Mine was Mr Frosty. Far too messy! My mum bought it for my 21st birthday as I'd gone on about it so much Smile

I now feel privileged as I had the Cadbury chocolate thing. 2 in fact one Christmas. Also had a Sindy house but sadly no play doh anything(it makes a mess) no Mr Frosty (it s plastic rubbish)
Overall thinking back I did ok. Was an only child though

Roomba · 16/12/2018 09:48

My friend at uni once cried when very drunk because she'd never been bought the Fisher Price kitchen she asked for every christmas and birthday. Apparently this meant her family didn't really love her, it was proper full on snotty sobbing.

So at Christmas we all clubbed together and bought one for her second hand, plus loads of pots, pans and fake food. We all got very drunk on Christmas day and spent hours playing with it together Grin. She thought it was the best present she'd ever received!

Mr frosty and the barbie house

chunkyjumper · 16/12/2018 10:04

@Roomba that's hilarious! What a nice thing to do!

A dear diary (think that's what they were called) They were digital hand held things in the 90's.

beardeddragon174 · 16/12/2018 10:34

@GandalfsRing if you can I recommend getting the Dream Phone game assistant. I was lucky enough to have it as a kid and still play it now from time to time with friends. It is hilarious (I am 34).

beardeddragon174 · 16/12/2018 10:35

Second-hand, not assistant....

chunkyjumper · 16/12/2018 10:40

@beardeddragon174 I saw it in Smyths but it's a mobile phone rather than a landline. Was tempted to buy it for daughters Xmas... I suspect the original version would be better though!

A flying boat, as featured in a Rupert Bear annual.

Tbh I’m still devastated.

Thanks for reminding me.

IncyWincyGrownUp · 16/12/2018 11:38

Roomba that’s what I call proper batshit uni friendship. Superb!

Madmoggie · 16/12/2018 11:49

Paul McCartney! Wrote him down on my Christmas list for about 30 years. Needless to say my name is not Linda, Heather or Nancy!

BessMarvin · 16/12/2018 14:06

I'm another Mr Frosty. And I also got bought one for something like my 21st. I think it's in the loft somewhere.

I remember the advert and can't work out why it looks so exciting!

I had the Cadbury chocolate machine. A box of replacement chocolate cost way more than 2p each, and you could hold the 2p in the machine, empty it, and still take your 2p back. Loved it though!

ikltownofboothlehem · 16/12/2018 14:09

DH got the treehouse one year. He loved it. But one day he left it too close to the fire and it melted. I'd love to get him another one but they're ££ on eBay and we've got nowhere to put it.

Lizadork · 16/12/2018 14:17

Request 1: To be adopted
Request 2: Boarding school
Request 3: A baby sister

Actually from a happy home Hmm

CottonSock · 16/12/2018 14:23

Play doh hair dresser set. I got it for my dd (me) last year.
Mr frosty was probably on the list at some point.

chunkyjumper · 16/12/2018 14:25

@Lizadork that made me lol! Xmas Grin

justilou1 · 16/12/2018 14:30

Barbie Campervan - I never got it. (And I'd rather chew off my own leg than go camping now!)

GandalfsRing · 16/12/2018 14:33

I wanted to go to boarding school too! Lizadork you didn’t recieve the St Clare’s or Mallory Towers books the year before by any chance?Grin

Heaviestdirtyestsoul · 16/12/2018 14:47

I was a quite spoiled child materially, but one christmas i asked for the get in shape girl wrist weight bangles and the leg warmer/ sweat band set, but got the ribbon on a stick. I knew it was an awesome present still and thought that maybe santa knew what I wanted better than I did 😁 wish I had kept my big yellow teapot, and never wanted a mister frosty- kind of want one now though 😂

chunkyjumper · 16/12/2018 15:03

@Heaviestdirtyestsoul I forgot about 'Get in Shape girl!!!!' How ace was that! I used to dance (jump about) with my ribbon to the cassette tape!

And

@justilou1 I did actually get the Barbie camper van!

@Heaviestdirtyestsoul how very 'kids from Fame' of you....

Altogether now 'What a feeling...!'

Avegemitesandwich · 16/12/2018 15:10

I asked for Mr Frosty several years in a row and when we finally got one it was so disappointingly shit! I got one for the kids last year, still shit.

Also wanted the Cadbury dispenser, the Dream Phone game and The Game of Life.

Avegemitesandwich · 16/12/2018 15:12

My cousin had the Post Office and I LOVED it! All those little slips of paper!

sayanythingelse · 16/12/2018 16:25

Mr Frosty was rubbish anyway, you didn't miss much.

Santa refused to bring me Chicken Limbo. I'm still bitter.

MoaningSickness · 16/12/2018 16:34

I always wanted a Victorian-style dolls' house - the sort with a proper staircase and lots of tiny details.

Yes, this was the thing I always wanted but didn't get too! I think about getting one for my daughter, but it would be for me not her, really...
