Mine was Mr Frosty. Far too messy! My mum bought it for my 21st birthday as I'd gone on about it so much Smile

@Pleasegodgotosleep I had the same with my younger sister and the A La Carte Kitchen, a Popple and a Keyper. I still haven't forgiven my mother Santa for that one. I'm also 40. #neverforget

UnapologeticallyUnhinged · 15/12/2018 16:22

Oh yeah and she also got a FULL SIZE Boglin when I only got a finger one.

ballroompink · 15/12/2018 16:26

Pop Up Pirate game
A Soda Stream!

With my sister it was a horse.

geekone · 15/12/2018 16:30

Cabbage patch doll

TartanHare · 15/12/2018 16:33

Mr Frosty
Big yellow teapot
A horse!

TheOxymoron · 15/12/2018 16:36

For all those that lost out on Mr Frosty.
I remember the bloody contraption was too weak to turn and crush the ice.

It was voted the most disappointing toy of the 80’s

I got a Mr Frosty and it was rubbish. It never ground the ice up to make slushy it just turned the ice cube around and it melted.

I was very disappointed

Iftheresawilltheresaway · 15/12/2018 16:54

I got Mr Frosty. A popple. Cabbage patch doll. A la carte. Couldn't believe could still get years later and bought my daughter one. Had a keeper too. Was a breeze to set up since I'd had one. All those saying didn't get a Mr Frosty or keeper not missing much. Ads were great but in reality toys were crap. What I always wanted I never got. For years I hoped and at Christmas I got lots so unsure why I never got this.

It was a sindy house. I loved Barbie and sindy. But never got any of their houses.

UnapologeticallyUnhinged · 15/12/2018 16:59

My older sister got the Sindy house. I have to say it was fabulous even though I was more of a My Little Pony/Care Bears gal. It had a string operated lift on the side and fantastically kitsch printed 'room settings' and we still have some of the stuff from the kitchen. Sindy was well better than Barbie.

Iftheresawilltheresaway · 15/12/2018 17:05

I loved both. I had romance and roses sindy and city girl etc and no house. I had care bears and little pony. My pony was the yellow posie one. As an adult now I've got care bears pyjamas and mug, I couldn't resist as had pyjamas as a kid lol. I'd have swapped all my Christmas gifts for that sindy house.

EnglishRose13 · 15/12/2018 17:09

Scampi the Dog toy! I must have asked for one for two or three years. My birthday is just after Christmas so my parents still couldn't get it for then, either. I'm still bitter about this!

My brother wanted a Mr Frosty but never did get one from Father Christmas so my mum bought him one a few years ago. We are adults now 😂

abcriskringle · 15/12/2018 17:11

A doll's house. I did get the Polly Pocket mansion though, complete with pony and convertible car so can't complain really.

Blacktoffeecat · 15/12/2018 17:13

I never asked for anything, you got what you were given! I really wanted a My Little Pony Castle and Mr Frosty, never got either. My parents say they’d have got them if they’d known- I kept it to myself.

Blacktoffeecat · 15/12/2018 17:15

I did have the Sunday house one year though- it was fab. My grandparents made the furniture and bedding for it (grandpa did woodwork and grandma sewed).

Blacktoffeecat · 15/12/2018 17:15

Sindy

CuppaSarahsCuppaChristmasCheer · 15/12/2018 17:16

Mr Frosty here too

Penninepain · 15/12/2018 17:17

A stylophone. Rolf Harris (!) Made it look sooooooo brilliant. I asked for ine, i dreamt of Christmas morning when i would get to play it.
I never got a stylophone. My best friend did, which made it even harder 😐

Iftheresawilltheresaway · 15/12/2018 17:33

My friend and I used to make beds and build houses using shoe boxes. The doll stands that came with barbies we turned upside down and put fabric over to make a table. I had the Barbie fashion boutique so used the 3 shop units it came with as furniture. Going to call my dad later as I never did find out why I never got that sindy house lol

Polkapjs · 15/12/2018 17:38

Cabbage patch and another MR Frosty lamented here

Hollipopsmum · 15/12/2018 17:38

Mr Frosty here too- my dog bought me one a few years back for Christmas- it’s rubbish 😂

Hollipopsmum · 15/12/2018 17:38

Whilst my dog buying mr frosty would be really impressive was actually my dh!!

ScreamingValenta · 15/12/2018 17:40

Hollipops I know people often get cards from their dogs, but a Mr Frosty - wow! Xmas Grin

Iftheresawilltheresaway · 15/12/2018 17:43

Hope the dog got a bon-ice for that gift

n0ne · 15/12/2018 17:45

A la carte kitchen, petite 990 typewriter.

I did get a Mr Frosty! But put a green crayon through it and that was the end of that Blush

Chesneyhawkes1 · 15/12/2018 17:48

Mine was Mr Frosty too.

Was tempted to buy one for myself as an adult, but my cousin said they were rubbish anyway.
