Following on from a similar thread asking for examples of companies that give bad customer service... I can name about 5 off the top of my head. TK Maxx, River Island, JD Sports, Debenhams, John motherfuckin Lewis, Cath Kidston, Schuh

The best -

Selfridges
Nando's
McDonald's (staff are usually rude where I am but the customer service team over the phone are brilliant).
Dorothy Perkins
JoJo Mama Bebe

Fitbit they replaced it no questions. And krispy kreme cafe/doughnut shop. There is a fella in the Notts store who gives my 4 year old a little espresso cup to put a little milk and tea in, if someone has a hot choc he will put some in a cup for DS. Also they have connect 4 and ganes they bring out for the kids to play with

Our local Aldi is great. I was charged twice for a couple of items, didn’t immediately realise, but when I went back the following week, one of the staff told the cashier to knock it off the bill, no quibble.

I’ve had the same with Zulily. Tried to return a dress and was told to give it to charity. So I did.
Brand Alley
Silver by Mail

Dreadful non service from Lloyds Chemist in Sainsbury’s. I had my prescription there, but when I went in to ask for a repeat, I was ignored for ages. I eventually got someone to order the prescription, but exactly the same thing happened when I went to collect it. I tried to complain online, but no way of doing it and my Twitter complaint was ignored.

My prescription is elsewhere now.

Another vote for M&S - was in there buying a load of party type food and the assistant on the till asked what the event was - explained it was a delayed fireworks party as DC1 had had to go into hospital at short notice so we'd had to cancel the original. Lady then called over her supervisor and asked if she could give us some extra stuff - apparently they had a scheme where a member of staff could nominate to give a customer some nice things - tins of biscuits and boxes of chocolates that were about to go out of date. Thought it was a great way to motivate staff as well as reward customers.

Our local Blue Banana piercer is a young lady who is fab. She really put me at ease when I went for a piercing which was going to be sore. She took her time to explain what she was doing and only continued when I was ready. I was a bit of a baby, but she was really great.

Yes, it did hurt but not as much as I thought it would.

toastfiend · 16/12/2018 17:13

John Lewis. I ordered something for next day delivery for a birthday and it didn't arrive for some reason. They sent out a new one, refunded the delivery charge and credited me £20 on my account.

Amazon. I ordered a bag of dog food that came up as having been delivered and signed for, but I hadn't seen it, didn't recognise the address it had supposedly been delivered to and the signature was just a squiggle with no discernible name. They sent a new bag out via next day delivery with absolutely no quibbles at all.

LoobyLou1976 · 16/12/2018 17:35

SHARK hoovers. My 3 month old Shark's roller stopped turning and so a replacement part was sent out. When replacement was fitted, it still didn't work. Shark then replaced the entire hoover head for free, the part is about £80 on the website. No questions asked, excellent customer service.
Amazon have always been great and refunded straight away for any missing items or problems.
M&S were recently great when due to my own stupid fault I typed the post code of my address wrong by transposing two letters, and the parcel ended up missing (apparently Royal Mail can't read addresses and go by post code). It ended up in a completely different depot and then became 'lost'. M&S sent out a replacement parcel (£100 worth of clothes). A week or so later the original parcel turned up also! M&S never asked for the second parcel to be returned, but I would never dream of keeping it so took it back to my local M&S who looked shocked that I'd brought it back and just said they would add it back into their stock, I was given no documentation to say I'd brought it back, I got the impression it doesn't happen very much! Still paranoid they think I've kept it!
Awful service award however goes to Royal Mail, they have been most unhelpful when things have gone missing, impossible to contact them, waited for 45 minutes on their helpline recently before giving up in frustration. Local depot NEVER answer their phone.

WonkyDonk87 · 16/12/2018 17:39

I was in Tesco earlier and saw a staff member helping a man who was in a wheelchair with his shopping (walking alongside carrying the basket and filling it). She was having such a friendly and genuine chat whilst doing so, despite the shop clearly being rammed and hectic.

LosingLola · 16/12/2018 19:09

@listentothewords that isn't really great service. It's the minimum to be expected. Possibly even substandard, because if you were that nervous and upset she should have refused to do it at all that day.

Judashascomeintosomemoney · 16/12/2018 19:22

Oh didn’t see the other thread but, if I had, my top worst would have been the company formerly known as (by me) Johnnie Lou Lou’s but thanks to you shall, henceforth, be known as John Motherfuckin LewisGrin.

Top service, undoubtedly, First Direct. Twice my FD debit card was turned down in ‘random’ credit checks, as was a third joint ac card, when trying to purchase much wanted gig tickets for DD1s birthday. By the time I’d located an unrelated credit card and secured the tickets, the Ticketmaster timer had run out and the only available tickets were considerably more expensive. First Direct (they did do a bit of investigation first) gave me the GBP 200 difference! Excellent customer service.
Also, Dyson. Yes they’re expensive but, more than one of my vacuums (5 years +) has been virtually replaced top to bottom by engineers visiting under their warranty. They're the Trigger’s Broom of the hoovering world Grin

Brastop

stopfuckingshoutingatme · 16/12/2018 19:27

Natwest my bank
Been with them for years
Get rewards which wipe off the overdraft charge and new card within days

Can’t fault them

lastqueenofscotland · 16/12/2018 19:29

Manchester City were amazing when my seasoncard didn’t turn up, literally had it sorted in minutes over the phone.

There’s an Asda near me which has the nicest people behind the pizza counter (they are a bit familiar with me now)

ListenToTheWords · 16/12/2018 19:36

@LosingLola

I think you're wrong. This lady offered FAR from substandard service. I was not so fearful that she couldn't have done it, but she took the time and showed genuine kindness. To some people that means a lot. She didnt have to do what she did, she could have been quite cold about it and, as you say, not do the piercing that day.

She was lovely and will be getting another visit from me, along with my daughter. I felt valued as a person and as a customer, which is great customer service.

bananasandwicheseveryday · 16/12/2018 19:37

Riverford . A couple of years ago someone knocked on the door, claiming to be one of their reps. They were quite aggressive in their efforts to get is to sign up for a regular delivery. I never buy anything at the door and, since I'd never heard of the company, looked into them. Having read their website, I found it hard to believe that they would want their products promoted so aggressively and began to wonder if the 'rep'was actually a scanner. So I contacted the company. Turned out to be a genuine rep but they were horrified at the hard sell of the rep. By way of an apology they sent me a huge fruit basket full of the most delicious fresh fruit I've ever eaten. Great customer service.

BettyBooper · 16/12/2018 19:41

Green Flag. I broke down the other day. No breakdown cover (vehicle too old). They tried their best to get me a cheaper option to get home. Really amazing. Couldn't recommend higher.

LosingLola · 16/12/2018 19:41

@listentothewords no, it wouldn't have been cold to refuse you if that's what you needed. But that's possibly why she didn't refuse - people who work with customers often don't want a complaint against them, even if it turns out to be unfounded.

You can be lovely and still do the wrong thing.

Chudney · 16/12/2018 19:48

Twinings. My order didn’t turn up and they responded extremely quickly to my email, sending a replacement by express delivery which arrived the very next day. I was very impressed.

goose1964 · 16/12/2018 19:52

John Norris, a hunting , shooting fishing shop, sells Barbour clothing etc

ListenToTheWords · 16/12/2018 19:54

@LosingLola

Well, you only have my word on the above. I wasn't a shrieking mess! I was scared, yes, as it is a well known painful piercing. I didn't need to be asked to return on another day.

Sorry, but in this day and age when we, as customers, are treated like being part of a sausage machine, it is refreshing and uplifting to get a service like this lady gave me. I'm a happy customer and the company gets repeat business. Win win.

Kolo · 16/12/2018 20:02

I’ve had amazing customer service from Argos. Once I had a delivery where one item was missing a part. They sent a replacement the following day.

Loobyloo16 · 16/12/2018 20:04

Next. They always take returns back no problem even if they're two months late (I was in hospital) they're always very helpful.

Littledinosaur · 16/12/2018 20:26

Hope and Frenchie are amazing, they sent a slightly wrong item out, when I let them know they let me keep the original, sent the correct one straight out and even included an extra Christmas candle to apologise!

Photobox have also always been brilliant, I’ve had a few items which haven’t been as good as expected, I’ve let them know on Twitter & they’ve always replaced straight away without question.

Also absolutely hate John Lewis! They messed up an order multiple times, then refunded by accident, when I let them know they told me to keep it as a goodwill gesture... fast forward a year & their collections team contacted me and hounded me to repay the money Angry

Kilpitlees · 16/12/2018 20:35

Clinton cards. They had a Yankee Candle offer recently and I ordered some tealights on my phone. Because the display was small, I managed to order lavender rather than lemon and lavender.
Called customer services who phoned the warehouse to switch the order and sent a confirmation email.
I was so impressed ... it was a small order and they could not of been more helpful or efficient.

longwayoff · 16/12/2018 20:35

3 I've always found five star, Marks, John Lewis, Waitrose. Happy Christmas to all their staff who must be exhausted this time of year.

Lazybonita · 16/12/2018 20:39

Emma Bridgewater. I bought some flutes from them recently, one arrived broken, I sent them a picture and had a replacement pack of two flutes by the next day.
