ILoveSooty and then went exactly the way I expected. All on the basis of a DM story much of which is old news.

Exactly

VisitorsEntrance · 09/12/2018 16:01

From experience, there is literally no point. You can do it yourself. They're not hard to find, they were only in the last couple of days or so.

And I know that from experience there is no point in asking for links to threads or quotes.

Snowballs4ever · 09/12/2018 16:01

Hes vile. He shouldn't be entitled to ANY NHS treatment, not even for a common cold, let alone a sex change.

VerbeenaBeeks · 09/12/2018 16:02

I doubt they exist if they can't link them

Grin Biscuit

Seeing as there's at least one poster on this thread that was on the others during the past couple of days they at least know damn well they exist.

VerbeenaBeeks · 09/12/2018 16:03

Oh good.

I agree with that!

ilovesooty · 09/12/2018 16:05

I think the fact that he and his crimes are vile is something we can all agree on.

However that isn't the main consideration for some of the posters here. They're less concerned about his crimes and victim impact than pushing their own agenda.

Absolutely all of this.

MrsTerryPratcett · 09/12/2018 16:23

Many of us are concerned about future victims if he and his like are allowed to move to the female estate. Women in prison are extremely vulnerable and locked up.

I will never understand this. Stopping men like Huntley from accessing more victims IS the agenda. Preventing him from having his crimes recorded as being committed by a woman called Nicola IS the agenda.

What do you think feminism is for? It's for women, to liberate them from a society that thinks so little of them it's allowed the law to let people like Huntley access more victims.

If it was, say, schizophrenics who had invented a law that allowed this, I would be talking about schizophrenics. My
'agenda' wouldn't be about schizophrenia, would it?!

Honestly. 'It's not all about you' is a phrase that comes to mind.

ilovesooty · 09/12/2018 16:27

MrsTerry I've a lot of respect for your concerns - I know you know what you're talking about and you speak from experience. I'm not so convinced about the motives of some of the other posters here.

MrsTerryPratcett · 09/12/2018 16:33

Thanks sooty.

VickyEadie · 09/12/2018 16:46

My "motives" are protecting women from predatory men.

A few people chuntering about capital punishment doesn't negate the fact that some evil men are seeking to abuse current policy to further their evil aims.

InfiniteSheldon · 09/12/2018 16:46

If the choice is accepting all TWAW Inc Lianne/Nicola and KW and saying actually no TW are not women then I'm truly sorry for all the lovely genuine TW out there but my choice is made. However it's not that black and white yet. With the current GRC rules TW can live as women and I will continue to politely pretend they are. Changing the GRC rulesand widening the definition of trans is the battleground not whether all TWAW. Forcing women into the TRA groupthink is a hill I'll die on to protect vulnerable women and children.

Monkeynuts18 · 09/12/2018 16:46

The story, if true, is concerning.

However, not ONE respectable paper has run this story. It’s been picked up by the Mail, the Star, the Sun and the Mirror. None of the broadsheets have run it - not even the Telegraph, which usually loves this kind of rightwing dog-whistle story. And if you read the stories, they all just refer vaguely to ‘a source’ or ‘reports’.

So I’m sceptical it’s even true.

M4J4 · 09/12/2018 16:56

Biscuit

One poster? Is this the MN equivalent of vaguebooking? Either say who it is or stop hinting.

VickyEadie · 09/12/2018 16:56

not even the Telegraph, which usually loves this kind of rightwing dog-whistle story.

They ran it a few months ago, in fact.

sackrifice · 09/12/2018 16:56

My 'agenda' is ensuring that women and girls keep the pitiful rights that they have fought for over the last 100 years.

VerbeenaBeeks · 09/12/2018 16:59

Well, seeing as there's at least one prevalent posters from the other thread, and someone saying "you said something like that the other day" it's quite blatantly clear there have been other threads.

Monkeynuts18 · 09/12/2018 17:13

*not even the Telegraph, which usually loves this kind of rightwing dog-whistle story.

They ran this one in 2017, but they picked it up from the Sun, and it’s a different story - it’s the ‘Lian’ one: www.google.co.uk/amp/s/www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2017/02/15/call-lian-child-killer-ian-huntley-has-told-inmates-call-feminine/amp/

But not one broadsheet has picked up THIS story (I.e. today’s).

starcrossedseahorse · 09/12/2018 17:17

Amazed at the 'pushing their agenda' comment. Is protecting women and children from Ian Huntley an 'agenda' now? Fine if it is because that is what I and many others wish to do. Did you read the Karen White story sooty?

My question in response would be - why do you not care enough about women and children to care about this current assault on our rights, our safety and our boundaries?

sackrifice · 09/12/2018 17:17

Well, seeing as there's at least one prevalent posters from the other thread, and someone saying "you said something like that the other day" it's quite blatantly clear there have been other threads.

Huh?

What thread, what poster/s, what something like what?

You keep saying 'people do this all the time, I saw it yesterday/the other day'...perhaps it is time for you to start learning how to screenshot stuff so you can reference your theories? As otherwise it literally looks like you are making this up.

starcrossedseahorse · 09/12/2018 17:18

Verbeena stop minimising the real issues at stake here.

VerbeenaBeeks · 09/12/2018 17:20

sackrifice - you were even on one of other threads over the past few days Confused

Is this a faux innocence thing?

VerbeenaBeeks · 09/12/2018 17:21

Verbeena stop minimising the real issues at stake here

I said Ian Huntley is a vile individual and shouldn't even be pandered to for an extra cup of tea demand, never mind anything else.
Deserves to rot.
Not minimising what it's done, as that's what it is. An it. A non human.
