Following on from a similar thread asking for examples of companies that give bad customer service... I can name about 5 off the top of my head. TK Maxx, River Island, JD Sports, Debenhams, John motherfuckin Lewis, Cath Kidston, Schuh

The best -

Selfridges
Nando's
McDonald's (staff are usually rude where I am but the customer service team over the phone are brilliant).
Dorothy Perkins
JoJo Mama Bebe

@missbattenburg have fond memories of our flight around Everest with Buddha Air. The ear plays and emphasis of the brace position particularlyGrin
Seriously was amazing!

BaaBaaBaaMoo · 15/12/2018 23:46

Recently I have made a concerted effort to shop locally. Great to support local businesses and the service is second to none.

DeltaDelta · 15/12/2018 23:51

Kwik-Fit. Efficient, polite, quick and reliable.

katseyes7 · 15/12/2018 23:51

Bulb Energy. l've just switched to them recently, they bent over backwards to facilitate my switch. When l got my final bill from my previous supplier l sent them the email with the 'penalty for leaving' fee and l got an email within the hour to say they'd credited my Bulb account with that amount.

AnneElliott · 15/12/2018 23:55

Brabantia. Called to purchase a new lid as old one had broken and they asked a couple of questions and sent me a free one.

Beaniebeemer · 15/12/2018 23:57

Not a popular view I know, but I’ve only ever had first class service from Santander.

PocketsForMe · 16/12/2018 00:03

Santander here too Beanie, rave about them all the time.
Also Boost energy customer service team are fantastic.

AutumnGrace · 16/12/2018 00:05

Brilliant service from Marks and Spencers, Starbucks, Costa and Sainsbury's.

Worst Asda SW19 staff (several awful experiences and now don't shop there), Vodafone, Amazon and Closet London.

Itslookinglikeabeautifulday · 16/12/2018 00:10

Lakeland great - no-quibble refund a few years back on expensive frying pan that had lost its non-stick. Didn’t even have to send it to them.

TKMaxx good too - zip broke on a jacket I had only had five months and receipt long gone. I paid by card so they found the payment on their system and refunded.

Worst - Sainsbury’s about eight years ago, when I did my first online order and some imperious tosser rang me at work (I work evenings and he refused to discuss it with DH) to say my card had been declined and unless I paid by a different card they would cancel my order. I later checked my Sainsbury’s account, and my card number was correct, but on their “declined” receipt some dimwit had typed in my card number with a digit wrong. First and last order from them. Attitude stank.

OccasionallyIncomplet · 16/12/2018 00:19

Amazon - when my order didn't arrive, They immediately shipped me a 2nd one - no charge.

katseyes7 · 16/12/2018 00:24

Zulily. l've almost stopped ordering things out of embarrassment as twice recently l've asked to return stuff because it didn't fit and l've been told to "keep it and give it to a good cause". l don't want them to think l'm taking advantage!

ScreamingValenta · 16/12/2018 00:31

Asda, for their helpfulness when I got to the point of paying for a large shop and found I'd left my purse at home. They calmly arranged for me to pick my bagged shopping up from Customer Services when I came back, and gave no sign of thinking me the absent-minded nuisance I undoubtedly was. Their staff are always cheerful and friendly in my local store.

Another vote for Argos too - both their delivery and store staff go out of their way to be helpful.

makeanewname13 · 16/12/2018 00:34

Moonpig.

I sent my dad a birthday card online and used their new add a signature tool to sign the card and had it delivered straight to pops.

Card arrived at my dad's sans signature and he called to say thanks as he'd assumed it was from me even though it just said "love from......,"

Contacted moonpig to let them know their new tool wasn't working. They replied within the day to show me how to work the signature function properly (d'oh!) but also refunded my whole order for the inconvenience.

Bloody nice lot.

The Harry Potter Shop at Playform 9 and 3/4.
I had left it stupidly late to order the VIP pass so that my son could skip the queue to push the trolley through the wall at Kings Cross.
I phoned in a panic and the lady that answered ensured that it was sent out recorded delivery that day. I received it the next day.
Not only that but she kept personally emailing me to give me the tracking details and to check it had turned up.
I sent her flowers and a message to her manager as way of thanks amd to say she was a legend. She replied saying that I was a legend for doing all I could to make my kids dream come true....
Honestly, she restored my faith in humanity.

First Direct
@twattymctwatterson I actually came on here to say First Direct. They earned our undying gratitude a few years ago when DH and I both had our wallets stolen in Paris and we were left with no cards and no cash and a five year old to feed.

The person who answered the phone to us that day really went above and beyond to sort things out for us and managed to get cash to us in time so we could eat that night

allthegoodusernameshavegone · 16/12/2018 00:41

Liz Earle are fantastic on mail order

CrimpBrunette · 16/12/2018 00:43

Jet2 - fab customer service. Was flying with my daughter a few years ago (when she was 5), got sat next to a sweary bloke acting like he was possibly on drugs. We were moved within minutes, without sweary bloke knowing it was because of him. Great service!

makeanewname13 · 16/12/2018 00:55

@allthegoodusernameshavegone totally agree!

They did a recall on a batch of the hot cloth cleanser which I happened to have a tube of. They sent a new tube of cleanser and a prepaid envelope to return the old tube despite it being v v nearly empty. Once they received the returned tube they sent another new one out in the post.

Only complaint with them now is that I've tried to unsubscribe from their emails about 10 times and still keep getting them. I'm on a budget atm as an off on maternity leave on SMP so have downgraded to the Superdrug vitamin E hot cloth routine as a cost saving exercise and all the LE emails are a cruel reminder of who I used to be.....Grin

BipBop123 · 16/12/2018 01:02

Nandos I registered a gift card which was later stolen. The guy canceld the old card sent me a new one and included a free meal voucher! They were fab!
Cosatto and bright starts were fab too.

NoShelfElf · 16/12/2018 01:04

Lakeland without fail.
RAC

elaine26 · 16/12/2018 01:07

Amazon for me, bought a school bag for DS, the zip broke so I emailed them to see if we could get it fixed. They said they weren't able to fix it and there was big problems with the bags. So arranged a full refund including delivery charge, all within 5 minutes of my first email.

Rascalls3 · 16/12/2018 01:08

Aldi Guildford. Always friendly and helpful. Will look (and usually find) if something is out of stock on the shelves. Let my adult daughter use the staff loos recently when the public store toilet was out of use (she had a bladder infection but didn't even have to explain this).
Dyson are also excellent. Replaced a charger for free even though the hoover was out of warranty. Usually manage to problem solve over the phone too.

CherryPavlova · 16/12/2018 01:16

Lots. I do think the service you get is often reflective of how you approach the staff.
Particularly good for me include;
Aldi (really surprised at how helpful they were)
Joules
Boden
Our local butchers
My GP receptionists
Timpson
Kwik fit
Our local Volvo garage
L’Occitane
Jo Malone in Army and Navy
Jigsaw
Finnair
Pret
Waterstones

Lots really. Most in fact.
A few duffers are;
SW trains
Southern trains
TKMax
British Airways

Cherries101 · 16/12/2018 01:19

Amazon is hands down the best. They gave me a refund when I bought a Kindle 2 days before they released a new one, and instead of making me return it they sent me the newer (more expensive one) for free.

IDismyname · 16/12/2018 09:24

Cuisinart are, I think, an American company who make kitchen appliances. Their guarantee for my food processor was about 10 years. After 5, it gave up the ghost, and they sent a courier around the next day with a new one, and took the old one away. And I didn’t even have the receipt. That was about 15 years ago.

I now have a kettle, a sandwich toaster and a hand held blender all made by them.
