This is the result of self ID.....this is why Stonewall are SO wrong. Ian is a man who murdered 2 children, he has no right to change his name to that of one of the girls Mothers. He is a sick bastard who should be kept out of women’s spaces forever. We need laws to stop men convicted of sexual assault transitioning to female.

sackrifice · 09/12/2018 21:42

Please, please, try to read my posts. The extreme posters say no transwomen with penises in our spaces. That's what they profess to be all about. I'm saying self ID where anyone with a penis can waltz in is a bad idea if they can choose on the day what they are! If the extremists are saying this is what their stance is too, why do they have a problem with ALL transwomen regardless of whether their bits are intact and they should all stay the hell away?

Now can you explain why you think it is extreme?

sackrifice · 09/12/2018 21:43

Try this:

'I think it is an extreme position because...[and fill in the words that explain your thinking]...

starcrossedseahorse · 09/12/2018 21:46

Looking forward to getting an answer on this...

VisitorsEntrance · 09/12/2018 21:48

The extreme posters say no transwomen with penises in our spaces. I’m on board with that, it’s not extreme. As said above, in the past I had no problem and to be fair I possibly would have a problem now, but I worry more about women and girls.

That's what they profess to be all about. Do they?

I'm saying self ID where anyone with a penis can waltz in is a bad idea if they can choose on the day what they are! Yep, with you there.

If the extremists are saying this is what their stance is too, why do they have a problem with ALL transwomen regardless of whether their bits are intact and they should all stay the hell away
This is the problematic bit. How is anyone meant to know if someone has a penis or not? Is there a check on the door?
How is anyone meant to know if the transwoman walking through the door lives like this every day or only on a Wednesday?

Bowlofbabelfish · 09/12/2018 21:51

I do not consider myself an extremist. I am a mild mannered middle aged woman who rarely even raises her voice. I’m about as far from extremism as you get.

I do hold the position that humans cannot change sex - that is a belief backed by fact.
I do hold the position that the very few provisions that we segregate by sex for are important and we should continue to segregate by sex.

Your post, verbeena implies that is an extremist position and I would like to understand why someone would think that. Because I do not consider myself an extremist and it’s somewhat unpleasant to think people would think I was.

Quite possible.

deepwatersolo · 09/12/2018 21:59

Your post, verbeena implies that is an extremist position and I would like to understand why someone would think that.

Because verbeena believes in the female penis, obviously.
It also implies that a wish to keep one's penis should not be grounds to withhold a GRC.
At which point I have to aks: what would a psychologist need to find, in order not to award someone a GRC? Obviously, the asence of dysphoria would not suffice.

So, verbeena, given you oppose self-ID but believe in the womanly penis, what precisely should a psychologist find, in order to award a GRC?

sackrifice · 09/12/2018 22:03

I am a 51 year old, cardigan wearing, teetotal, vegetarian, obsessed with composting...nothing about me is 'extreme'.

I believe that women are of the class that gestates and gives birth and men are of the class that produce sperm. This is what most of the humans on the planet think. What is extreme about this?

1hello2hello · 09/12/2018 22:08

Unacceptable on many levels. Manipulative game-playing by Huntley.

HestiaParthenos · 09/12/2018 22:11

You sound like an extremely likeable person I'd like to have for a neighbour.

Perhaps that it is?

OldCrone · 09/12/2018 22:12

verbeena I'm still somewhat mystified at what you think makes a man turn into a woman.

Ian Huntley - no matter what he does will always be a man. I think you agree with that?

Is Karen White a woman?

Is Caitlyn Jenner a woman?

What have these men done to make themselves women? Is it clothes? Is it penis removal? Is it some sort of feminine essence? Is it just a belief, something that only they themselves can know they have?

Science gives us a simple fact - humans can't change sex. This is simple to understand, and applies in all cases without exception. Why do you reject this fact?

PencilsInSpace · 09/12/2018 22:14

Stonewall say 'acceptance without exception'.

Jess Bradley, Karen White, Nicola Huntley, Paris Green, Jacinta Brooks, Michelle Lewin, Chrystil Knight, Tara Wood, Jessica Winfield, Tiffany Scott, Jasmine Hill, Marcia Walker, Wendy Jones, Kira Leverton, Alice Smith, Kristen Lukess, Lauren Jeska, Lisa Hauxwell ... and many more stunning and brave trans ladies. Google them.

'Acceptance without exception.'

If you think this is wrong, dangerous bullshit then please tell Stonewall. Please also tell your MP because Stonewall get a massive amount of government funding and all they do with it is uncritically promote trans rights over women's rights. £7 million / year turnover and that is literally all they spend it on.

sackrifice · 09/12/2018 22:16

Lol. I take people's parcels in and steal their cardboard packaging left out by the bins for the compost heap. I'm outrageous me.

Crickets.

Eh?

VerbeenaBeeks · 09/12/2018 22:19

Where, where have I said that? As I haven't.

VerbeenaBeeks · 09/12/2018 22:43

I reminded Verbeena to read my posts, and they just didn't

They? Thanks Biscuit

VerbeenaBeeks · 09/12/2018 22:44

Oh, and I'm not a troll. Been here years and I'm not only on these threads.
Cheers though for that.

sackrifice · 09/12/2018 22:45

And the answer is...???

VerbeenaBeeks · 09/12/2018 22:46

sackrifice And the answer is...???

to what?

Mummyofthreex · 09/12/2018 22:48

I'll give him stockings, wrapped around his flipping neck.

VisitorsEntrance · 09/12/2018 22:51

They? Thanks

Safer to say they than to assume someone’s gender.

HestiaParthenos · 09/12/2018 22:55

Safer to say they than to assume someone’s gender.

Indeed.

I used to assume everyone on forums such as mumsnet was female, but with wrong pronouns now being considered hatespeech, it is safer to use neutral pronuns for everyone you don't know well enough for them to have told you their gender identity.
