London! Inspired by another thread. Come and champion your side of the river Thames! Aibu to ask - which do you prefer - North or South London Smile

Saf!

LadyFidgetAndHerHandbag · 04/12/2018 22:57

I'm North London on my dad's side, South on my mum's and have lived in lots of different areas. Now I live elsewhere and it's so much better. But I think South wins cos it has better parks.

Letthenamesbegin · 04/12/2018 23:03

Ah yes the greenery

North! Grin

bananafish81 · 04/12/2018 23:07

Norf!

I'm allergic to West London though. East and South - great. West? Venture anything further west than Paddington as infrequently as possible.

NotFeelingGood · 04/12/2018 23:07

South West. Richmond Park, Bushy Park all lovely

peachgreen · 04/12/2018 23:07

South! The South Bank is my favourite place in the world. Plus the theatres south of the river are better.

SilverySurfer · 04/12/2018 23:08

North of course - no contest. Everything that is great about London is North

KissingInTheRain · 04/12/2018 23:09

South London? A large boil on the arse of an otherwise great city.

Letthenamesbegin · 04/12/2018 23:10

@peachgreen - Agreed! The South Bank at this time of year is absolutely gorgeous as well

North. By about 200 miles.

holidayingsoon · 04/12/2018 23:16

Definitely south west London

cantfocus1 · 04/12/2018 23:18

SW London for me, close to West London & lots of green spaces. Apparently crime is lower in the South vs North these days.

Racecardriver · 04/12/2018 23:20

North surely? Why would you bother crossing the river? There’s nothing there.

chickydoo · 04/12/2018 23:21

SW London 💕

MrsMoastyToasty · 04/12/2018 23:26

West, beyond the source of the Thames.

DaphneDiligaf · 04/12/2018 23:27

North. The south is just something you have to pass through sometimes to get somewhere else. Its through the looking glass and a poor copy to be honest

cantfocus1 · 04/12/2018 23:30

Another reason I prefer South is it’s easier to get to the Sussex/Kent coast.

Penelop3 · 04/12/2018 23:31

South- purely because I grew up there and wouldn’t trade the great days in Crystal Palace park looking at the dinosaurs and then later on hosting our own shindigs in Brockwell Park drinking straight from the bottle of Glenn’s from the dodgy offie. North is too prim and proper, they need an injection of Morley’s

Dunnapoo · 04/12/2018 23:34

North west ... Hampstead Heath, primrose hill ... lovely areas of London

cantfocus1 · 04/12/2018 23:36

Penelop3 🤣🤣

Cecily75 · 04/12/2018 23:37

Muswell Hill, Camden, Crouch End, Wood Green were my stomping grounds as a youth, North is where my heart lives.

Weezol · 04/12/2018 23:38

Watching with interest - I'm from the North of England and am befuddled by the cabbie cliché thats trotted out in films/tv about not going 'South of the river at this time of night'.

FunkyKingston · 04/12/2018 23:49

North or South it matters naught you're all a bunch of thieving cockney robdogs.
