Name and Shame

Name and shame the lousy customer service you've had - if you want to get it off your chest.

I'll start the ball rolling with Plusnet who have screwed up my elderly mother's phone. She was going to move late next week and it's all fallen through so we phoned them yesterday and were on hold for two hours. They have left her with a disconnected phone even though it wasn't supposed to be disconnected until next week and have done nothing to fix it. They promised it would be fixed by midnight yesterday but isn't and she's been in tears about it as she lives alone and is reliant on the phone. I've sorted out a pay as you go for her for now.

I've named and shamed on Twitter and written recorded delivery to the CEO.

ChelleDawg you seem like a twat.

Boots - shocking service, they mislaid my prescription twice after texting that it was ready, this was for antidepressants, I was then forced to suddenly stop which is not advisable, complained in branch to manager, I called customer services and emailed, I was sent a customer survey to complete and that’s it, I’ve heard nothing from them, this was 9 months ago, imagine if this was life saving drugs I needed.

Sky - they charged us £60 for a WiFi router when they took over from o2.

@ChelleDawg2020 you seriously have too much time on your hands. Also the food waste and environmental impact you are causing by having Argos transport items to other stores is awful. This is not a normal reaction to in your case lacking, not even bad, customer service.
On a positive note I had really great customer service from Schuh today. I will be sure to email them and let them know as this thread has reminded me that good customer service can seem quite rare these days.

My local council for cancelling my disabled Freedom Travel Pass SIX WEEKS before it expired, back in January this year. I couldn't understand why it kept flashing up 'invalid' when I placed it on the reader on the bus. They had not contacted me to tell me that they were cancelling them 6 weeks before their expiry dates,'in order to prompt people to renew them'. They assured me,that as a disabled person, the bus drivers could not refuse to let me board the bus. Wrong! Many of them did,so I ended up having to pay for my travel for 2 weeks waiting for my new pass to arrive.

Today in the Nespresso shop - went in to buy a specific machine plus pods. 3 members of staff ignored me. Went away thinking they were just really busy, left it a bit and went back later when they looked quieter. Actually managed to flag someone to ask for help who said very rudely that they would be with me in a minute and that it was a rush today... spent a good 8-9 minutes looking at the different machines while two staff members were chatting amongst themselves. One staff member then went home (shift must’ve ended, fair enough) but actually barged last me to get out the door causing me to stumble and almost lose my balance..: when I spotted ‘my’ staff member serving a guy who had come in after me... clearly they didn’t think I was worth serving Hmm
Went round the corner and bought it from a very helpful guy in John Lewis instead... sticks in my throat to give Nespresso my money though Angry

I can’t imagine having so much pent up hatred and anger that I would go out of my way to do what chelldawg does.

Cooperative Energy. Sent me an email saying that because of the Government price cap, would be obliged to charge me over £360 more per year. I don’t believe that one bit. Plus, though dropping the normal day rate a little, were going to increase the night rate substantially, which really matters if you rely on night storage heaters and overnight water heating.
Switched the next day.

Virgin Atlantic- for leaving my partially sighted diabetic friend alone at Florida airport after our flight was delayed. She'd had nothing to eat or drink, phone had died and sat for 10 hours outside arrivals so we'd see her when we came through. This was after promising me someone would help her.

Royal Mail - for deciding their aggressive arsy postman who'd crashed into MILs car hadn't squared up to me because 'he's not like that'. Thereby accusing me of lying.

My local council for erroneously withdrawing my parking permit without the vires to do so, and getting annoyed that I've sent a ore action letter for a judicial review - apparently it costs them money to get their lawyers to look at it.Hmm

wombatsears · 31/12/2018 18:17

@ChelleDawg2020 that is quite possibly the saddest and most pathetic thing I’ve read on here all year.

Hushnownobodycares · 31/12/2018 18:22

Currys.

Trying to order elderly DM an oven and fitting turned into a two month plus farce. TBF not all of it was their fault but every time I rang them it was 1/2 to 3/4 of an hour to actually speak to somebody and everyone I spoke to told me something different to the last one Hmm. The final straw was them cancelling an entire refund because they hadn't processed it properly.

I ordered the thing from AO in the end and DM got her own fitters in.

PumpkinKitty82 · 31/12/2018 18:27

Moonpig.
Ordered my dads 70th birthday card last week and still not had it.
His birthday was yesterday

Moanranger · 31/12/2018 19:09

AO used to be good, but the original guy who started it sold it to some bastard venture capitalists, I think, so downhill from there.
Talk Talk, my experience with them has been good, but,
BT - truly awful, vile staff of mostly crooks.
My award for worst goes to Vueling. This is the budget arm of Iberia, need I say more.
Had terrible, v delayed flight, moved around Gatwick for hours from gate to gate, no ground staff to explain. Plane finally arrives, had eaten nothing as kept getting moved around the terminal, no food on plane ( you have to pay for everything) I think I bought a pack of pretzels.
Arrived at Florence airport to see the last shuttle of the night disappearing in the distance, so expensive cab to town, and so late, no restaurants open. Got a sandwich in a 24 hour shop.
I got compensation ONLY by going thru CAB, Vueling refused to acknowledge liability, but I got £350 eventually.
Vueling/Iberia - avoid, avoid, avoid!!

AO here, too. Which was disappointing because we'd bought appliances from them previously without any issues whatsoever and always had good customer service.! But the last time will be the last time. Shocking attitudes, too wanting us to wait quite some time for engineers or somesuch to sort out a brand new appliance from them, an appliance that was not working from the get go, as in not fit for purpose. Sorry, no. A brand new appliance shouldn't have issues from the get go, and we weren't willing to spend money on a new appliance that clearly wasn't fit for purpose.. So we wanted it gone, as it our right under the consumer laws, and insisted they take it back. After quite an argument, we did get our full refund and make them take the broken appliance back.

John Lewis sorted out a new appliance for us within 48 hours. The appliance is still working beautifully, several years later. And this year we replaced both our washer and dryer with JL as well ... will never look at AO again.

Trying to get through to the White Company. Been holding for ages.

Does anyone know if I can print out my receipt to return some pillow cases which are too big as I don't know what happened to the invoice with the parcel. Not sure I even got one. Before Christmas rush.
