Safer to say they than to assume someone’s gender

Whatevs. Doing that on purpose? S'not funny if so.
Repeatedly said on these threads I'm a she.

VerbeenaBeeks · 09/12/2018 23:01

but with wrong pronouns now being considered hatespeech

no, they're not. If you're using them or they over and over repeatedly as you refuse to acknowledge any transwoman as women, and repeatedly they'ing them , well...... not quite the same as you're making out,is it.

HestiaParthenos · 09/12/2018 23:03

I may not have read all pages of this thread, only the last three or so. It is very long.

Anyway, you aren't in a position to complain, seeing as there's no indication you have read what I wrote in answer to your question even now that I reminded you to go read it. Confused

sackrifice · 09/12/2018 23:06

Repeatedly said on these threads I'm a she

In what context? What does that even mean any more?

VerbeenaBeeks · 09/12/2018 23:09

Eh? Way to miss what I actually said.
All threads have said I'm a biological woman (ie the type you approve of.)
No need for theying me.

HestiaParthenos · 09/12/2018 23:11

By the way ... the fact that you complain about misgendering when I use "they" even just one single time as I don't know how you identify doesn't really reassure me that I won't be accused of hatespeech for using male pronouns for someone who identifies as female and vice versa.

It only took me using something else than your preferred pronouns for one single time.

And I even tried to be neutral. How much would you have complained about male pronouns?
Do you really want to tell me you would have complained less?

From my point of view, it could easily have been that you identify as non-binary and want neutral pronouns.

How on earth was I supposed to know? I can't read everything someone has written before I refer to them by pronouns, just in case they expressed a preference.

VerbeenaBeeks · 09/12/2018 23:15

Did you read what I actually put upthread? Genuine question. As I said it's not the misgendering, anyone can do that accidentally.
It's the constant misgendering on here to make a point that they're not ever going to be women whatever they do that's the problem with the pronouns.
Came across as you were doing it on purpose, if you weren't then fair enough.

Bowlofbabelfish · 09/12/2018 23:20

Can I please ask about the extremism?

Am I an extremist?

HestiaParthenos · 09/12/2018 23:23

As I said it's not the misgendering, anyone can do that accidentally.

So then why did you complain about me using "they" to refer to you?

VerbeenaBeeks · 09/12/2018 23:25

hestia And I even tried to be neutral. How much would you have complained about male pronouns? Do you really want to tell me you would have complained less?

I'd have said the exact same, yes. I'm not a he and never have been. So no, I wouldn't have complained less at he. I'd have said the exact same.
Which was cheers for that.

cindersrella · 09/12/2018 23:25

A bullet in the bollocks should help him

VerbeenaBeeks · 09/12/2018 23:26

hestia So then why did you complain about me using "they" to refer to you?

Because it seemed like you were doing it to make a point, easy assumption to make when you have people bombarding you for having differing opinions on here.
If you weren't, then as I said, fair enough.

Datun · 09/12/2018 23:30

It's the constant misgendering on here to make a point that they're not ever going to be women whatever they do that's the problem with the pronouns.

Using 'they' is adhering to MNHQ guidelines. Getting the needle with women because they are not complying with your personal guidelines is as unsurprising as it is entitled.

I am personally affronted that you expect me to collude in my own disadvantage by demanding I lie to suit you.

sackrifice · 09/12/2018 23:32

All threads have said I'm a biological woman (ie the type you approve of.)

I am afraid you are not that significant to me to have ever clocked what sex you are.

But no matter, [again] it is not about approval or not. Being female is not a club. It is a biological fact. It's not my fault, it is the way humans are.

Ereshkigal · 09/12/2018 23:37

If Karen White was put in a female prison & Paris Green is getting genital surgery, I'd be very surprised if Ian Huntley didn't also get what he wants.

This. Wake the fuck up.

VerbeenaBeeks · 09/12/2018 23:38

datun I am personally affronted that you expect me to collude in my own disadvantage by demanding I lie to suit you

As I've said before, you do you. Nobody's demanding anything. I'm not, anyway.
Just saying why it's seen as a problem on here. Don't care what you do.
Just like you shouldn't care that I don't automatically think that I don't want any of them. (them being the transwomen for clarity)

Bowlofbabelfish · 09/12/2018 23:42

[coughs politely]

The extremism? I’d be very interested to hear why you think my viewpoint is extreme

Just saying why it's seen as a problem on here.

It's only seen as a problem by unhinged transactivists who target mumsnet advertisers and go after any women they can doxx.

The three transwomen who have been talking about the alleged transphobia on here over the last two days don't 'see it as a problem'. But, as ever, as soon as they speak, they don an invisibility cloak.

VerbeenaBeeks · 10/12/2018 00:02

datun It's only seen as a problem by unhinged transactivists who target mumsnet advertisers and go after any women they can doxx.

OK, again focussing on your words "unhinged activists."
What about transwomen who aren't "unhinged activists?" why do they get their name said over and over or called they?

VerbeenaBeeks · 10/12/2018 00:04

datun OK, again focussing on your words "unhinged activists."

sorry, (your words) should be in brackets as it's referring to your words not mine. For clarity.

Iwanttoswingfromachandier · 10/12/2018 00:06

I appreciate this is an emotive subject and besides the absolute abhorrence that this monster/murderer could, because of PC ridicule actually end up in a female prison? Because of HIS rights - vile.

This monster is not a genuine trans woman - this monster is flouting our laws to move to what it equates to be a softer prison. This monster, calling himself Nicola is beyond vile - anyone who could support his right to become a woman is frankly vile - the monster is calling himself Nicola - the name of one of his victims mother - Good God

We as women have to fight for our rights - and I will support to my last that trans women have no place in prisons etc - for the simple fact that some women abused, should never have to share our space with me

Veneer - a lot of your posts are bang on - I'm disappointed that as ?I think a trans woman you don't appreciate how some women feel?

HestiaParthenos · 10/12/2018 00:07

Passing privilege - to have their words ignored just the same as women's words are ignored.

They must feel so very validated.

VerbeenaBeeks · 10/12/2018 00:08

Yes. May it rot. Deserves grand total of fuck all, laugh in the face of anything it wants.

Datun · 10/12/2018 00:11

Because if one is talking about the rights of men identifying as women, clashing with those of women, you need to be able to say they are men. It's not about being rude and mean to individuals.

The compelled speech stifles the analysis and perception required to have the debate in the first place.

I will use they on here, although I would prefer to use he. But in real life I would use she unless there was a conflict.
