wtf ? why on earth would anyone with half a brain cell think that is a good thing ? if labour do succeed then hopefully he'd get ousted for someone else instead. the current government have left me very disillusioned but corbyn...really ??
what are your thoughts ?

thats it good to know you never had / knew anyone who was killed by them, don't tell me not to 'bang on' about it you don't know me or the trauma my family have been through !

I would love to have a Labour Government under Corbyn - a government actually trying to improve the lives of people, instead of punishing them. It's the only way this asset stripped country will be regenerated. Austerity has been a massive con to shrink public services. If you've worked in the NHS, Social Services or Education you will know exactly what I'm talking about.

makingmiracles · 09/12/2018 19:06

I think he deserves a shot, why not have a look (don’t know the web address you’ll have to google it) at the voting records of mps and also the attendance rates for how often they were in parliament and participating in debates....its very telling, look at Corbyns votes and tell me he isn’t consistent and present most of the time.

This government are killing people. Bollocks to the reference to dying of flu, that may be true that people died of flu but it doesn’t excuse the fact people are dying because they aren’t being sanctioned by UC and being left destitute for weeks or months on end, people that have taken their lives because they can’t win against the system and have lost all hope of it ever getting better.

You’ve got women in domestic abuse situations who can’t leave because this government has cut funding to women’s refuges forcing many to close, resulting in deaths by husbands/partners.
YOUve got people living and dying in tents on roadsides because they’ve lost their homes due to sanctions. A chap was found in a town near me dead in a tent, forensics said he’d been led there undiscovered dead for best part of a year.

This government are harsh and evil. I could have cried the morning after the election and then again when they partnered up with the dup. Horrifically depressing.

Firstworddinosaur · 09/12/2018 19:07

I hope he becomes PM! Although I doubt the billionaires that run things will let it happen.

Blacktoffeecat · 09/12/2018 19:08

Corbyn can’t and won’t get in. Labour need a better, new Labour type leader. Would Keir Stamer fit the bill?
I’m a Tory voter but would vote whichever way to stop Brexit, but couldn’t vote for a Labour with Corbyn at the helm.

PinkSparklyPussyCat · 09/12/2018 19:09

Corbyn, Abbott, McDonnell, Watson etc couldn't run a bath, let alone the country. I'm sure we'll be heading the same way as their beloved Venezuela. The current government is shit, but we don't have a viable opposition.

phlebasconsidered · 09/12/2018 19:09

I see kids in my class going without food and relying on food banks. I see cuts to services so severe that children in need of camhs and support can't get it. Social services so pared down I worry for the safety of some children. I buy my own gluesticks and pencils and we'll probably lose more staff next year.

In the face of all that, yes, i'd bloody love him to get in. I'd happily pay more tax to keep local services. Because it's not all about me.

Cosmoa · 09/12/2018 19:13

@paintinmyhairAgain

" anyone one in power apart from him"

Be very careful what you wish for!

Cosmoa · 09/12/2018 19:13

And I'd also love to see him in #10!

ohreallyohreallyoh · 09/12/2018 19:15

disrspectful

Whilst you’re rolling your eyes. I am £2k down on Universal Credit compared with where I was this time last year on Tax Credits. I am a full time teacher in a shortage subject area.

I am a single parent and no Government has succeeded in getting maintenance out of my ex - neither is there the will to help us. In addition to my job, I tutor and mark exams - so 3 jobs in total. I barely see my children.

Can you explain to me how/why I deserved the cut? Or how people with disabilities deserved cuts to benefits? Can you explain why, as a working professional, I sometimes go without lunch to keep my costs down -that’s a home made lunch, not a canteen one?

Busybusybust · 09/12/2018 19:15

I’m desperate to lose this appallingly uncaring load of Tory shites. But sadly I think JC is too accident-prone to be electable. What we need is the wonderful Mhairi Black to defect from the SNP and join the Labour Party!

HotSauceCommittee · 09/12/2018 19:17

I’m a leftie, always have been, always will be, but I’m another one praying for Kier to take over, or David Milliband or fuck it, Tony Blair.
I voted Labour (as always) last time, but was voting for the party, rather than Jeremy Corbyn. He’s just lost me with the pro-Brexit, pro-self ID, anti-Semitic, Momentum approving stance.

HotSauceCommittee · 09/12/2018 19:18

I’d still prefer JC to the Tories. Imagine railways renationalised!

HotSauceCommittee · 09/12/2018 19:19

Agreed Busybusybust

Frouby · 09/12/2018 19:19

I am not a JC fan, I was but then I changed my opinion.

However. I would rather have JC and a shite labour party than the utter fucking cunts of tories that currently run the show.

Labour might fuck it up, but at least they will fuck it up by trying to actually improve things socially. At the moment it's like a return to the dark ages where the rich blatantly fucked the poor up the arse and laughed and feasted while they did it.

With labour in charge at least we all go down together.

Calvinsmam · 09/12/2018 19:19

I think if another election was called the snp would win scotland back, UKIP would get quite a few supporters, and labour would lose a few.
We could be looking at a Tory/UKIP coalition or a labour/snp coalition, either would be a nightmare.

PinkSparklyPussyCat · 09/12/2018 19:20

Things must be bad if you want Blair back in No 10!

Ninoo25 · 09/12/2018 19:20

I’m not particularly a fan of Corbyn himself, I do not think that he’s a strong leader. The press (often unfairly) tear him to pieces to make him look much worse than he is though). I hope there is a general election very soon and that Labour get in, with or without Corbyn as their PM. It’s the party I vote for more than the individual. At the last GE they had a lot of good policies and the Tories have brought large parts of this country to their knees. I truly can’t understand how they are still in government and there hasn’t been some sort of uprising against their damaging, draconian policies.

JustDanceAddict · 09/12/2018 19:20

Would love a labour govt but not with Corbyn as leader. Anyone else but him and his cronies.
Maybe David Milliband will rescue us?

Ninoo25 · 09/12/2018 19:21

Frouby I agree

HalloumiGus · 09/12/2018 19:25

OP if you really had trauma due to the Troubles you should know that people willing to talk with the IRA and loyalist paramilitaries eventually brought about the Good Friday Agreement and 2 decades of relative peace. So Jeremy Corbyn was well ahead of his time.

Whereas the Tories and Brexit / their forced marriage to the DUP are threatening peace all over again. Fucking ironic really that you think Corbyn and Labour are the threat Hmm

Puzzledandpissedoff · 09/12/2018 19:26

Another one here who's voted Labour before and hopes to again one day - but not while the current rabble's in charge

A poster on a previous thread suggested that "everyone should experience a hard left Labour government once in their lifetime; the experience will always guide them in the future^

Made sense to me ...

Treezylover · 09/12/2018 19:33

I really hope so. A socialist is probably the last chance our public services have got of surviving. The ‘school’ documentary is sickening. Train journey prices are increasing despite the service continuously failing its customers, people are dying because of austerity, Instead of giving to the homeless or a charity, workplaces now give to food banks because even people with jobs or on benefits can’t afford to live, the nhs is at the brink of collapse, our councils can’t afford to carry out their legal duties, kids with SEN are being failed, our police forces can’t function, and our elderly are suffering. What exactly is so desirable about the current shitshow?

Treezylover · 09/12/2018 19:34

Yes.

TheEmojiFormerlyKnownAsPrince · 09/12/2018 19:41

I also find this sickening.

The awful racist Tommy Robinson and his hideous Brexit March. The Tories are the ‘tradional’ Brexit party, and therefore guilty by association in my eyes.

I wish the British people had some of the passion of the French. But it seems everyone takes the insults lying down in England.

I guess this is why the French had revolution and we didn’t!😁
