posters opinion more relevant than Evelyns Hmm

OhDearGodLookAtThisMess · 19/12/2018 20:13

I think that the most worrying thing (and yes, I'm also appalled at the prospect of Brexit) is the number of people who are so enamoured of Corbyn, that they can look at his lips making a "woo" shape and see the pursed lips you need to say "people."
Not that it would be much better if he even had said "people." The guy is a supercilious, patronising and contemptuous twat.

TheFaerieQueene · 19/12/2018 20:13

A politician tell lies. I’m other news, the sun rises in the east and bears shit in woods.

BishopBrennansArse · 19/12/2018 20:14

@SillySallySingsSongs and other lip readers agree 🤷‍♀️

SeaWitchly · 19/12/2018 20:14

But I have watched the footage again and he definitely said 'people' not 'woman' anyway. There is no way the word 'woman' was used, I don't know where people are getting this from Confused

HauntedPencil · 19/12/2018 20:14

I didn't see it live but looking at the clip I think it could be woman or people.

However he's lied before and therefore could quite easily be lying again.

He's not above fibbing is Jezza.

BishopBrennansArse · 19/12/2018 20:15

This is a 'pee' shape not a 'wuh'

AIBU to expect the labour leader not to tell lies
Tinyteatime · 19/12/2018 20:15

You can see him make to two ‘P’ sounds with his lips?! Surely it was people (and no I’m not a fan of Corbyn). But I agree with pps that really it’s a bit of a non issue compared to the shit storm going on.
