Following on from a similar thread asking for examples of companies that give bad customer service... I can name about 5 off the top of my head. TK Maxx, River Island, JD Sports, Debenhams, John motherfuckin Lewis, Cath Kidston, Schuh

The best -

Selfridges
Nando's
McDonald's (staff are usually rude where I am but the customer service team over the phone are brilliant).
Dorothy Perkins
JoJo Mama Bebe

Pizza express

Libby Jane Jewellery. She's independent so it's only her who actually deals with everything. No repeating yourself to different people and she's always fantastic. My first order was for quite a few things and she included a couple pairs of earrings for free as a thank you. Always go to her for jewellery gifts and about once a year, I get another free thing, and she's always been happy to make changes to pieces to suit me. Lovely to deal with and I actually feel like a valued customer, and you don't get that feeling in many high street shops.

PurpleAndTurquoise · 15/12/2018 23:08

Tesco are great.

twattymctwatterson · 15/12/2018 23:09

First direct

nutellalove · 15/12/2018 23:11

Most companies in America. Got norovirus 20 mins before a broadway show , and the day before due to go on a pre paid day trip with a tour operator (both separately booked events). Both refunded full amounts for me and DP (who wasn't unwell but decided not to go to take care of me). No questions asked. Imagine in the U.K..... would need 10 doctors notes and a lawyer and still probably wouldn't get my money back!

WannabeSurfer · 15/12/2018 23:12

John Lewis, Waitrose always good here.

A saucepan I bought from Jean Patrique broke. Couldn’t find the receipt but knew roughly which year I bought it. It had a 25 year guarantee. They found my purchase straight away and sent me a replacement.

QueenofallIsee · 15/12/2018 23:13

Amazon just this week - a Christmas gift arrived emblazoned with what was in the parcel 🤦‍♀️ Talk about ruining the surprise...emailed amazon and though they pointed out to me that it was down in the small print, it wasn’t clear enough in their view and agreed to refund 75% and I can still keep the item. Can’t say fairer than that

dUHcknotdOOk · 15/12/2018 23:14

Slightly random one but my local butchers.

Independent shop owned by a gentleman although iirc his sons now do the day to day running. Top quality meat, so much so my fussy kids know when they're eating meat from elsewhere. More than happy to show said kids on their posters which part of the cow/pig it comes from. And they tip me off when they're making gluten free sausages so I can stock up.

IggyAce · 15/12/2018 23:16

John Lewis, I ordered a wallet for dh it came scratched, they apologised sent out a new one and just asked me to return the damaged one.

Lakeland were also fab ordered a two pack of serving dishes, one in the pack was cracked they dispatched a new two pack and told me to keep the other undamaged one.

peachgreen · 15/12/2018 23:17

Cable and Cotton - a payment I made went through 8 times and the accountant spent his New Year's Day sorting it out.

Snag tights - I ordered the wrong size and they sent me the right size for free and let me keep the others to pass on to a friend.

Biggreygoose · 15/12/2018 23:18

Herring shoes. A pair of shoes on my order was actually out of stock. Quickly emailed, apologised, and offered me 30% of another pair to make up for it. Both pairs dispatched within the hour.

peachgreen · 15/12/2018 23:19

Oh yes FitBit are great. Replaced a damaged strap for me with two others of my choice!

peachgreen · 15/12/2018 23:20

B&Q replaced our dead Christmas tree last year even though we'd lost the receipt and paid in cash so there was no proof we'd bought it from them, or bought one at all, we didn't even bring it with us - we actually just went in to buy another one and ask for some advice on what we'd done wrong!

Toughtips · 15/12/2018 23:21

Boomf... I ordered a pop out card n was disappointed with the pop. They have me an online code for a free one as they thought it was probably faulty. Fab service.

sizzledrizz · 15/12/2018 23:21

The worst was Tesco, the best was Whistles

HazelBite · 15/12/2018 23:22

The worst customer service I have ever had was in my local M&S, also in the Oxford street store, an assistant was incredibly rude to me, when I asked "if they had this jumper in a larger size?" the assistant replied "We might do but I really can't be bothered to look for it". I was rendered speechless!
Good customer service from Amazon, ASDA, Sainsbury's and Lloyds Bank.

I have worked in retail, so always am polite if I have a complaint to make, but with stores its very much down to that particular branch and how they are run as to whether their staff are polite and helpful.

Inertia · 15/12/2018 23:29

I was very impressed with SP Energy’s communication and customer relations when we had a power cut - also found out about calling 105 for power outages , which was new to me !

UnicornPug · 15/12/2018 23:30

I’ve told this before, but playmobil win for me.

Must have been 6 years ago, I bought my kids the Noah’s ark for Christmas. I was putting it together at the start of December when I realised one of the elephants only had 3 legs. I dropped them an email, joking about how it was unfortunate particularly as the animals were identical pairs. They apologised and promised to rectify immediately. A few days later I get in the post....... another 3 legged Elephant.

Genius. The ark is long gone, but I still have the pair of 3 legged elephants.

Mumshotel · 15/12/2018 23:33

Tuti rouge. Amazing customer service

IHopeThisIsAGoodIdea · 15/12/2018 23:34

Does my Hermes delivery guy count? Cuz he's ace.

Mumshotel · 15/12/2018 23:36

Fragrance direct absolutely amazing and can't do enough to rectify any mistakes. Personal service and incredibly generous gestures of goodwill that weren't even that necessary to be honest as they put things right immediately

PickAChew · 15/12/2018 23:38

My local specsavers. Just picked up specs I ordered midweek when my lenses normally take over a week. They know my kids, so marked as urgent to get them to me well before the holidays

Kikithewitch · 15/12/2018 23:39

I had great service from M&S online after our local shop made a cock up on a click and collect order and were really rude about it as well. I rang up to complain and the guy who answered couldn’t have been more helpful if he’d tried.

Lakeland, I ordered a set of mixing bowls and one of them had a chip in it, they replaced the whole lot and told me to keep the original set.

missbattenburg · 15/12/2018 23:40

Buddha Air who once did something wonderful to rectify a mistake we made that meant my Dad could fulfil his dream of seeing Everest. As someone who has been fascinated with big mountain climbing since he was a boy it was heartbreaking when he realised he'd messed up flight dates and missed his trip. Buddha Air made it right and my Dad's face when he first saw Everest was the face of a six year old child - wonder and amazement. That moment will stay with me forever. Thank you Buddha Air. You will never know how wonderful your kindness was.

PickAChew · 15/12/2018 23:43

And yes, fit it replaced dh's almost 2 year old charge. Amazon replaced his original kindle keyboard. No quibble.
