The Labour party with Hillary Benn as leader would get my support.

and mine. Oh if only!

Puzzledandpissedoff · 10/12/2018 12:18

If you actually want a Labour Government, the only way to get one is to dump Corbyn
Corbyn should be way ahead in the polls with the performance of this current shower of Tories and yet he isn't. Because he is unelectable

Exactly - he's an absolute gift to the Tories and they know it

As a man who has lived in privilege all his life (mansion in Shropshire,

A bit unfair to blame Corbyn for his parents' choice in where to live!

While I'd love to see a proper socialist government, I doubt it's going to happen. If the right-wing media don't kill his campaign, the right-wing in the party are likely to stage some sort of coup.

I also find it hard to imagine a government less competent than this one. The under-funding of public services is bordering on the criminal imo.

letstalk2000 · 10/12/2018 12:35

Would he vote against himself !

I think the 1979 Peter Sellars film Being There describes the almost hysterical rise to prominence of a 34 year back bench MP who nobody could give a toss about .

CheeseTheDay · 10/12/2018 12:46

I bloody well hope not.

I think as a family, we'll be making aliyah if he does get in.

I think you are trying to apply nuance to the "privileged" argument that a lot of his supporters lack when using the same argument against the opposition party

While I'd love to see a proper socialist government, I doubt it's going to happen. If the right-wing media don't kill his campaign, the right-wing in the party are likely to stage some sort of coup.

So it's nothing to do with him then?

I also find it hard to imagine a government less competent than this one. The under-funding of public services is bordering on the criminal imo.

And Corbyn still is polling evenly with "Don't Know" for who would make the better prime minister, don't tell me why, its the right wing media...

The problem is that national governments have relatively little influence over the economy these days. The danger with JC is that he doesn’t seem to have realised that yet.

It’s a bloody depressing global race to the bottom but I don’t think JC is the answer.

Andromeida59 · 10/12/2018 18:34

Of course it's not his fault that he was brought up in privilege. I just struggle to understand how someone who has never lived in anything but privilege is seen to be a working class hero.

Can someone please explain to me exactly how Jeremy Corbyn is so different and please don't just respond with "JC4PM". People who post this look like mindless idiots.

During the 2015 campaign, Corbyn never ventured outside of London whilst his colleagues spent months working with candidates in key seats. I'm sure he was busy in his allotment but he only seems to get involved when it's in his own self interest.
