Following on from a similar thread asking for examples of companies that give bad customer service... I can name about 5 off the top of my head. TK Maxx, River Island, JD Sports, Debenhams, John motherfuckin Lewis, Cath Kidston, Schuh

The best -

Selfridges
Nando's
McDonald's (staff are usually rude where I am but the customer service team over the phone are brilliant).
Dorothy Perkins
JoJo Mama Bebe

Amazon. Every single time they have been awesome. Even refunding and tellling me to keep stuff they had absolutely no duty to refund in the first place (i hadnt realised when i called).

Ethel80 · 30/12/2018 16:12

Clinique counter in Boots. Twice recently they've been really generous in exchanging products for me that they really didn't have to. I didn't even ask, they just offered. They always give me really good samples when I go away and are lovely people. I think this is a Clinique thing rather than Boots themselves as I've had real problems with No7 and Benefit.

Clarks shoe shop.

My youngest needed new shoes. Our number came up and a young girl came over. I said dc had ASD and would be a challenge, but she was great. Took her time, spoke quietly and clearly. The mgr came over thinking there was a problem as we had been there so long. Turned out she had a younger sibling on the spectrum. It's not necessarily the company that's great. Sometimes it is purely the individual.

notacooldad · 30/12/2018 16:46

Bravissimo are excellent. I'm really impressed with their service.

Ethel80 · 30/12/2018 16:49

ASOS do really quick returns and when a product arrived damaged they sent me a new one and told me to keep the old one.

Suziepoozie · 30/12/2018 16:51

Iceland, their slimming world soups used to be in a package that broke and splintered very easily. I put up with the first one but after one that was totally shattered I emailed them. They called me up, asked for feedback and what I thought could be changed, why I liked the SW products and then told me about some gluten free stuff that was coming out because I mentioned I was Gf. Then they posted me £10 of vouchers and replaced the soup. The soup is now sold in different packaging.

ASOS are very good at replacing faulty stuff quickly, particularly makeup.

RedHelenB · 30/12/2018 16:53

Urban outfitters.

Whataboutbobbo · 30/12/2018 16:54

Ocado all the way.

Gingerkittykat · 30/12/2018 17:01

Amazon. Ordered a special edition vinyl, ordinary version arrived so they sent out the special edition and got to keep the old one.

Amazon, almost 2 year old pair of Doc Martens ripped. Wasn't sure how long warranty on them was, phoned up and they arranged a refund even though they said the warranty was a year.

(off topic but really disappointed with Dr Martens quality these days, I have a pair over 20 years old still going strong)

Amazon again, Kindle developed a faulty patch on screen. Phoned them and got a new one couriered out within 24 hours with 28 days to send old one back.

Zooplus. Sent sachets instead of foil trays twice, refunded without a problem and kept food too. Cat toy broke and again refunded. Last order Yodel messed up delivery so they sent it express by another courier.

Toddlerteaplease · 30/12/2018 17:08

My panda life. Said I wanted to return a pillow and they sent me a softer one. Waiting to see if they want the original back after the 30 day trial.

TickleMyPickle20 · 30/12/2018 17:10

This might seem really biased as I work there, but CEX. they've always given excellent customer service wherever possible and to be honest they're even better to work for.

frumpety · 30/12/2018 17:13

Argos have always been brilliant.

The staff at the little local Sainsburys I use often and at the bigger normal supermarket are lovely. As are the staff at the smallish Co-op supermarket and the Co-op garage. If I win big on the lottery there are a good few folk in these shops who will get a bonus from me Smile

TroysMammy · 30/12/2018 17:14

Rimmel. I bought a mascara f rom a new range which didn't set and the slightest touch left me with panda eyes. They asked me to send it back, no charge and asked what 2 items I would like instead.range

Trago Mills in Merthyr. I live 40 miles away and I didn't check my receipt on leaving and once home found I had been charged twice for one item. They did the refund over the phone.

DianaT1969 · 30/12/2018 17:32

Nationwide counter staff are always great in my local branch.

itsgoodtobehome · 30/12/2018 18:11

A small online company called thisisnessie. They make personalised stationery. I once made a wrong order, totally my mistake, but it wasn’t what I ordered. I contacted to tell them about my mistake and they sent me what I wanted free of charge, and didn’t want me to return the wrong order. I was so impressed that I recommend them to anyone and everyone now!

erykahb · 30/12/2018 18:28

Sounds like you need a life OP

Why is your list so long Hmm

Theunreasonableone · 30/12/2018 18:36

Pret. I’ve complained twice, via FB messenger about sub-standard coffee (cold, not what I ordered) and both times they have sent me a £20 gift card.

Theunreasonableone · 30/12/2018 18:41

Also Tesco. I ordered an online shop last year when the weather was really bad. My delivery slot came and went so I phoned up to see what the hold up was and they refunded me the delivery cost without me even asking.

justaguy · 30/12/2018 18:48

Amazon. I have so many good stories of their amazing customer service.

Unfortunately, they’re currently undoing it all by lying to me and wasting hours of my time trying to resolve an issue. :-(

PseudoQuim · 30/12/2018 18:59

Good customer service:
Frugi - lovely, polite, helpful and quick to reply.
Waitrose
I don't know if this counts, but my local DPD driver (Michael) and also the Hermes delivery guy, who after being due to deliver something a couple of times during my toddler's nap time and seeing my note on the door about not knocking, remembers every time now and waves at me through the window instead just in case he disturbs him Grin

Terrible service:
Vodafone

UnrelentingFruitScoffer · 30/12/2018 19:01

Waitrose are really good.

User758172 · 30/12/2018 19:06

I must put in a good word for Phillips - superb customer service! My steam iron stopped producing steam - a courier arrived the same day to collect it, and I had it back the next morning in perfect working order!

Also Silver Cross. Have sent my pushchair to them twice to be repaired. Fast and efficient and marvellous over the phone. Currently looking for a new pram, but I’ll only buy Silver Cross. They’re just that good.

Frustratedandalone · 31/12/2018 10:15

Fabled are up there for me, ordered some Estée Lauder makeup. The delivery guy handed it over to me and then legged it. The parcel was totally empty. They not only refunded my money, they couriered out to me the makeup I ordered for free. Brilliant service.

Joie uk get a vote from me too. Been using their baby products since I had dd1 5 years ago. Everything is so lovely, built well, their spares team are amazing and dd1 did some modelling for them too.

Worst, Amazon, Argos and Hermes

TitOfTheIceberg · 31/12/2018 10:27

I've had good customer service from Amazon too. I forgot to update my address after we'd very recently moved and ordered something via 1-click without thinking. They cancelled the order and re-sent it to the correct address, it was all sorted in under 30 minutes.

My local Pets At Home and Dunelm are very helpful at helping carry out bulky purchases to the car. In fact every branch of Pets at Home I've ever shopped in has been great. When we take TitDog with us, the staff always offer him a treat from their jar behind the till so he's very appreciative of their customer service too!

In contrast to a PP, I've had great customer service from Halifax on more than one occasion, both in branch and over the phone.
