Mine was Mr Frosty. Far too messy! My mum bought it for my 21st birthday as I'd gone on about it so much Smile

Yup! Mr Frosty here too!

BarbedBloom · 15/12/2018 08:03

I had a Mr Frosty and a Srcret Keeper. I wanted a dog and asked every Christmas but never got one. I also wanted a toy Dalmatian puppy that barked and did a somersault that I saw when we were on holiday when I was five. Apparently I asked for it every year after that

SheSnapsThenSheFarts · 15/12/2018 08:09

So many people (including me) longed for a Mr Frosty but were bitterly disappointed year after year. Probably because they were shit. Wondering if I should design a Mr Frosty for grown ups who missed out? Not a shit one though. Obviously.

policeandthieves · 15/12/2018 08:18

A pantomime horse costume - funnily enough I didn't get it

feelingverylazytoday · 15/12/2018 08:29

Loads of stuff, partly because my parents couldn't afford much, partly because they were the type of parents who bought us what they thought we should have rather than what we actually asked for.
Yes I'm still slightly bitter about the second part 50 odd years later, and it's why I always tried to get my kids exactly what they wanted as far as my budget allowed.

eco1636 · 15/12/2018 08:33

I asked for Mr Frosty and Mr Pop every year. I finally got Mr Frosty and it wasn't all that. Incredibly difficult to crush ice with two pieces of soft ish plastic, we needed two people to turn the handle, haha

Beautifulsunshine · 15/12/2018 08:39

Yet another one for Mr Frosty. Quite disappointed they are rubbish, was going to get one for the kids (me!)

Wellhellothere101 · 15/12/2018 08:42

This thread is stressing me out a bit! My 8 year old DS has asked for a Nerf Rival Nemesis gun which is basically a huge plastic gun that costs £200! We haven't got him one unsurprisingly and I now feel bad I'm going to damage him for life 😁

MimsyBorogroves · 15/12/2018 08:43

A pony and a Mr. Frosty.

Sitranced · 15/12/2018 08:44

I wanted an invisible dog but I got Mr Frosty Grin

Wejustdontknow · 15/12/2018 08:44

Me frosty for me too, we have actually bought it as a surprise for ds who is 5 this year as he has been asking for it for ages as well

KatsutheClockworkOctopus · 15/12/2018 08:52

I wanted a Girls World through my childhood but never got one.

Sindy horse.

Foslady · 15/12/2018 08:52

A scalextrix (sp?) - they’re boys toys Xmas Angry.
Guess that set me off on my equality route!!!!

DoYouLikeHueyLewisandTheNews · 15/12/2018 08:54

Easy bake oven and a scooter.

LaurieMarlow · 15/12/2018 08:56

Another Mr Frosty. I'm convinced no one got them. I'm not even sure they actually existed outside of TV ads and the Argos catalogue.

Fruitbatdancer · 15/12/2018 08:57

A cabbage patch doll
Teddy rupskin? (The talkingnone?)
A 6 foot teddy bear - having seen one in door of hamlets in London I asked for one for 10 years straight. Never got it. When I whinge about this now my mum informs me that my DH is my 6 ft bear Hmm

YouTheCat · 15/12/2018 09:00

A desk when I was 10. I knew it was expensive (£25) but I'd said I'd happily not have any other presents. Sadly, it was just a bit too much.

I was still grateful for what I got though.

Spudlet · 15/12/2018 09:02

Another one still waiting for my pony [taps foot impatiently]

I won't paste the full passage, but anyone with a Pratchett-esque sense of humour and an unfulfilled pony request may find the quoted passage halfway down this page amusing... what happens when you actually get what you wanted 🐴😂

Wooooooooaaaaaaaahhhhhhh · 15/12/2018 09:04

Came on here just to say Mr Frosty! I feel like I’m with my people after reading this thread. Grin

sweetcherrycake · 15/12/2018 09:07

Ah me to mr frosty! And now my son keeps asking for it and I'm the same as my mum not having that crap 😂 also a pony... I still want one now! Haha

Busybusybust · 15/12/2018 09:10

a pony - every year!

chunkyjumper · 15/12/2018 09:13

@Sitranced how do you know you didn't get the invisible dog? Maybe he was just quiet?! Wink

CantsitWontsit · 15/12/2018 09:15

I wanted that hippo soft toy from the Silent Night ads. Used to look at it in the Argos catalogue and wish and hope. Year on year. Never got it.

crispysausagerolls · 15/12/2018 09:15

How can people say Mr Frosty wasn’t absolutely gold?! Yes, you had to turn the handle for about 5 hours to produce a bit of ice dust but still, he was such fun! He made treats for everyone!

babysharkah · 15/12/2018 09:17

Mr frosty here too. And now I've turned into my mum by refusing to buy it for mine as it looks like shite and probably won't work!
