Name and Shame

Name and shame the lousy customer service you've had - if you want to get it off your chest.

I'll start the ball rolling with Plusnet who have screwed up my elderly mother's phone. She was going to move late next week and it's all fallen through so we phoned them yesterday and were on hold for two hours. They have left her with a disconnected phone even though it wasn't supposed to be disconnected until next week and have done nothing to fix it. They promised it would be fixed by midnight yesterday but isn't and she's been in tears about it as she lives alone and is reliant on the phone. I've sorted out a pay as you go for her for now.

I've named and shamed on Twitter and written recorded delivery to the CEO.

Came here because I knew my employer would be mentioned. Not been disappointed.

DaysOfCurlySpencer · 15/12/2018 20:09

Dreams, bought a bed as we were moving. Paid cash, given delivery date and it was in stock. It didn't arrive. Ever. After 6 weeks we finally got a refund as they clearly weren't going to supply the bed.

Charlies Drawings

Awful customer service. Asked for a change to be made to the proof they sent me. They replied in pigeon english - very short weirdly worded reply. Very unofficial looking. They then sent me another version but didn't tell me if they'd changed anything (didn't look that way)

Did live chat and they said 'so do you want it or not?!'

Very poor. Wouldnt use again!

coffeeagogo · 15/12/2018 20:13

Virgin who left my 74 year old mother with no landline and broadband for 2 months due to them not identifying a broken wire in her street - rude, dismissive, unhelpful and they will never get another penny from us when I move her contract as soon as she is out of contract

Beebumble2 · 15/12/2018 20:16

Woolovers - ordered jumpers, paid by PayPal. Waited 3 weeks nothing turned up. Telephoned them, they agreed they took the money, but had no record of the order!
No apology, but did refund the money. I wonder how they account their profits!

Lauren83 · 15/12/2018 20:17

Lookers KIA. Told us they were adding Gardx to protect the seats 'with us having the baby' as if they were doing us a favour when we bought a new car in Nov then billed us £300 for it and won't return my calls to discuss if

AnotherExWife · 15/12/2018 20:24

NPower.
I was over £500 in credit when I closed my account. For over two months they kept promising a refund then refused to because it was too much to refund!!! I had to get ofgem involved and finally got my money refunded. Customer services were terrible, one women actually laughed at me when I broke down in tears after yet again not getting the refund I was entitled too!

owlshooting · 15/12/2018 20:25

GB Liners removal company. Absolute fiasco. So much stress. Damaged items, lies, lost stuff. I posted a negative review and the manager went mental. Writing me borderline rude emails. No apology, no real recompense apart from a token amount. I will NEVER use them again.

brighteyeowl17 · 15/12/2018 20:26

Yodel with almost every delivery. Left of doorstep. Thrown over fence. ‘Signed for’ by me, except not me- lost an item due to a forged signature and ASOS said I had signed for it so no comeback.

Hermes for the same reason. Can’t actual just deliver a parcel.

Furniture village. First dressing table scratched. Four weeks later new one came. Huge chip and gauge out of drawer. Four weeks later to get response we will swap drawers. Two weeks later new drawers come and don’t fit the unit. Two weeks on not further forward as to a collection and total refund as the woman has stopped answering her phone. Also ordered wardrobes and massive mark on door to which the woman asked us could we ‘ not just live with it’?!

owlshooting · 15/12/2018 20:26

I second Ryanair. I have only flown with them once but will never do so again. They are absolute piss takers.

UhYeahISureHopeItDoes · 15/12/2018 20:27

Yodel.

1-Delivered to the right street in the wrong city

2-Chucked a parcel over the back fence which landed in the kids swimming pool. It was my sisters prom dress and cost a fucking bomb to be dry cleaned as it stank to high heaven of damp and had stains of ink on it from the leaflet/letter inside. Seller blamed yodel - which is fair. Yodel put the phone down. Still heard fuck all back and whenever I buy online I make sure it isn't going to be delivered by yodel.

FrangipaniBlue · 15/12/2018 20:28

VW/Audi Financial Services.

Don't ever take out a lease if you think you might need to cancel it mid term. I had to get the financial ombudsman involved, matter was only partially settled and I still ended up £1000 out of pocket Angry

Judeeee · 15/12/2018 20:30

Virgin Atlantic. Rude check in staff, mainly stroppy crew (although there have been a few exceptions), appalling customer service. Poor communications and lies regarding flight changes, which ruined the end of our trip to NYC.

UhYeahISureHopeItDoes · 15/12/2018 20:32

Oh and British Gas. Tried to charge my nan £800+ for the previous tenants energy usage. Threatened her with baliff letters and court and all sorts. It took weeks of calling, emails and letters to get them to even consider looking at the paperwork that proves she wasnt responsible for paying. And when they did finally squash the bill there was no apology at all. She was so stressed out and terrified in her own home!! Fucking disgusting bastarding cunts!!!!!!!!!

NitroJenny · 15/12/2018 20:34

Admiral home insurance.
Emailed them up saying I wouldn't be renewing with them as I was going elsewhere. They sent me a bill for two extra weeks of cover after the policy had ended which I hadn't asked for (£25). The credit card had expired so they couldn't get the £25. Another snotty letter followed asking for the £25 plus various admin fees. Snotty emails followed to which I replied I never wanted to renew let alone pay for two extra weeks of cover as I had already bought another insurance.
Now I "owe" them £75 for two weeks of cover I never wanted.
Scum.

Waddsup12 · 15/12/2018 20:36

Particularly disappointed with Plusnet as they advertise their good customer service. Got a terrible landline and Openreach say it's fine. It's not fine and I don't want to be told they'll charge a fortune if they don't find a fault. Argued the point and they got quite cross with me.

Pomfluff · 15/12/2018 20:38

BRITISH AIRWAYS!!! Cancelled our flight with 10mins notice and we were rebooked on a new one 2 nights later. However they only gave us a hotel & food voucher for 1 night, which we realised too late after leaving the airport. Had to pay food, taxi and hotel ourselves for the second night. Kept all the receipts to claim back the money which was issued as a clear, itemised invoice. The claim process was started over email but mysteriously stopped. After many expensive, overseas phone calls, only got a vague answer that it's being dealt it.

3 months after attempting to get our money back, finally got fed up and exploded at them over Twitter. Hilariously, this worked and someone actually got in touch right away. Turns out the correspondence emails were being sent to a truncated email address, which was totally bizarre since they HAD my correct email at the beginning of the conversation. Finally got the money after 4-5 months, and never flying BA again.

TheApeOfDeath · 15/12/2018 20:39

Argos - new house - arranged very specific delivery dates - warehouse screw up and we were left with no beds for 2 weeks (me and OH and 5 yr old DS), plus no sofa for nearly 3 weeks! I was 5 months pregnant. Offered us £30 voucher and blow up beds to sleep on for a fortnight. Absolute twats. The blow up beds were laughable. 3 singles. I’ve never been so pissed off with a company.

Vulgarlady · 15/12/2018 20:40

Massimi dutti. Ever tried to buy gift vouchers from them? Real gift cards go missing in the post and the website doesn’t work if you want to buy e vouchers. This has been going on for a few years now, if it was up to me I would never buy from them but it’s a relatives favourite shop...

Inertia · 15/12/2018 20:41

EON.

Cocked up our payments, left an account they said they’d closed lying dormant for three years, then threatened to take us to court for non-payment of an account we’d a) paid and b) closed. Then took the money anyway when I figured out the mistake their shoddy accounting couldn’t track down.

sodabreadjam · 15/12/2018 20:43

Abellio - currently have the contract to run the trains for Scotrail.

They are shocking - so many cancellations one after the other - you just can’t guarantee you will get anywhere on time.

They have given up trying to apologise - just keep saying it is due to staff shortages.

The sooner the railways are re-nationalised the better.

Ryanair. Arrived to the airport suitably early with a large suitcase. Enormous queues. Get to desk. My luggage is 700g over limit. The scales I used to check weight were showing just under limit so I thought I was okay. I have to pay the fine or throw something out. My suitcase has broken on holiday and it's wrapped to death in clingfilm. I explain this and beg for exception as it's not even 1kg. No budge from staff at desk. I go and pay £40 quid for excess luggage aka 700g to avoid being late or not being able to fly with a burst suitcase. I vow never to fly with them again. This was 7 years ago and I never have. Never will. Grin

UpstartCrow · 15/12/2018 20:50

No Hermes, your delivery driver did not post my duvet through the fucking letterbox. You promised me an email within 24 hours and that didn't arrive either.
